At what age do kids have to get the 'adult' ticket?

We are heading back in October and my oldest will be 10 in August. He is also a picky eater who would prefer chicken fingers and mac and cheese over anything else. Fortunately our youngest is a total carnivore and will be more than happy to eat steak and ribs to his heart's content!

Not available at Walt Disney World restaurants. Repeated requests won't change WDW's stand on this.

And honestly, my twelve year old will out eat the rest of the family combined. My eleven year old daughter can make an entire meal out of a slice of deli ham and four strawberries. I'd guess that MANY ten+ year old boys can eat their weight at a buffet, while many 40 year old women don't eat a complete plate of food.

Age is a silly way to structure price - and if you want to pay for what you eat because you don't eat much - stick to table service, share meals, and skip courses (the dining plan is NOT a good deal for everyone).

It's really a shame that they don't have 2 kinds of kids tickets. Especailly because you have to pay the same amount of $$$ for a 3 or 4 y.o. as you do a 9 y.o. and the 9 y.o. generally can go on all the rides by meeting the height requirements while the 3 y.o. can not.
They should have an age 3-7 ticket and an 8-12 ticket, or something like that!

At DL, there was a Junior tix (10-17?). I paid this price from 1973 to 1983. Then Mickey & CA state considered me a grown up. DARN!!
