At long last, Nicki & Todd are going back to WDW, LIVE!

After spending the morning doing all that MK has to offer we decide to eat lunch and go back to the CBR for pool time and naptime (otherwise known as UPDATE time!)

The Pirate and the Parrot is closed, under renovation, but Peco Bills has the taco salad. I remind him that he never likes it, it is always greasy and upsets his stomach and the do not have his favorite black olives. He still wants it and I think he is going to throw a tantrum so I say FINE, lets go but I am not eating there. I think he skipped away in a happy dance of some sort.

The self service kiosk is the easiest thing so we did that and got his pathetic taco shell with a itty bitty scoop of seasoned ground meat. Off to the topping bar he went and loaded it with a gut busting amount of extras...hold on to your stomachs when I tell you he but every single item on it except the mayo, mustard and ketchup I mean cheese sauce, mushrooms, onions, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, shredded cheese and the topper? A scazillion pickles that he ate while we tried to find a seat

He mixed it all up and took a bite and said it was awesome....try this he says. No way man, you are on your own. No seriously you need to try this. So I did and was very surprised that I liked it! Not greasy, no funny taco shell taste, it was very fresh and good but it didnt fill him up.

Hey Nic, what else can we share?

Huh? Share? I had one stinking bite of your precious taco salad so you would leave me alone....what is this share you speak of?

I wasnt that hungry, just a little bit I guess and really didnt care where we went but he decides to actually remember something I told him before...CHH has fried shrimp.

Hey Nic, didnt you say someplace in here has shrimp?

Off we went to CHH and ordered the fried shrimp plate with cole slaw and fries. Since I have heard so much about the apple crisp and I love all things apple we got one of those too.

The shrimp platter was huge, I think there was a dozen enormous shrimp in there. They do have a heavy batter on them but they are tender and delish and not greasy at all. The fries were very good too and the cole slaw was icy cold, sweet and very crunchy. Big thumbs up to this meal

The apple crisp was a let down. The apples are diced super tiny and in a thick gooey gelatin like stuff and there is very little apples in it. The crisp is not a crisp at all but a thick, heavy pastry like crust. I would pass on this.

We were ready to leave the park but not before my 8 year old husband said, not without hitting the candy store right? I swear my nieces are rubbing off on him.

I see Pecos Bills is the same with the taco salad...a little dollop of meat in that huge taco shell. I can't believe Todd was STILL hungry after that.

I love the shrimp dinner at Columbia Harbor...very tasty and filling (I always get the chocolate cake--nice and moist).

Yes, I would say the girls are rubbing off on your hubby. Or he is in fact pregnant.

On the way out we noticed the crowds getting very thick, it was a good time to leave. The plan was to get popcorn but we were too full. Apparently not too full for Todd to get a piece of Rocky Road fudge that he said was very creamy and good....I will take his word for it as I cannot stand fudge. I did get a nice little Tupperware container of gingerbread men and because the CM broke the head off of one she gave it to me for free...we ate it while waiting in line to pay and it was GOOD!

I think he just wants more caramel treats

Thanks for a WONDERFUL updates, We loved eating breakfast at BOMA (not dinner), do you think the level or quality of food went down b/c of all the free dinning? When I told my husband about your experience of Narcoossee's he said the last time we ate there wasn't that great and that's why he hasn't asked to add it to our ADR's.
I'm so happy you had a good experience at VN b/c we are going in 3 weeks. We are ordering our son spagetti so I'll let you know how it is.
How was the orange drink you got in VN...is it strong?

We do not like Boma dinner wither! I dont think FD has anything to do with it, unless they are cutting back on the quality of food. You will love VN, the orange drink is very very light and not too sweet at all

Why does Disney always mess with the things that are good and leave the crapola stuff alone?

Glad you enjoyed your croissants...they do look yummy. Poor Todd...no good on his roll. But I'm sure he'll find a great place for dinner tonight to make up for it.

By the way, the rest of the Photopass pics are up when you get time.

I love your reviews!! Thanks for taking the time to do this. I also had a very dry cinnamon bun from the Main Street bakery. I was really looking forward to it from all the hype and was so disappointed with it. Actually, I had a much better one from the Pop food court. Have fun tonight!!

Hey there Nic I remember tagging along on your last review and when I was over on Kathy's TR today catching up I saw mention of your current trip
A few things that came to mind along your food travels that I just read through (and ate about 30 Triscuits to accompany your pictures )

Did you try the beef skewer in Argentina at the F&W festival? Was one of my favorite offerings

Ohhhhh that caramel shop!! I think I was there every day I was in Epcot! The caramel apples were unbelievable (I had mine cut up too...by a very cute boy named Andres) I brought one home for my parents also...it was so hard not to eat it on the plane!! The popcorn was delicious...unlike any I have ever had!

So funny that you mentioned in your non-Disney life you eat cereal....I don't usually eat breakfast but I swear I could visit a buffet every morning when at Disney!! I never, ever eat scrambled eggs....unless I am at Disney The goat cheese and chives from Boma are my favorite

I loved Via Napoli too...and it has gotten very mixed reviews....we shared a salad, the fried vegetables that came with the rice balls and sangria. I had the cantaloupe and proscuitto pizza any my friends had the artichoke that you had! WOW!! I so cannot wait to go there again!! And not just for the hot young waiters!!

One other thing that really made me laugh was that I have stayed at AKL many times...my DVC home and been to the CS Mara there often. Well, no matter what I get .a falafel, flatbread, etc.....I ALWAYS get a little condiment cup of pickles!!! I was laughing so hard when you said your husband did this and here I am doing the same thing!!!!

Can't wait to see where you end up eating tonight!!

I am so loving your reviews as always Nicki! I am glad that you are both having a wonderful time! By the way, I do the same thing as your DH regarding putting the pickles in the little cups...lol. I love pickles and can't resist to grab some when they are on the condiment tables.

Great review of the taco salad and the shrimp basket. DH really likes CHH because of it. He likes the change of pace at that QS.

I am killing myself with the caramel...Todd came up with a fantastic idea and we will try it out before we leave, go to Italy which is right next door and get vanilla gelato and then hoof it to Germany and beg for a blob of caramel
