Disney's new slogan to be immediately posted at every FP+ line:

"At least you're not shoveling snow. Deal with it."

I was thinking the same thing . I mean seriously - I am so thankful every time I get myself to Disney World. I usually have to work very hard - extra hours and lots of finagling to get there. Sometimes I am even sending up prayers of thanks each day that I'm there. But even with all that, I still am hoping for my fp lines to be short. I am still expecting a certain level of service.

I have never understood that "At least you're at Disney" argument. Reminds me of the year I went to Yellowstone Park and had to get an emergency root canal in West Yellowstone. Oh yeah, and it snowed in August - we were at Yellowstone 3 days early because we had to evacuate the Glacier National Park which had an August blizzard. And I was extremely sick from the major pain killers I was on. We were young and a little scared and called home to my father-in-law. His response was that we should just be thankful we were on vacation. Right. (He's a much better person now, than he was then ).

PLEASE stop saying this. MLK weekend was a busy weekend, President's Day is a busy weekend AND week. Two weeks in March will be a busy week because of college spring break, and of course there's that busy week in April, over April vacation. Then there's ALL of July and August, and Columbus Day weekend, and Thanksgiving, and Christmas/NYE weeks. MANY weeks/weekends are busy times at Disney, because that's when the majority of people can GO to Disney. Saying, "Well, it's a busy weekend, what did you expect," doesn't address the issue that FP+ isn't keeping up when it's busy. Why would Disney design a system that can't keep up when it's busy? It's not like "busy" is a foreign concept at Disney!

I also don't understand why I should be happy to stand in that obscene line for 20 minutes "because it'll move faster once inside." IF that's really true, to me that says it's still a 25-30 minute FP line, which I don't recall ever experiencing with legacy FP.

I'm still trying to figure out how FP+ will enhance my WDW experience. These pictures from today are NOT calming my anxieties about our October trip over Columbus Day Weekend!

I admit that this reply made me chuckle. But as others have mentioned, the "it could be worse, you could be shoveling snow" mentality neglects to take into account that a WDW vacation costs thousands of dollars and a snow shovel costs about 10 bucks. Is it better to be at WDW than to be shoveling snow? Of course it is. But considering the amount of money WDW costs, it darn well OUGHT to be!

Weird how much difference a week makes. I was there last week and my longest fp+ line was test track at... Wait for it... 7 minutes by my watch.

Only exception was mission space shut down for a few and the fp+ line went to test track, but cleared as soon as it opened back up.

All other rides my fp+ was under 5 minutes including toy story.

How is it that the experience changes so radically in just a week?

Peak times, moderate, low times. FP+ should play nicely in the off peak times.

During peak times - it just can't work that well. They simply don't have enough ride slots to pull it off.

I wonder if we will see a two FP limit during spring break?

Don't forget most of June and Star Wars weekends packs people in DHS even in May. Memorial Day is no cake walk. And I thought Columbus Day WEEK this year was peakish.

It's seriously a blizzard in Oswego, Illinois, but I'll take waiting in a 60 minute FP+ line to shoveling this white crap any day!!!!!

You know, people say these things because that's how they feel. It is a busy weekend, the line may move faster inside (I don't know, not there). What else can someone say if they are just trying to contribute to the conversation? I can't fix the problem, but maybe I can try to make it seem a little better.

Some people, myself included, just don't get worked up over this. It just doesn't bother me that I may have to wait in a 20 minute fast pass line. So maybe I'll post something to try and put a positive spin on it. NOT discounting anyone's anxiety or disappointment, but trying to find a better way to look at it - like I'll say Hey, at least your in WDW! - meaning no harm by it, but because I really feel that way.

Of course I'll get some rolling eyes and snide comments about how I'm drinking the kool-aid (god I hate that phrase) or some other condescending remark (that the posters think I won't understand), but I don't care, I don't know you guys!

It's here. Yes, those pictures look bad to most. It may change, it may not, but it's just not ruining my vacation. We'll adapt.

And I'm sorry, but I would rather be in Disney than here in Chicago right now.

Just wanted to make sure everyone's aware the people standing in the FP lines are not doing it because Disney was feeling generous and offered them a free trip. They paid likely a few thousand dollars to be there between tickets, flights, hotel. Some more.

I've never really understood the "well you're still in Disney!" justification people use to minimize crappy things that happen there. Yeah, Disney is better than snow. The people waiting 20 minutes to enter a FP line paid for the privilege. Nothing stopping anyone here from doing so too.

I totally 100% agree with you. Getting kicked in the pants is a whole lot better than being set on fire but, it still doesn't mean I want to pay $4000 to get kicked in the pants!!

If some of you out there want to pay thousands of dollars and do not care about the product you are receiving and feel anything Disney does is "A OK" then more power to you. I guess I am just someone who thinks as fun as WDW is, it is still a business that needs to maintain a quality product to keep receiving my hard earned vacation dollars.

Sure I would rather be at Disney than shoveling snow, it is a silly comparison... I would rather be at Disney than doing lots of things, like sitting in a Dentist chair, or waiting for 3 hours at the DMV to renew my license, or sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. We are talking about daily chores and life's unpleasant necessities being compared to a planned vacation where we spend thousands of dollars and want to be entertained and get our money's worth.

I do not even know how I feel about FP+ because we have not been to WDW since it has been implemented. I do have my concerns though and I think that is a totally rational and normal response considering things like the lines we are seeing on the first really crowded period since FP+ has taken over completely.

SB lines right now (6:30) look quite short from what I see (haven't paid for the full touring plans, so just see a sample). Might plan to leave the parks in the afternoon and make fp reservations for late afternoon/early evening.

Spring break runs from second week of March to mid-April. Easter being late will work in your favor, but I would expect moderate crowds at best during your week.

It seems that WDW wants to come to terms with the fact that the attractions can not handle the capacity they keep crowding into the parks....They are being greedy and not concerned with the customer experience.... I think it is shameful

Just got back on Sat. from a weeklong WDW trip and I can say with 100% certainty that I agree with this ^^^

Its a shame too, because magicbands had the potential to be an innovative tool that could have added another level to the theme park experience. Too bad a large chunk of that 1.5 billion didn't go to the imagineers. Maybe Pandora will be amazing, but that is quite a way down the road.

I think Disney should have had the interactive piece in place first and let the data mining bean counting part come along gradually. Because they are clearly not interested in customer service right now.
