At long last, Nicki & Todd are going back to WDW, LIVE!

I'm happy to hear y'all enjoyed Via Napoli! Thanks for the great pics and reviews!

What a great way to start the day! (As an aside I thought I would add for everyone reading.. DD woke up with a cold - so she is now cuddled under a blanket, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and clutching her Mickey Mouse "because he makes me feel better." Sorry - I think its cute... anyways back to what's important!)
Via Napoli! Awesomeness.. We don't have it this time.. but with little ones I am sure we will be back very soon so I'll try for it again. It's so hard with little ones - eating times are just not that flexible... Those pizzas and the cool prosecco - just a smidge sweet.... I am just in heaven thinking about it!
Thanks for the Osborne lights shots... DD loved them too!
Those drinks at HS (let's be real MGM) look so great! (Can you tell I was preggers on my last trip!)
Maybe its just because I am from the deep south - but don't just you just hate bad BBQ? It always ruins my day too!
Can't wait for your bakery review and pics! Have a wonderful vacation!
(And yes your DH is awesome for double the cupcake love!)

Another wonderful dining report. Thanks, Nicki! I can't wait for Disney in a month- wow time flies. We'll be hitting up the Germany caramel shop for sure. This is also the first trip in which I'm 21. Oh yes, those holiday drinks look good!

Here's hoping to a great day at the MK! Hope Todd doesn't wait until the last minute to make a decision about dinner. Oh, wait...it's Todd. He can get you in anywhere. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

So glad you are starting to have some better meals. When you try that chocolate caramel cupcake could you also try a caramel apple covered in chocolate and let me know what you think! Also thanks for the pics of the menus very helpful.:thumbsup2

Long time lurker here!! Just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you put into these reviews!! The Live reviews are so exciting and i know it must be hard to write them at the end of a long day!! Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your trip!!:goodvibes

Great reviews Nicki. I love what the server said to you at Via Napoli. Loved the pictures. The pizza looks good but I think I am going to order a pasta dish. We are going dec 5th and I cant wait too! Oh I am smelling it already.

That bear tree looks cute too.

Also thanks for the HS pictures. I think I will get a cookie and hot chocolate or apple cider if its cold enough. I just hope the cookie doesnt taste like cardboard and the apple cider will not taste like cough medicine. The snacks we have gotten there in the past were nasty too, so I am hesitant. We had the nuts and I thought I would break my teeth. We had a sugar cookie too once and it was tasteless.

Hmm, Todd is sure having some strange food combo choices?? But a hungry man has to do what a hungry man has to do.:)

I hope you both have a great day today.

Jumping in a bit late...just wanted to subscribe and can't wait to go back and read more thoroughly. Thanks for all the great info!

Phew...took me a while to catch up. You are SO good to keep us up to date. I can't imagine ever having the energy or time while there! I have tried, and always end up days behind in no time! Maybe it's because I "talk" too much :rotfl:

We were at the caramel kitchen in October. O.M.G., it is heaven! In fact, I said that to the CM at the register "This is HEAVEN on earth!" She just smiled and nodded. I am jealous you got the popcorn. I just knew it would be yum, but we were trying to save room for all the F&W grazing, so we mostly got stuff to eat later. We got a pretzel (my fave!), one of those oatmeal cookies (ours was fresh and soft, but a bit too sweet for me), and a dark chocolate caramel square. I can't wait to try an apple!

I'm with you on the Cosmo slushie. Loved it! We also loved the short ribs at the France booth. Sorry your second round wasn't as good. I also loved the corn and cheese thing in Mexico....I didn't find it salty at all! I guess it's safe to say that quality varies by the hour!

Sorry your first few meals were not great. I am so happy you enjoyed VN. We are going in February and I can't wait! Oh, and FYI we did breakfast at Rainforest in AK in April of 09. It is noisy and dark, but the food was really good! Hope you like it (assuming you make it there....)

I am really enjoying living vicariously through you! Hope you are having a great time at the MK!

Lovin the reviews. After that review I might have to add Via Napoli to my next trip. It looked fabulous. Looking forward to the Il Mulino because they are on our list.

Glad you are having fun but can you swing another carmel corn picture?? popcorn:: It looks yummy and I think I could smell it through the computer!

Loving the reviews!!! Can't wait to hear about Main St. Bakery..this is my dream breakfast for our trip. We need to use Snack credits for Breakfast and to feed our 18 mo. old too.

Nicki just have to say I love your reviews. When I'm considering a place to eat I'll go back to your past reviews to see what your experience was. Looking forward to morepopcorn::

seeing that fried veggies picture from VN made me hungry for them again (we had that app in September.) SOOOOO glad you enjoyed VN. Figure if an Italian girl likes the food there, it has to be good, lol.

Loved your pics of the Osborne Lites...we saw those for the first time on Friday night. Awesome!

Can't wait for you next installment, and hope your get your gingerbread cookie fix soon.

Veggies fried are a wonderful thing, if they are done right and VN certainly does them right :thumbsup2 I did get the gingerbread men, they are resting in my Tupperware container :lmao:

Ooooh thanks for the Osborne shots, get to see it in a few weeks now! Sorry Boma wasn't as good this time around, at least VN was amazing! I HAVE to try that truffle artichoke pizza, it looks so good.

The lights were gorgeous, we have seen them 6 times now and each time I get all teary and giddy like a little kid. Boma was good, just not great...the pizza was KILLER! (in a good way :goodvibes)

Good morning, Nicki!

I just knew you'd like Via Napoli and that artichoke pizza is to die for! Been there, loved it! :goodvibes

Guess we are keeping that lunch ressie we have if I can't get a dinner one instead of La Hazienda!

:thumbsup2 for good coffee at Boma and aren't those eggs delish!

Off to show my kiddos a little more of Vienna in about an hour! But before that ............ breakfast! :lmao:

We are foodie sisters! Yes the artichoke pizza was phenomenal, you were 100% right on that. Have a great time in Vienna!

Sorry you didn't make the meet. Hope your aunt is OK.

Thank you...I wish I made the Dismeet too, there is always next time.

Too bad La Hacienda was a disappointment. I'm sure they will have no trouble filling tables with that view though.

I think you are right about filling the tables..we may try it again if the menu changes...you never know with us, at least Todd enjoyed it.

Even though Boma wasn't as good as before, you still have me really looking forward to it for December! Especially the goat cheese and chive eggs.

I should have just had a plate of ham, the goat cheese eggs and croissants...I enjoyed all of them

Sounds like your Mousekeeper needs a big fat tip! That's so sweet of her to ask when you're away.

Trust me, she is getting it! She was passing our room at 8am this morning and told me the room would be ready for our afternoon break...she is wonderful!

Bahahaha I love what the Italian girl at Via Napoli said! I am so hungry for VN pizza now. You guys got the two kinds I most want to try. I am very hard to please when it comes to pizza since I ate the real thing in Naples a couple years ago...but this stuff looks pretty much like what I had there!

She was so sweet! The pizza was excellent, just as close to perfect as you can get.

Umm did I read that right.....you did TSM with a TEN MINUTE WAIT?!?!?!? I don't understand....in the standby line? How is that possible???

Yes, just 10 minutes and the sign read 50 minute wait. It was great!

Glad to hear that you guys are having such a good time with great weather. Those pizzas looked AMAZING!!! Make me sooo hungry. Can't wait to hear about Il Mulino (it you guys go LOL). :goodvibes

I was hoping we would go to IM but he said he doesnt feel like pasta.....I swear he is making me nuts. I told him that the Dis dining would be down today at 5:30 until tomorrow late sometime and he didnt believe me, I showed him the note the cleaner left for me and he still thinks he can make changes! :rotfl2:

Thanks for a WONDERFUL updates, We loved eating breakfast at BOMA (not dinner), do you think the level or quality of food went down b/c of all the free dinning? When I told my husband about your experience of Narcoossee's he said the last time we ate there wasn't that great and that's why he hasn't asked to add it to our ADR's.
I'm so happy you had a good experience at VN b/c we are going in 3 weeks. We are ordering our son spagetti so I'll let you know how it is.
How was the orange drink you got in VN...is it strong?

I'm happy to hear y'all enjoyed Via Napoli! Thanks for the great pics and reviews!

Glad you enjoyed them! VN was awesome!!!!

What a great way to start the day! (As an aside I thought I would add for everyone reading.. (And yes your DH is awesome for double the cupcake love!)

Aw, that is so cute. I hope she is feeling better! The BBQ was terrible, it even smelled too sweet...DH needs a sign that reads "I will do whatever my wife tells me to for WDW food"

Another wonderful dining report. Thanks, Nicki! I can't wait for Disney in a month- wow time flies. We'll be hitting up the Germany caramel shop for sure. This is also the first trip in which I'm 21. Oh yes, those holiday drinks look good!

Glad you are enjoying it! Time will fly by, you'll see. Oh to be 21 again, you lucky thing! Enjoy all the cool drinks and the caramels :worship:

Here's hoping to a great day at the MK! Hope Todd doesn't wait until the last minute to make a decision about dinner. Oh, wait...it's Todd. He can get you in anywhere. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

MK was perfect! We still have no clue what we are going to do for dinner, Il Mulino is out but I know we are going to Epcot....sans a reservations :scared1: Yes I am worried, no he is not :confused3

So glad you are starting to have some better meals. When you try that chocolate caramel cupcake could you also try a caramel apple covered in chocolate and let me know what you think! Also thanks for the pics of the menus very helpful.:thumbsup2

Me too! I will work on getting another apple....anything to help the cause

Long time lurker here!! Just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you put into these reviews!! The Live reviews are so exciting and i know it must be hard to write them at the end of a long day!! Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your trip!!:goodvibes

The hard work is worth it if you guys enjoy it and it helps with your own trip! Last night was a tough one because I was exhausted but my 2 "Kats" would not let me go to bed until I updates, just kidding girls, I love ya!

Great reviews Nicki. I love what the server said to you at Via Napoli. Loved the pictures. The pizza looks good but I think I am going to order a pasta dish. We are going dec 5th and I cant wait too! Oh I am smelling it already.

Thank you! The pizza was amazing but I really wished I tried a pasta dish too...the people around us were getting them and they looked awesome

That bear tree looks cute too.

I have issues with those cookies too, they look so much better than they taste

Hmm, Todd is sure having some strange food combo choices?? But a hungry man has to do what a hungry man has to do.:)

Wait until you see what he ate today :lmao:

I hope you both have a great day today.

We are so far, thanks!

Jumping in a bit late...just wanted to subscribe and can't wait to go back and read more thoroughly. Thanks for all the great info!

Take your time, you will not miss a thing :thumbsup2

I try my best to keep it live for you guys...luckily I am a ball of energy so I can keep up ;)

We were at the caramel kitchen in October. O.M.G., it is heaven! In fact, I said that to the CM at the register "This is HEAVEN on earth!" She just smiled and nodded. I want another pretzel, that was the best!

I'm with you on the Cosmo slushie. Loved it! We also loved the short ribs at the France booth. Sorry your second round wasn't as good. I also loved the corn and cheese thing in Mexico....I didn't find it salty at all! I guess it's safe to say that quality varies by the hour!

You are right, one person's experience can be completely different based on time of day

I really hope we make it to RFC, it is a new one for us and it is easy to get to since we are spending the day at AK

I am really enjoying living vicariously through you! Hope you are having a great time at the MK!

Thank you so much, hope you are enjoying it!

Thank yo uso much! I am glad that they are helpful to you in making your plans.

Good morning, Good morning, its time to say good morning...no wait scratch that....Good afternoon!

We were up early, hit the bus stop at 8am and the first bus was a MK one so we hopped on in. The weather was supposd to be breezy and 84 but it was cool and windy and very cloudy until 10-10:30 when the sun finally came out to warm us up.

We made Rope Drop and our little feet (well, my little feet and Todd's 13 feet) took us to Main Street Bakery. This has been a favorite of ours for years! We were the 3rd family in line and knew we would have 2 croissants. I wanted a banana and DH wanted the mother of all cinnamon buns. We both had coffee (I needed the kick) and it was very bad coffee and had to be doctored with lots of sweet n low and cream.

Here are some pics of the food offerings.

The ham, egg and cheese croissants were excellent! Nice and hot, soft creamy eggs that ooze cheesy goodness into your mouth as soon as you bite down, thin sliced not too salty ham that melts on your tongue and tender, butter croissants. Is there a better breakfast out there???

Nov16MKday006.jpg

The banana was very good but I didnt know it would break the bank at $1.29!!! :scared1:

Nov16MKday007.jpg

The cinnamon bun was huge and looks good but Todd was very disappointed in it. He said it used to be ooey gooey, buttery, sticky and very very soft, very creamy and covered in icing. Now it is very dry, like a loaf of cinnamon bread with some icing on it. His thinking is that it was stale or made well in advance and slapped with icing. It wasnt even hot all the way through.

Nov16MKday005.jpg

Now a shout out to the WDW bakers are MSB....please please please stop messing around with the recipes. If it aint broke dont fix it! Bring back the REAL cinny buns and while you are at it the FRENCH TOAST LOAF!

Ok, done with that ;)

The park was super quiet, no wait for anything, not any of the mountains, not anything at all....until 11am when the crowds came pouring in. It was perfect and the weather was getting warmer!

The bathroom by Adventureland and Frontierland was closed due to a pipe breaking in the mens room and flooding out the area in front of the Dole Whip stand...it was closed for an hour or so and they had to reroute everyone away from that area.

Why does Disney always mess with the things that are good and leave the crapola stuff alone?

Glad you enjoyed your croissants...they do look yummy. Poor Todd...no good on his roll. But I'm sure he'll find a great place for dinner tonight to make up for it. ;)

By the way, the rest of the Photopass pics are up when you get time.

After spending the morning doing all that MK has to offer we decide to eat lunch and go back to the CBR for pool time and naptime (otherwise known as UPDATE time!)

The Pirate and the Parrot is closed, under renovation, but Peco Bills has the taco salad. I remind him that he never likes it, it is always greasy and upsets his stomach and the do not have his favorite black olives. He still wants it and I think he is going to throw a tantrum so I say FINE, lets go but I am not eating there. I think he skipped away in a happy dance of some sort.

The self service kiosk is the easiest thing so we did that and got his pathetic taco shell with a itty bitty scoop of seasoned ground meat. Off to the topping bar he went and loaded it with a gut busting amount of extras...hold on to your stomachs when I tell you he but every single item on it except the mayo, mustard and ketchup :scared1: I mean cheese sauce, mushrooms, onions, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, shredded cheese and the topper? A scazillion pickles that he ate while we tried to find a seat :rotfl:

Nov16MKday008.jpg

He mixed it all up and took a bite and said it was awesome....try this he says. No way man, you are on your own. No seriously you need to try this. So I did and was very surprised that I liked it! Not greasy, no funny taco shell taste, it was very fresh and good but it didnt fill him up.

Hey Nic, what else can we share?

Huh? Share? I had one stinking bite of your precious taco salad so you would leave me alone....what is this share you speak of?

I wasnt that hungry, just a little bit I guess and really didnt care where we went but he decides to actually remember something I told him before...CHH has fried shrimp.

Hey Nic, didnt you say someplace in here has shrimp?

Off we went to CHH and ordered the fried shrimp plate with cole slaw and fries. Since I have heard so much about the apple crisp and I love all things apple we got one of those too.

Nov16MKday009.jpg

The shrimp platter was huge, I think there was a dozen enormous shrimp in there. They do have a heavy batter on them but they are tender and delish and not greasy at all. The fries were very good too and the cole slaw was icy cold, sweet and very crunchy. Big thumbs up to this meal :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Nov16MKday011.jpg

The apple crisp was a let down. The apples are diced super tiny and in a thick gooey gelatin like stuff and there is very little apples in it. The crisp is not a crisp at all but a thick, heavy pastry like crust. I would pass on this.

Nov16MKday010.jpg

We were ready to leave the park but not before my 8 year old husband said, not without hitting the candy store right? I swear my nieces are rubbing off on him.

Nicki,
I love your reviews!! Thanks for taking the time to do this. I also had a very dry cinnamon bun from the Main Street bakery. I was really looking forward to it from all the hype and was so disappointed with it. Actually, I had a much better one from the Pop food court. Have fun tonight!!
