whats atlantis have that we would enjoy if we booked a room there?? is there a water park or something??alot of posts indicate that cruisers do not like to leave the ship so i'm curious as to what to do. any input would be greatly appreciated.:sunny:

there are several pools with water slides at Atlantis. A year and a half ago, we booked a day room there, and went through the dig, snorkeled in the lagoon, and basically checked out the facility. It is a lot of walking, or at least we thought so, and got turned around a couple of times.

If you want, you can also get a day room at the comfort suites across the street for a less amount, and you also get the same use of atlantis as well.

We booked a day room too last year. Atlantis is HUGE and we did a ton of walking, though we all had a great time. You can book a room at the comfort suites, which is across the street but much less $ and it gives you Atlantis privilidges. You may find more info on the boards at cruisecritic.com ....

Okay, this might be a dumb question, but why would you want to book a day room?? and what is the cost?? Is that the only way you can go to Atlantis?

I'm not speaking from experience, so I might be wrong, but you book a day room so that you can use the Atlantis facilities that were mentioned above.

My question is when you book at the Comfort, do you have to ask for a "day" room?

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative in Nassau, and don't need a waterslide, consider a daypass at the British Colonial Hilton. We paid $10 for adults and $5 for kids. There is a pool,a lovely clean beach and an outdoor restaurant. It was not overly crowded and turned out to be my favorite day on our last cruise. Its an easy walk from the boat.

You can walk around Atlantis without a day room, but you have to pay to go through the dig, or to use the pools, their private beach, or water slides.

Comfort Suites also does day rooms at a little cheaper rate, that will give you access to all the stuff.

I think my friend paid over 200 for the day room, and we really were so pooped, as they put the room out in the back forty, and we kept getting turned around, that we really didn't enjoy it that much...You need to specifiy that you are a cruise passenger looking for a day room at either place if you decide to go that route.
