Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Beginning at 4:00PM, Guests inside the park who have purchased hard ticket event tickets for the

will receive a wristband which will serve as proof of admission for the event later that evening.
Guests with wristbands may stay in the park at closing; all other Guests will be asked to leave the
park. In addition to the Front Gate, additional areas for Guests to swipe their hard ticket
admissions and receive wristbands may be set up inside the park. Guests should refer to their park
guide or ask a Cast Member for these locations.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

This will be my third Halloween Party in the last four years. I always found myself "watching out for the bands on the wrists".... pirate: and I remember not seeing many people without them...when it became dark....BUT.....Having said that...I didn't look at the people watching the parades to see if they had on their wrist bands... :smooth: We are going October 5th... and again to the Princess and the Pirates on February 23rd....I hope both places are free of those without the wrist bands.. :sad2:

Okay, so they are 'sort of' addressing the issue. Still, how are they going to find all those people without wristbands that want to just hang out on Main St? Sure, people do that with EMH's all the time. But, there usually isn't anything really special going on during the EMH's that only we, that have wristbands, can see or do. It's basically for riding attractions. So...if they don't actively sweep the park of non-banded people, those folks are going to be sitting on the curbs watching the special parade, standing at the end of Main St.watching the special fireworks, trying to get their kids into the trick or treat lines or the character signings. Sorry, but they have to do better than asking politely for people to leave the park at 7:00!
I sent out my email yesterday morning...we'll see if I hear anything back. Not buying those tickets until I'm convinced that you have to pay to stay!!

I'm sure most of the people wihout tickets will leave, some might stay but then again they're the folks that probably stayed last year too. I bought my tickets and plan to go and have a great time, not spend the night looking for wrist bands on other guests.

I am glad you got a response, but I still don't see this as an answer....hopefully they will get enough emails and phone calls to change their mind and decide to close the park early...

I agree, it wasn't much of an answer...

Completely inadequate response, IMO. Asking guests to leave just doesn't cut it for me. I think CMs are advised not to have confrontations with guests, so there is no way this will be properly enforced. Both Dh and I will be sending emails.

Here's the response I just got...slightly different than others.....

Dear Diane,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

For guest attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that are
already be in the Magic Kingdom
during the day are allowed to stay. Beginning at 4pm Guest inside the
park who have purchased event
tickets for that evening may return to front gate to have their event
ticket swiped. You will then
receive a wristband which will serve as proof of admission for the
party. Guest with wristbands may
stay in the park at closing, while all other guest will be asked to
leave. Normally this is done
smoothly by checking wristbands as party goers are admitted to one
area, like Tomorrowland, as the
park is preparing to close to day guest. You are able to continue to
enjoy the rides there as the
rest of the park is emptied and then reopened to party goers.

This will be the same process with Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
in December.

Tickets are on sale for both Parties at this time.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number
if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

This sounds like exactly how it was handled last year so it doesn't address the fact that this year it will be different; the park is NOT closing for an hour. It will be much more difficult to clear it out; how can they "smoothly by checking wristbands as party goers are admitted to one area, like Tomorrowland, as the park is preparing to close to day guest. You are able to continue to enjoy the rides there as the rest of the park is emptied and then reopened to party goers." if the park isn't closing this year. That's why it sounds like this CM is quoting what was done last year.

More confusing then ever IMHO. :confused3

I just called again....

The CM said that they ARE NOT closing the park early, at 4:00pm they will begin issuing wristbands to those who have paid for MNSSHP tickets and at 6:00 they will make an announcement that if you do not have tickets to MNSSHP you need to make your way out of the park.

I then asked if I would be able to enter the park prior to 7:00 with just my MNSSHP tickets, the CM advised me NO...I will not be permitted in the park prior to 7:00.

I then asked if he could give me a guarantee that no one other than those with tickets will be allowed to remain in the park...he then said that Disney will do their best to make sure that non ticket holders were not in the park after 7:00, but that he couldn't guarantee anything.

This conversation with Disney really upset me, so I asked him, "How is it fair that you will not let me into the park prior to 7:00 with just my MNSSHP tickets, but you are letting day guests who didn't purchase MNSSHP tickets remain in the park and enjoy the festivities?"

The CM didn't really have an answer for me.....he just tried to assure me that non ticket holders would not be in the park.....we shall see....

I'm concerned, as many have said, because I'm attending the 1st party on the 15th. This will be our 1st time at any of the hard ticket events & I'll be gravely disappointed if this is handled poorly.

I also sent an email to someone in the events coordination office. We are working with them on an (unrelated) Disney event on a corporate level. DH & I have expressed that we would reconsider having the event there if this MNSSHP does not go over well. The convention we are handling would be worth a substantial amount (in our opinion) and hope this will make someone from outside the MK planners take a look at how it being handled. It may be a long shot, but it seemed worthwhile.

PS--while writing the email, I already got a quick response from the event planner & she said that she would look into it. We'll see!
