At the park now, FP+ lines are snaking through the park

You're right that there are two opinions and perhaps no one is right or wrong. But usually when someone says at least you're in wdw, they are not trying to cheer someone up. And its easy to tell by the tone of the rest of the post.

I'm not a fan of fp+, but I am happy for people that used it and had a great time. I have seen people being attacked on both sides of this issue, and frankly, its a bit silly. Nobody is going to change anybody's mind. Still, I do like to post my opinions about it - and I might even do it multiple times :rotfl:.

Well I can't speak for other people, but I can assure you my motives are simply to try to cheer someone up. :) I have to look for positives or else life would be really depressing. :rotfl:

I have never seen star tours with a long wait. I hope they aren't trying to herd people to it. It was always easy to do in the standby lines and was a waste of a fastpass. I don't know how many "ships" they have but it must be a lot.

They are herding people electronically by requiring everyone who wants a FP+ for anything (ie TSMM or RnRc) to book two second tier attractions at a park where there are three second tier rides, one of which is a tower that doesn't look entirely family friendly and another of which sounds boring to the teenagers who want to ride the tower. People who would never have gotten a Star Tours fastpass and may not have even made it over to ride between shows and/or multiple times on more popular rides now have a scheduled time to ride.

All kidding aside, these are the crowd levels some of us (those who don't love or hate FP+ but simply view it from an analytical standpoint) have been waiting for; to see how FP+ performs and what impact it has when it is the exclusive means of bypassing standby lines for all guests.

So far, it's not looking good but there will soon be many more days like this in which we can see how Disney reacts.

Agreed - I'm not willing to give my thousands to Disney in 2014 to find out first-hand.

The time of year we go has long stand-by times quickly in the day --- 120+ for Space and etc.... FP- made it possible for us to have a good time and ride all the biggies..... I've been waiting on reports from this weekend to see how it all played out. Thanks everyone for your first-hand 411! We'll not be going in 2014.....

Can't be, there's only ten of us.

:wave2:

I'm thinking that number is growing substantially as I type, though. We were just the founding members. :drinking1

This thread is awesome. I love the excuses and rationales the RCGs are using. :lmao:

Wild and crazy. Looks like we are getting close to appointment riding to me. Has Disney increased FP alottment to higher than 80%?

That kiosk line is NUTS!

Precisely what I was thinking.

I'm still trying to figure out how FP+ will enhance my WDW experience. :confused3

FP+ wasn't put in place to enhance your WDW experience. It was put in place to enhance Disney's bottom line.

I wonder if we will see a two FP limit during spring break?

If enough people who got shut out today or who waited in 20-30 minute FP return lines complain........ I think that's a possibility.

Please enlighten a pleb like me, what does RCG stand for?

For proper comparison between FP+ and -, what were FP return wait times like during a busy time with FP-? I know my own experience in a slow time was that the waits were longer, but not excessively so, maybe 5-10 minutes. How much worse is a crowded day?

I can't speak to the attractions being mentioned here, but my daughter and I waited 45 (yes forty-five!!) minutes in the FP line for Soarin on our last visit. I was really upset (especially since ::ducking tomatoes:: I didn't find it all that impressive).

I'm surprised a certain someone hasn't already jumped in to tell us that those pictures were faked by NASA and all you have to do is show up at rope-drop.

I try to be positive too. But you probably know what I'm talking about with the "other" kind of people.

They were surely Photoshopped. :rolleyes1 And what is that saying now....Disney rarely has a slow season anymore....or something like that? Thank God this is just the "testing" phase. :lmao:

What are they going to do with these exterior lines in the summer as people faint from the direct sun or the gridlock caused by the Peter Pan fast pass lane overlapping the small world FP lane? It could get dangerous if they don't figure out a way soon to get the flow moving past the scanning mickeys.

Man, I wish that were the case. At least that would make some sense in all of this.

But, somethings wrong, seriously wrong on the back-end. Something that didn't show up in all of the data modeling and in the real "testing."

And, before I get flamed by some, if they'd known this was going to happen, they would have had a plan in place to manage the FP+ lines ahead of time and the crowds around the bottlenecks

You know, still calling it a test may be the smartest thing they've done so far.....

Can anyone post the Twitter pictures or links to them? I have Twitter and tried searching for different things... but I stink at Twitter. ;)

I want to see the long FP+ lines.

ETA: I saw someone posted a few some pages back. I will check those out. Any others? haha

Here ya go.

Hi I have not posted on many fp+ threads but this one really intrigued me.

First of all I have to say I really appreciate the sarcasm and jokes I really think it is needed in these dark times.:rotfl2:

Any way I have to say looking at these twitter pictures are really freaking me out:eek::eek:. I really feel that this is going to be the norm for lines now. I am going in the beginning of August and will surely expect to see this.

We have been spending more time at the dark side the last year or two and after this trip will spend more time there.

However, I hear the dark side is thinking of a system on the same lines as this I hope they are following this and will learn from Disney's mistakes.

I'm right with you! I have stayed out of these FP+ threads but have read them. Now with a trip this June which btw my sister and her family have finally decided to go even though I told them next year might be better, and seeing these lines I am starting to get a little worried. We are a family who goes to Disney for 6 days so we want to ride more than 3 rides a day and I feel like what we pay we deserve to ride more than 3. I understand the power that be is wanting us out of the lines and spending our money eating or buying souvenirs, etc and they have a right to want that but it looks like we will still be in even longer lines and have less time for other things so maybe that in itself will encourage some changes before summer.
:cool2:
