August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

It sounds like everyone is on main dining except Gary and his family. Sorry Gary, you missed the memo that the party is at 6pm and not 8:30! :rotfl2:

Maybe the party is really at second seating and all of you will be missing out.:confused3

Or maybe we will try to switch once we get onboard so my family can be with all of our new friends:yay:

Yea!:cool1::banana::goodvibes:cheer2: :grouphug:
4 more days until the kids come home! Week going by too slowly!

So glad Maggie is feeling better! We lost our Golden "Lexington" 2 years ago and I still cry. We have a 1 year old Golden now (Rugby). Sounds like there are a few Golden people in our group!

We have main seating too.

There was a crisis at our house last night. Ian's girlfriend broke up with him. His teenage heart is broken but I'm in a mess. I DID NOT get travel insurance (STUPID!!!) and I'm going to,lose 50% of her fare for the cruise and for WDW. Not to mention her flight. We're so close to the 75% date that I can't wait for her to change her mind. Arrrrgh. I told him to invite his best friend Dave to come along but he was too upset to think about it. I'm waiting for my TA to get in so I can talk to her about the best option.
This week has not been kind to me!

Ack, that is AWFUL! Poor Ian! Hopefully, once he has time to evaluate the relationship, he will invite his best friend so he is not thinking about her the whole time he is on vacation.

Gary -Nah, keep the later sitting. It will be perfect for your family since your kids are older. We loved later sitting before kids as it was a relaxing time of the day to sit back and enjoy our family.

Pirate night -I think I am going to attempt to make black tutus for my girls to wear on pirate night this weekend. Wish me luck! I love to do this stuff, but it always ends up harder than I think it will be! LOL!

Judy,

I don't even know what to say.... your son must be in a state! And you....ugh, what to do about her spot on the cruise! Hopefully, the TA can help you out with a change of name in the cabin and everything. (who would have thought that the cat pee would have looked like a small thing for the week - yikes!) This week really has sucked for the Disney Dreamers... :scared1: Well, they say bad things happen in 3, maybe this will be it, if we we combine your 2 with my 1... I will send good thoughts your way that this gets sorted very quickly and that your son is beginning to feel a little better. Poor guy...

Oh no! Poor Ian... hope he is able to move on quickly and enjoy the vacation!

I didn't get insurance either and am pretty nervous about it. I am watching the kids like a hawk so they don't get hurt before we leave... ugh, not sure what I was thinking but I just kept putting it off... fingers crossed.

Hope your week gets better!

Oh - and this is silly but wanted everyone to know our last name is Greek - our FE gifts say "from the Greeks" so you know who the Greek family is...

:yay:

Judy, that sucks! Hopefully Ians friend can go, or your husband! Am I the only one thinking this?....ok I'll come right out and say it....who breaks up with someone BEFORE the big Disney trip? Just sayin! You guys better not think I'm some white trash person for saying that cause I'm not! It will all work out. If Ian takes a buddy, they can scope for chicks on the boat!

When I mentioned to Janet last night about changing the late seating.....she said that she didn't realize we had late seating, and she would prefer early seating.

I myself thought it would be better for the later seating, so those with young kids had early seating availibility.

No problems either way......it will be a Dream Vacation! :mickeyjum

I feel for Ian, that is just a tough time in a young person's life, emotions run wild. Naturally I hope that a good solution comes about for both Ian and someone to take her spot on the cruise. His best friend would be a good solution, I would think a good friend would help Ian keep his mind in a good spot.

Drama! Drama! Drama!!!!

It's over. They're back together. I'm going to kill them both. I talked to my TA, talked to AirTran, trying to save as much as I could from this fiasco. I spent almost 3 hours calling, waiting for call backs, on line, etc. The whole time I kept hearing Ian's cell phone beeping in the next room. They made up via text. I took a day off from work to resolve this and they were texting their apologies...............................

I did get to the store to buy more FE supplies. I made Ian go with me and forced him to participate in picking out ribbon and ornamentation. It's the least he could do, right?

pittsburghgirl - The first thing I thought of when Ian told me last night was "Is she crazy? Who breaks up before a Disney vacation?" Then I kept thinking that she was a good person and not using him for a trip. Then I thought about me losing money. Now I know it was teenage angst and crazy hormones and emotions at work. They act like this on board and I'll leave them at the next port!!!!

Gary - are you going to request early seating?

Really glad the drama got sorted out - hope it hasn't stressed you out too much Judy. Kids eh!

Me too! What stress!!! You really did not need this... I think you deserve a nice big treat tonight!!!

OMG Judy! They sound like my 14 year old and his girlfriend. But, things will be smooth sailing from here on out! Go pamper yourself this weekend...mani, pedi. I need to get some sun on this ghostly body of mine or else I will fry next month. Gary, what's the word on dining time? How many of you have Facebook? I would love to Fb with you all after our fab vacation. :goodvibes

Sheesh! A girl takes a few days off from the Dis (gasp!) and misses all the drama!!!

I feel for everyone with the animal problems, it's absolutely heart wrenching to watch our furry family be sick. I put my dog down (unexpectedly, and while the rest of my family was away enjoying WDW none-the-less) 3 years ago and I still tear up thinking about him. And cat pee? That is the absolute WORST to deal with. Glad everyone is doing better.

Judy, I would've had a heart attack in your shoes! Then another one after spending 3 hours trying to find a solution for no reason!! lol. Glad to hear it's sorted out. I don't miss those hormone riddled days for sure! Every little thing made it seem like the world was ending!! I would make sure that they understand that no matter what at this point she needs to go on the vacation. And Rae, I thought the exact same thing about the GF too before reading the rest of the posts I missed. :rotfl:

Everyone in our group is getting really excited and ready to go. Of course, with 13 of us, nobody has any clue of what's going on and everything seems to be changing last minute. I'm pretty sure that we don't even know how we're even getting to the port at this point!! :scared1: We started a private vacation group on FB to keep everyone involved since none of us seem to be in the same place at the same time all together -- you would think that would help keep us organized, right? Nope..... sigh. I need to get these people on the DIS! We've decided to have a "mandatory meeting" after everyone is out of work on the 21st to get everything straightened out. Nothing like waiting til the last minute! It'll be fun though and get all of us in vacation mode!!!

And Gary -- don't worry, we'll be joining you during late dining. :cool2:

Don't you know you can't take any time away from the DIS... you will miss all the fun!

I also said to my mom when I picked her up today and told her all about the angst and drama - I couldn't believe that she broke up with him BEFORE the Disney cruise - is she NUTS!!! (so you are not alone....) :rolleyes1 (slinking back into my corner...)

I am on Facebook too!

We just got back from dinner and we took Chelsea. She really is a sweet girl and she apologized to us! She and Ian are in the next room watching
a movie and holding hands.......:rotfl:

I'm on Facebook too.:thumbsup2

I have three daughters......I know Drama!

I am on Facebook.

I am not going to try to change dining for now. Oldest Daughter is working in Virginia till August 10th, Middle Daughter is on a three week missions trip in Ecuador. Once family is all assembled together, we will have a family meeting and if the vote goes towards early dining, I will try to change it as soon as we get on board.

This thread was so boring for such a long time.......now its getting better than watching a soap opera.

Janet will be making our FE's. She is very talented and crafty. But she hasn't started them yet, so I get nervous:confused3 I know she will have them done for the trip.......but I still would like to see them done and ready to go.

Boy I thought I was keeping up with the posts!!! It hasn't been 24 hours since I last posted and what a day it was here!!

Lexandme, I am so glad it worked out for your son. No matter the drama, I suppose he wouldn't have had the best vacation without his girlfiend :sad1:

Momtotwogirls... I love the idea of the black tutus. I wish I was able to do stuff like that. I bet the girls are gonna look so cute.

After taking a census from the others in my party, it looks like we are going to stick with the later dining. I asked my hubby and in-laws after reading the posts here if they thought we should go on a waiting list to change the time, but they said the later seating was fine. So rather than stress about it we'll stick with it and see how we fare. We have the 7pm show and then the dining afterwards, so it looks like we will see the show and eat.. and from what other folks say we'll probably want to just go to bed afterwards. Ahhh well. Sleep doesn't sound too bad either ;)

I's funny that others were talking about not getting insurance either. I am in FREAK OUT mode about not getting insurance. I don't know why I didn't. But I didn't and yikes I am worried. No sooner than paying off the cruise did I get a health scare! And honestly all I could think was "Please let me be able to go on my cruise" LOL So I go tomorrow morning to the cardiac cath lab for (hopefully) the last test. If all is well, then I will be a little more relaxed about not having vaca. insurance... Cross your fingers for me!!!

Jamey, I will say a prayer:littleangel: if it makes you feel any better, this is our 5th Disney cruise and we never get insurance. Hope I didn't jinx myself. And on a last note before I hit the hay, who needs All My Children when you have These Are The Days Of The Disney Dreamers.:rotfl::rotfl2: glad Ian and Chelsae are lovey dovey again:love:, You do know Judy, that we will probably all raz them once we meet them? good night all. It's been very entertaining today. Rae:cutie:
