My daughter actually had a few days home... She is back at Hershey Medical Center to do her cadaver dissection. Can you believe she is actually excited about it?!
I did as you suggested and kept getting on to check and we got a high tea and a dinner reservation at Palo.
I ordered a "Happy Birthday" door decoration from the Disney Cruise website. My DD turns 14 on August 13 so I thought it would be nice to have it there as a surprise. I know they will do a cake for her as well.
I will turn 50 on June 5 and my other DD will turn 21 on September 2. So we have a few milestones coming up.
We had some good news for Chuck.

 Ciao, Michelle !!!
:crazy2: Excited ... :scared1: about :confused3 cadaver dissection ????
OK,please :rotfl: do tell Jessica :I promise NOT to talk Italian during our meals ;) but ..... she WILL NOT talk about "cadavers" !!?!! right ???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
BTW SOOO GLAD you are going to link your reservation to ours !!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

What day / time could you get Palo reservations ? :cheer2:

Have you ordered a Happy birthday stateroom celebration from Disney ???
Two years ago our Happy birthday banner was placed :confused3 INSIDE the room ... not on the door , and I also got a nice "cascade" + centerpiece AND cake !!!!
THAT IS A MARVELLOUS TREAT !!! you'll love everything !!!

SO HAPPY Chuck will not need a further surgery !!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Sending lots of PD your way !!!

See you all SOON on board !!!

Laura

Missed ya the last few days. Recieved your PM...I can't want until our trip.

OK I need everyones opinion, quite a few groups here on the Meet Board have named their Cruises.

Would everyone like to come up with a Name or Slogan for our cruise. I have been trying to come up with something but :confused3 most ideas I have had are too lame.

I'll post mine if you post yours..."MAGICAL MEMORY CRUISE" or "MAGICAL MEMORIES CRUISE"

Ok everyone please post your ideas.

Well it looks as if I may not get my "Hotwire" deal at the Hyatt, where are you all staying before the cruise?? Any deals out there?? -Donna :scratchin

Donna

While most have trips to WDW planned pre-cruise, a few of us are traveling to Port Canaveral the day before the cruise and are staying at the Radisson Hotel and Resort. (Just click on the link below)

Radisson Resort at the Port

I was thinking about booking at the new Residence Inn at the Port, but I waited to long and the rates went up before I could book.

Residence Inn Cape Canaveral

These are just two of the resorts used by guest traveling to the Port. For a better responce the Main Cruise Boards may offer more options.

Donna,

The Disney Swan has great rates for Govt employees, nurses and some other groups. You might want to check that out.

We're flying in Friday before, renting a car and spending the night at the Swan (DW works for the FDA). I was able to find a deal w/ Budget so cost for the car Fri/Sat and then our return Sat was less than $100 total.

Dont know if there are any available but all the ALL start resorts and Pop Century are a good buy considering what you pay off site. JZ

Two Donna's is gonna get confusing! lol

I am booked at the Swan on the nurse rate before the cruise for 3 days. I know the Dolphin was full all the days that I wanted but the Swan still had availability.

I will think on the phrase some more. :scratchin: ;)

Good Morning! Thanks for all the great info. Beckie, I did call The Radisson Resort at the Port and they had a Govt rate of $135. I was just trying to factor in the cost of a shuttle from the airport vs Disney tranfer that I would have paid stating at the Hyatt. When you stay onsite do you still pay the $59 for the shuttle to the port??
What are the nurse/ govt rates at the Swan? Thanks to everyone for all of your help.
Donna

Donna,

It looks like the Govt/Nurse deal at the Swan ended 4/30 :rolleyes2 The deal was $129 for a night. Right now, the best price I see is $155 + tax or $172 for the night.

Just a thought : we found it cheaper to rent a car and drive to our hotel and then to the port in the morning ... instead of using Disney transportation .

:wave2: Laura

Tia/Donna

I have this DH with a car he values more then me. :rotfl2: We drive to Port Canaveral and the Radisson has the free parking and shuttle service to the port. At $12.00 a day to park at the port this saves us $84.00 dollars in parking cost which if you subtract that from the room rate it makes the price very reasonable.

I would agree with Laura I would rent a car or car service to take you to Port Canaveral then use the free shuttle to the ship. There are several car rental agents close too the port so pick-up and drop-off seems to be easy. As we always have our car someone else should have better info on the car rentals. The rental agents also have free shuttles to the port so you could rent a car at the airport then drop it off the next morning and take the shuttle over to the ship.

What time does your flight arrive at MCO?

Laura
Thanks for the well wishes! We are excited about dining with you and I promise Jess will not discuss cadavers. I am a biology teacher, so the two of us like to talk medical stuff, but my husband reminds us not everyone can handle that at dinner.
Beckie and Laura
I like the "dreams do come true"

We are staying at Pop Century which was a good deal since we need two rooms. We then reserved a towncar with Florida tours. The link is on page 12 on our thread. It was $210 for roundtrip from Pop Century to the port and then from the port to the airport. They will make a stop as well. We can also set the time so we are there early.

I was able to get reservations for dinner on Friday at Palo's and a high tea with my daughter Jess on Wednesday. Keep trying the website since I guess the get openings.

We have 3 assemblies this week for senior events and several graduation rehearsals. Herding 400 seniors into seats and trying to give them instructions when all they want to do is get out of here and go to the beach for senior week is like trying to herd cats! Pray for me!
