August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

Oh, your poor Mom! She has no idea!! I love it. :rotfl:

Gary, the names were Die Hard Disney Dreamers or Disney Dreamers. I can't remember who suggested them. I believe most of us said Disney Dreamers, but I wanted to confirm as I am starting to gather my FE gifts together.

I like Disney Dreamers also.

Okay, since the majority voted on Disney Dreamers, that is what we will do! Now I can get my labels taken care of for the cruise. Oh, and FYI, Bath and Body Works is having a great sale and I think the teenage girls on our trip would love that stuff! I ordered some for them today. :) Now to figure out the teen boys!

Deodorant would be good for teen boys. I only say that because I have one! Hahahaha. What kinds of FE things for adults. Give me some ideas! How dressy is everyone getting for dinner on the cruise? I'm kinda hoping it's a little more casual since it's only 4 nights.

Deodorant, a bar of soap and a pair of clean socks!:lmao:

I am working on my FE tonight, even if it kills me!!!!!!:scared1:

Spent the morning at PNC Park hoping to get discount tickets for a Pirate game for some of my homeless veterans. The great Pirate organization gave me 50 free tickets for the July 20th game against the Reds! And they have promised us the same for the August 24th Braves game. And the Bucs are winning this year too.:dance3: It turned out to be a good day.

Great question.....please chime in everyone.

We have been on two other Disney cruises, and neither I nor my wife remember taking dressy cloths. How dressed will you get?

That's awesome about the Pirate tickets. We now live in Cincinnati but I secretly pray for the Reds to lose every night. Go Bucs.

Wow! You all were sure busy this past week!!! We just got back today from our trip to England... We had a great time at the wedding, and then in London - but I am exhausted!!! I need a vacation from this vacation!

We are getting excited for the cruise too. From what I can remember from our 4 day cruise on the Wonder and then the 3 day on the Dream, people did not get too dressed up for dinner. I would call it "cruise casual" for the most part. Khaki pants and polo shirts for the guys and pants or skirts for the ladies... I wore a dress one night. Some people were more dressed and some were a lot less....some of the boys were in khaki shorts... I know that Palo is dressier (we are going this time for the first time...and I think that men need a jacket and tie.)

I did not see anyone in anything formal on the 3 night, but I'm not sure if that would be different on the 4 night.... (I will go have a look for some Navigators and see what I can find, but I don't think there is a true formal night. I know that Nick did not wear a tux or even a suit on the Wonder... Does anyone else remember????)

I usually wear nice black dress pants, heels and a nice shirt to dinner. I am bringing a black cocktail dress to wear when we dine at Palo's and it can also be used on the dress up night during the regular dining rotation. On Pirates night, I wear jeans and a black shirt to go with my pirate gear. In the past, we have dressed up on the Wonder and Magic cruise (a 4 night and a 7 night), but from what I have read, people are just not dressing up as much with all of the airline restrictions. I am trying to get us all packed in one large suitcase, so I purchased those packing cubes, slims and a packing folder.

3smithboys -Welcome back! So happy to hear you had a great trip!

lexandme What a nice thing for our vets. Glad they gave you more tickets for a later game.

Adult FE Ideas -I have not come up with much for the adults. I try to do useful, but fun stuff for the kids. Whether it is bringing a fun snack on the ship that is not offered (goldfish!) or lotions or sunscreen, highlighters, ect. On our last cruise, we recvd pirate ducks (our cruise loved these since we did not bring any bath toys and it made bath time so much more fun), baby bath books, baby wipes, candy, magnets, a lot of pirate gear, candy bars, shot glasses, picture frames, so much stuff!

Port Arrival Times -Not sure if you all have read this, but beginning in August, you will not be allowed to enter the Port until it is your arrival times, so please go online and finish checking yourself in to get a good port arrival time. Luckily it will be in affect on a few cruises before ours, so we will have a better idea how Disney is handling it. Apparently, The Port of Cape Canaveral is requiring Disney to do this since it has been a madhouse for the people leaving and people arriving.

Momtotwogirls - Thanks for that information. We have a 10:30 port arrival time but were planning to arrive earlier out of excitment and curiosity.. I'm so glad you told us that so we aren't sitting there.

Gary - We will prob. wear nicer pants, etc. but we were certainly not planning to be "formal". Especially with the kids. We might not really dress them up at all.

I love the idea of Bath & Body Works FE items for the teenage girls. We've never done the FE before, and can't decide if we're going to do individual items or a family gift. I have some ideas ;)

I can't tell you how excited we are. I told my daughter about all the girls her age coming. She's so excited to possibly meet them.

Oh yeah and we love the Disney Dreamers. 44 more days!!!! WOOHOO!!

Double check your times. They are not allowing anyone in prior to 11am. I forgot to put that in my original post!! That is the biggest change of all.

Hello everyone! Just popping in to say hi!

I've been working on my FE stuff. Stopped at Joann's after work tonight to get some last minute items (dowel rod and thread) for my FE and a few odds and ends for the gifts. I've gotten items needed to make all the women/girls gifts and know what I'm getting for the men. However, I am totally lost about all the boys. :confused3 Here's hoping some inspiration comes quickly!

Good to know about port times for future reference. Since we're all using disney transportation I'm not sure it matters much to us. Should be interesting to see how both guests and Disney react to the stringent times now. I definitely am expecting some angry rants on here come early August.

I've decided to do sundresses with sandals at dinner. A lot of time in the summers I find myself more comfortable in them anyway so it's not really different from my normal attire. I do have a nice linen pair of capris that I'll probably wear one night as well. I'm hoping to do Palo but not sure how it's going to work out. There's 13 of us in our group....6 married couples  and then ME :rolleyes1 so I either go it alone or crash a date night. I actually was invited to "crash" by one couple but the time slot they booked is full so I may just try to get in once we're onboard.

Lexandme -- during a lull at work today me and a colleague, who happens to be another huge Pens fan, were discussing them (July 1st is like Christmas to us!!) when a Pirate rep walked up to the desk trying to sell us Bucco's tickets at 90% off!!! We were very nice to her and when my colleague mentioned that she was in the wrong place as we were more hockey fans the rep then said "I don't blame you!" and left. :rotfl2: Guess she didn't make it down your end of South Side! It's awesome that they donated so many tickets!!! I'm thinking maybe lunch in mid-July? I need to check my schedule at work, but didn't want you to think I had forgotten!

Can't wait to be onboard and meet everyone!

Hello All:
Okay, we are the Disney Dreamers, and we are all getting excited that the cruise will be here very soon.

So how will we meet when we are on the cruise? Will we meet the first day, will we have Disney Dreamers name tags on.

I am looking forward to meeting my new friends on the cruise, but I am not sure if we need a good plan to pull this off?

Ideas? :confused3

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this right now. I just checked my reservation, and it still says that my port arrival time is 10:30-11:00. Others have reported that their times have been changed to 11:00-11:30, but nothing has changed yet on my reservation. Has anyone else who had a 10:30-11:00 port arrival time checked their online reservation to see what it says?

BalooHoo, I also had picked the 10:30-11:00 port arrival time and today I checked, it still has that time checked off - no changes. Maybe they don't change us all at once? :confused3

We also have a 10:30-11:00 port arrival time . Web check-in still says that so far.

Welcome back 3smithboys! Glad you enjoyed your trip to the UK.
Hope you had nice weather!

Going to have a good go sorting fish extender things out on the weekend. This will be our first time. Any suggestions or tips?

Not long now! :yay:

We have the 11:00-11:30 check in slot time. I wonder how they are going to work this out now that they are pushing back everything... It was crowded before! We are staying at CI&S the night before and were planning on getting an early shuttle to get there before our check in time - now I don't know what to do if the terminal isn't going to be open. I guess I will wait until August comes around and see how they handle it for the few cruises before ours...

We had decent weather during our trip to England. It was pretty hot some days... and other days were typical England days - chilly and drizzly. One of the days that we were in London was scorching! I felt a bit bad for my sister in law because her wedding day was a bit chilly ( but at least it was pretty sunny and not raining) Her reception was in an old castle (on the top of a hill -as castles typically tend to be...) and it was quite windy. and then it looked like it was going to rain, so they moved everything for the cocktail portion inside. She also couldn't get all of the pictures around the castle that she wanted because of the wind...but it was still very cool!!!

Weather aside, that sounds amazing!

3smithboys we are staying at the CI&S the night before too!!! Not sure if you've stayed there before (we haven't) - but the girl I spoke to said the shuttle times are assigned starting at 11am the day before. Our flight is not getting in until 7pm - so she told us we could call that morning at 11am to get our assigned time. Just thought I would pass this along to you so you could get an early shuttle too :yay:
