August 12, 2006-DIS DREAMS DO COME TRUE-Magical Western Cruise

Laura, The 3 favorite characters are Mickey, Minnie, and King Triton. Thanks for all of the info on the hotels. It looks we will probably be staying at the Radisson at the port.
So far that seems to work the best. Our flight arrives at 10:05 Fri morning. Hopefully my DS will stay healthy during this cruise, 10 days ago he had his appendix removed and he was sick again today and I took him to his Dr. and now he has strep throat!!
Hopefully he will be on the mend now. -Donna

ReggieB (Louise, Tim & their son Ben age 6) myself and Terry are staying at the Radisson so let me know if you do decide to stay there.

We love to have dinner the night before we sail at Grills Seafood a great local restaurant. I'll post the website so you can check out the menu there's also a discount coupon you can print. Maybe we could all meet for dinner the night before we sail, Tony and Ben could meet up.

I made a reservation at the Radisson. I looked at the menu you posted, looks good!
DH loves seafood, DS not so much but it looks like they have something for everyone.
Just let me know what time. -Donna

Are you going to have a rental car or are you using a car service? Did you schedule your shuttle time? I scheduled our shuttle for 10:00am.

Louise
How about you and Tim would you like to join us?

I just realized you said Tony had to have his appendix removed...(Poor little fellow)...I'm sorry he hasn't been feeling good. The cruise will heal him right up.

Beckie

Yes I also reserved 10am. He said that was the 1st one. Great minds think alike! ::yes::

Our DISgroup magnet is ... nearly crowded ... NOW !!!!
;)

:wizard: :wizard: PD your way !!! :wizard: :wizard: Hope Tony will be feeling better SOOOOOOOOOOON !

HAVE A NICE DAY ...all of you !!!
We had to wake up at 4:30am this morning ! :guilty:
Laura

We are on the 11am shuttle from Radission. Good grief it's Ben's birthday, I didn't want to rush the poor kid!! We'll have an early breakfast as probably Tim and Ben will want to have a swim in the morning. We don't get in until late the night before. So I'm not sure we could make an evening meal :(
However as it's Ben's birthday, if you are looking for morning wake up calls I can guarantee you he will be up at the crack of dawn and raring to go. Perhaps I can get him in a Mickey costume and send him round to knock on all your doors!!

We aren't bothered about getting aboard first, I know we will have to kick about until 1pm for our rooms, which is kind of my first priority. We got there about 12 on our last cruise, and that was about near perfect, as it wasn't busy in the terminal at all.

Hope Tony is feeling a little better. I had to pull Ben out of school for strep throat a couple of months back. Our Doctor was so not on the ball with that one, poor boy had the test 10 days previously. I felt terrible that Ben could have passed it on. He was pretty much over it by the time he got put on antibiotics, but better late than never.

I'm off to the Ears/Nose/Throat people tomorrow, hopefully they will refrain from shoving tubes down my throat. I have really bad problems with my throat (really sensitive and prone to getting sore) I am assured it's not contagious, so you can all relax!!

I happen to read this :
The Disney Cruise Line finally announced publicly that it is offering wireless Internet service on both the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic (service was actually introduced on the Magic in Summer 2005, and on the Wonder in Fall 2005). Most public areas offer access including the Promenade Lounge, Cove Cafe, Studio Sea and the open areas of Decks 9 and 10. Rates start at $.75/minute but packages of 100 minutes can be bought for $55 and 250 minutes are $100. "Traditional" internet access will continue to be available to those traveling without their laptops in the Promenade Lounge, Cove Cafe and teen clubs (Aloft on the Disney Wonder and the Stack on the Disney Magic). ( PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line )

and thought I can post it here ... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 just in case Jeff (or other D WORKING Hs !! ) should need to know !!!

Ciao to ALL !!!!  Laura

Laura for posting the info - I had recently purchased my passporter and found it in there as well (or else I read it somewhere...I just know i saw it!) :-) I think the laptop is the way I am going to go. If I have to check in with my business (i'm an independent consultant) clients then I'd rather do it with a glass of wine and the ocean breeze than inside an internet cafe!

I remember seeing here on an earlier thread info about our docking times at various ports that was different than what is up on the disney cruise line site. How do you find that out? We are trying to make a final decision about a day room at the Westin in GC and don't want to do it if we only have a few hours to enjoy it...but if it is truly most of a full day starting early AM, then we are definitely going to do it.

I remember LeiLani got a note from DCL - with info on the NEW docking times.
She :confused3 should be back in few days from Scotland ... if you can wait a while for your reservation at the Westin ... :thumbsup2 she could help with EXACT times !!! :)

Laura

I can search up through the posts and find it...just wondering if something like that "sticks" or if it could change again...

Let's hope not !!!
but I'm afraid it could change ! :confused3 On our last Western cruise the Magic skipped Gran Cayman (due to rough seas) and we knew about that a day in advance !!!

But ... :) as Beckie posted, this hurricane season should be mild ...

I made our final payment the other day and I got a revised itinerary from DCL. It shows us leaving KW at 7:30 instead of 10:00pm, Grand Cayman at 4:00pm instead of 5:15pm, and Cozumel at 6:00pm instead of 10:15pm.

Jeff ... :confused3 here is what LeiLani posted ...
Hope it can help with your decision !
Laura

Is anyone booking anything thru Shoretrips? There was an interesting beach "fun day"
type excursion for Cozumel. -Donna

Donna, I am booked thru Shore Trips in Cozumel for the dolphin swim. Michelle is booked thru them too but at an earlier time.

Im still on the fence about Grand Cayman........what's everyone doing for that?

Good Morning Cruisers! :teeth:

Afternoon Donna

WOW you sure were up bright and early this morning. (6:41am) I just got back from another around trip to Gainsville to pick my nephew and bring him home for the long week-end.

When we got back my sister Cindy was giving a block swimming party for all the neighborhood kids, today was the last day of school. She's  but all the children were having a blast.

Tia/Donna

Because we have to tender at Cozumel we booked with DCL, we are going to Xcaret Eco Archeological Park. I can't wait to snorkel in the underground river.
