First/Donna

We booked : Stingray City Reef Sail & Snorkel for Grand Cayman. I can't wait to sail on the 65-foot catamaran. :boat:

We're booked for the Stingray City Snorkel, not the reef one, as that might be a bit too ambitious for Ben. Grand Cayman is the only place we are doing an excursion. We thought it would be way more relaxing to go with the flow, or rather go with the Benjamin!! I would have loved to have done some of the ruin at Cozumel, but Ben would probably not be up for that quite yet.

Can't believe some of the kids are out of school already, my nephew in UK would be majorly jealous. Typically in UK schools finish mid-July. Ben's out in two weeks here in MD, but we are cheating as we are..gasp..taking him back to UK for the first ever time in a week or so. He'll miss a few days, but SIL is getting married. We haven't been home for 7 years, this is going to be a major culture shock! Ben is pretty excited, I think he thinks Granny lives in a hut or shed or something!!!!

My ear/nose/throat thing was fine. I felt like a complete hypochondriac as usual.

Well the boys are out from school, but our school term starts back August 7, 2006, so the number of vacation days are still about the same as the schools in other areas.

I would love to see Ben's first reactions to the UK, or rather the UK's reactions to Ben, :rotfl2: he's going to have a great holiday. He'll also be spoiled by all the attention from your families.

It finally looks like everything is coming together for this trip. I found a rental car that we can return at the port. Now I just have to look for one in MD. DH is against the idea of leaving the car at BWI for a week. The only Shoretrip excursion that we are considering is "Fun and Sun On the Beach." It sounds like a fun beach day with a little bit of shopping! Gotta have some shopping time in Cozumel for sure. IMO this is the best port for shopping. I wish we were stopping in Costa Maya again. Last year we had an "altered itinary" due to a hurricane. We were supposed to be on an Eastern cruise but 30 min after leaving Cannaveral the Capt announced that it had been changed. We stopped in Castaway Cay first which I loved. We did not stop in Key West, and Costa Maya was added in as our last stop. Anyway... I was just wanting to know if anyone else was interested in that excursion with Shoretrips. -Donna

We would have liked to take Ben to Disneyland Paris, but we are pretty short on time. We did try to think how we could fit it in. Tim and I went ages ago (twice) so it would be interersting to see how much has changed. The Eurostar is a such an easy way to get there. I'd rather go there than DSIL wedding, but I was overuled!! ;)

We will be taking him to Silverstone for the F1 Grand Prix, so he can watch those lovely Ferrari cars whizz around the tracks. My brother works for one of the teams, doing hospitality, and as he normally lives in Singapore it is a great chance for us to catch up with him too. :Pinkbounc

It'll be World Cup fever in UK when we are there, which will be pretty interesting. The English don't get passionate about much, but football (sorry, I can't bring myself to use the S word!!) is going to totally dominate the news for a few weeks now. My nephew announced he was supporting Brazil, and was promptly sent to his room (I'm joking, but his Mum and Dad where kind of "HUH?")

Yes, we are booked with shoretrips. They seemed to have a good reputation on the boards.
In Grand Cayman, I think we will go on our own to the beach if it is a good day. When we cruised on RCCL last summer to Freeport and Nassau, I wished we had stayed on the boat at least for one of those days. It is fun to stay aboard when it is less crowded, so we'll make that decision on board.
I know someone mentioned a "mild" hurricane season, but that is not what I have read. I really hope so. We were racing home ahead of a hurrican last August. They closed the pools because water was sloshing over the sides. You couldn't even stand up straight! So, I hope the "mild" predication is correct.
Have a great weekend everyone!

No one ever forgets their first Hurricane they are frightening, yet each one seems to have it's own personality. Here's hoping for a mild season this year, only 12 days until the new season starts.
Sorry...While I'm still hoping...all the reports are saying we are in for a bumpy year. :confused3 "But Ya Never Know."

I finally figured out how to find a Pluto avatar but am not sure it is loaded right.

We're first timers as you know and want to know when our 75 days officially starts so we can go online to book Flounders, a spa service (couple's cabana) :-) and a cozumel excursion. Is it at midnight tonight eastern time? or something else...

Jeff

Your 75-day mark is May 29, 2006 @ 3:00am Eastern Time. So tonight at 3:00am Eastern you should be able to start booking, along with Firstmickey, Indimini, and ZZZZJOHNZZZZ.

Good Luck to everyone

Yikes. I'm not sure that THAT is going to happen. Really the most important thing for us is to book some flounders time as we think we are going to do all the ports on our own since we just want to hang on the beach in GC and Cozumel and we may get off the ship for a bit in KW but will maybe stay on board and explore for most of that day. If we get the couple's spa cabana great..if not, we'll find something else to occupy our very short but appreciated times alone. We'll make some decisons tonight get up in the AM and let the chips fall where they may. :thumbsup2

Well, I didn't quite make it on line at 3:00 am (had to be up until 1:00 am for a conf. call w/ a client in India :badpc: ) I did get to our reservations at 6:00 am and had no problems getting everything booked. Well, I did have one problem, the web site wouldn't let me include DW in Stingray or Snorkel options at CC - I think it was confused since I'd used her name to book the Couple's Spa. Hopefully Disney will fix this bug and get her on our reservations.

Anyway, here's what I booked:

Grand Cayman - Atlantis Submarine adventure (all 4 of us) 1:15 pm
Castaway Cay - Couple's Spa
- Stingray Adventure (10 am - hopefully all four can go)
- Snorkel Equipment Rental

Palo's - 6:30 dinner Friday night.

Fitness - Metabolism Test/Body Composition for myself. (I should have booked two of these to see how much weight I gain on the cruise :teeth: )

Bryce is registered for Oceaneer Lab w/ self check in/out privileges (He'll love that)

All of this, along w/ our Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel should keep us very busy. The only other thing I could think to book was the Rasul treatment, but figured it was getting too expensive since we are doing the Cabana Spa treatment on CC. Two reservation #'s (two rooms) made things a bit of a pain since I had to swith back and forth and hope time slots weren't filled between switching.

Hope everybody else has good luck w/ their reservations today.
