August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

3smithboys we are staying at the CI&S the night before too!!! Not sure if you've stayed there before (we haven't) - but the girl I spoke to said the shuttle times are assigned starting at 11am the day before. Our flight is not getting in until 7pm - so she told us we could call that morning at 11am to get our assigned time. Just thought I would pass this along to you so you could get an early shuttle too :yay:

Thanks for the info! We've never stayed there before either... I hope it is nice. We are driving down from Phiily, so I'm not sure what time we are getting there. Maybe I will just give them a call from the road on the way down!

Ok, everyone keeps posting about their port times and I keep thinking "I really need to get on this!" But I am spending too much time updating my ADR's for this weekend's trip and planning my FE gifts! Really need to try and do this, maybe when I am sitting in boring conferences this week at the GF...;)

I have to go to a conference here in the uk next week - how I wish it was being held in the gf!

Glad you had a great time at the wedding 3smithboys. How fantastic to hold it in a castle!

Need to start thinking about my FE gifts and FE this weekend - I might even try and make my FE! :thumbsup2

Ok, Disney Dreamers here is what I have been able to find out from looking at some other 4 day Navigators....

Day 1 dress for dinner is cruise casual,

Day 2 dress for dinner is optional dress up, (Nassau)

Day 3 dress for dinner is cruise casual, (Castaway Cay)

Day 4 dress for dinner is cruise casual. (Sea Day)

Now we have to decide on a place and time to meet when we get on the Dream!!! The two places I mentioned before (and any other suggestions are welcome :goodvibes) are Currents, which is the outside "bar" area on deck 13 and Club 687, which is the "sports bar" in the District Area on Deck 4. Both of those places are open to kids during the day, so that is not an issue...
It just depends if we want to be inside rather than outside and in quiet spot vs. a place that might be busier.... Currents will probably be busier since it is outside and above the pool areas... Club 687 is more off the beaten path and most people will not even know that it is there.

Now, as for the time to meet... we have to work around certain things on the first day as well as when everyone is getting on board! So, here is what I "know" is happening the first day...

3:45 - all aboard

4:00 - lifeboat drill

4:45 - sail away party

5:00 - departure

5:45 - 1st seating dinner

I am assuming that we would want to get together sometime before the lifeboat drill since then it seems that everything just starts happening in full force.... I know that we are planning on getting to the port at 11:00... so maybe a 2:30 meet would work for all of the travelers who are coming on the WDW busses? I can't remember when they get there from our Wonder cruise, but I thought it was around 1:00??? Does anyone know? Any thoughts? I am really looking forward to meeting everyone!!! :yay:

Double check your times. They are not allowing anyone in prior to 11am. I forgot to put that in my original post!! That is the biggest change of all.

I also have a 10:30 check in time. Was going to get a rental car around 9am and drive over from the parks. Bought some FE items today. So excited about my good deals. I need to get the updated list though so I can start putting things together. Bought our FE's on eBay last night. Can't wait to see them when they are done. I was also planning on dressing very casual since we will be at the parks first. Are we down to 42 days:cool1:

2:30 is good for us Lani.

Like the sound of both your suggestions for a place to meet. We're happy to go with the flow. :thumbsup2

Just received a fed-ex package - yay! Our Disney cruise documents have arrived! Now I'm really excited.

I was worrying that they might not arrive before we leave for the US - I can relax now.

What? When are my documents going to arrive? 2:30 is good for us also.

2:30 sounds good to us! We've never been on the Dream, so we're happy to take your advice on the best place. Club 687 sounds like the best place from what you've described IMO, but we are up for whatever you tell us!! OOOOOH I am so excited I can't stand it!!!!! 3SmithBoys, thank you so much for trying to arrange the meet :worship:

Yes, thank you for arranging the meet! 2:30 and Club 687 sounds good to us as well. We have always taken DCL transportation and the latest we have arrived is 1:00.

Cruise documents arriving already!? I'll have to start looking for ours. This is exciting!!

Here's a question - Music always inspires me so what kind of music does everyone listen to to get you in a Caribbean cruising mood? I listen to Marley year round but I usually kick it up when we get close and listen to more Buffet, steel drums, other Reggae artists. Anyone have other suggestions for my IPOD?
(Still haven't started my FE.............)

Hi everyone! We cannot believe that the cruise is less than 6 weeks out! We leave for Disney 5 weeks from Monday so we are revving up the planning in this house.

I am excited b/c I finally figured out my adult FE gifts this morning!!! Yay! I'm probably going to order a FE for our door, as I am not so creative to make my own... :confused3

Would love to meet up on the cruise. We are coming in on Disney bus, so 2:30 is a good time I think.

I just like to listen to Disney music to get in the mood for our trip. I do like me some Buffet too!!! ;)

My kids are excited to meet new friends: Daughter Kitty (7) and Son CJ (9).

2:30 in Club 687 sounds good to us!

I agree, sounds like a great place to meet!

I will look at the FE list to make sure it is accurate and repost it tonight. Good luck to all who are making their FEs and FE gifts! I did the no sew one on our last cruise, so I just needed to do a few minor repairs and now I am good to go.

Have a safe 4th, everyone!!

It's time to reintroduce myself and my family since it's been over a year since I posted on this thread! DW and I have two sons - DS14 and DS9 (almost 10). Both of our boys are big fans of the kids' clubs, but DS14 just recently turned 14 so he's still trying to decide whether he prefers the tween club or the teen club. Anyone else have a similar issue?
My DS had just turned 13 on our 7 day on the Magic in 2009. We booked this trip especially because my sons would be in DIFFERENT clubs. Oldest in teen club and 13 year old in tween club. They were looking forward to some "apart" time. Well, DS 13 was in teen club for open house with other DS and met the counselors and kids and then open house in his club. After first night in his tween club, he went to teen club with his brother all the other days. He thought the tweens were acting very immature. Now, he is mature for his age but I didn't really like the idea of him in the teen club (illegally actually being he was only 13), but felt o.k. with it being older DS was there to supervise. None of the counselors ever checked his ID, I think because they remembered him from open house. He loved the teen club with his brother. So, I think a lot of it depends on the group of kids in the clubs/ages, etc. Maybe your DS can check it out and see which he is more comforable with. My boys did say there was some dancing on the dance floor "that I wouldn't like" but it wasn't too bad, I guess. My boys aren't really chick magnets :rotfl:, so I think that eased my mind that they wouldn't be doing that. Plus, younger DS is quite moral and truthful would have told me if something was going on. (Now older DS is another story o truthful, but he'll be at home this trip ;) .) I would often run into the kids around the ship, there was some sort of hide and seek game a lot of the kids played. Kids would be on teams and looking for others. I don't remember what they called it but they had a blast playing it with other kids and I thought it was great that they weren't just parked in the clubs playing video games. It would be so funny to see them walking past me on the ship and pretending they didn't know me. :confused3

We have been on two other Disney cruises, and neither I nor my wife remember taking dressy cloths. How dressed will you get?

I plan to wear Disney sundresses on cruise casual nights and have and for optional dress up I have a 3/4 length black dress that has a little mickey/minnie on front (I'm wearing it in one of the photos, it's not too dressy) and mid heels. DH always packs a suit coat for the more dressed up night and has brought a Disney tie for our Palo night in the past, so I would guess he would again. We like to dress up but not so dressy as tux and cocktail dress. I'm not sure if I should wear black dress to Remy or if it's not dressy enough? I may throw in a cocktail dress. I do like to dress up. Pirate night I wear capris and a pirate themed shirt and DH wore shorts and a mickey skull and cross bones tshirt that I made.

Double check your times. They are not allowing anyone in prior to 11am. I forgot to put that in my original post!! That is the biggest change of all.
Wow, will go check my port time when I'm done here. I signed up for 10:30 initially.

Did you get it early because you are not a resident of the US? Ours hasn't arrived yet.

I am excited to play Kokomo while on my verandah, always makes me think of a vacation/ocean and have Margaritaville, but fun idea to download more to my ipod. Great idea! I like the idea of more Jimmy Buffet songs and Marley, didn't think of that! :thumbsup2 I think I'll have DS make me a special play list (I'm not too savvy at my ipod...) I also have "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Marx (I have an eclectic assortment on my ipod :rotfl2:), not so keen on some of the lyrics but the song just makes me think of doing nothing on vacation adn can't help nodding my head along with the music as I listen to it.

2:30 meet at Club 687 sounds super. Thanks for arranging this. Hope my teen DS can meet other teens! He's kinda shy at first and I'm a little worried about him being older DS isn't along for this trip. I worry he won't have a good trip although he thought the other 2 disney cruises were great.

We received our cruise documents as well this afternoon!! Makes our cruise seem so much more "real" now. :yay:

Are we supposed to put an item in the FE each day or do "goodie bags" for each person and put the goodie bag in there once?:confused3 I'm new to this whole FE thing. Hope everyone is having a good 4th weekend. My kids are gone for 8 days with their dad boating in Norris Lake, TN. Life sucks. I hate when they are not here. My daughter left "love notes" for my husband and I and hid them throughout the house. Rae

Rae -It is entirely up to you. Last time we had a mix, some for all, some just for the cabin, some just for kids. Whatever works for you!

Ugh, 8 days is a long time away from your kids, especially during the summer. I would think after 2 or 3 days of relaxing, sleeping in, doing whatever I wanted, I would start to miss my kids also. It would be nice to have those 2 or 3 days, though! LOL!:lmao:

I guess I will go to michaels today in search of bags for my items. Have to pull myself out of bed and search for my love note from Melina:love:Guess I 'll be doing this later, too:laundy: Kenny Loggins is here doing a free show tonight for the 4th. I would :love:To go see him!
