So we arrived last night around 1am, from our flight. Flight was good, Magical Express was great. We got to our Studio Room at BLT, overlooking the lake and the courtyard. VERY awesome view for a non park view. Our opinion of the room was, eh, its ok. Its smaller than a studio at SSR for sure. We are still deciding on the theme design, but its very nice. Our room shows a LOT of wear and tear on the furniture. We are on the 7th floor. We just ordered in for breakfast, but, I can say, our view waking up was pretty awesome:

Ok breakfast just arrived...Then off to DTD..More to follow

Seriously, bring your own!! I felt like I was being stung by a million little bees!!! NO adjustments on it, and it comes out sharp!! We are getting ready and off to DTD.

And thankful to Disney for this fantastic prize and opportunity to do what we probably could not have ever done..... This was truly the greatest gift ever!!!!

This is disturbing to hear. We will be there next month for our first stay after adding on points. Thanks for the pics. Hope to see more soon. :santa:

Welcome Home! I love hearing that when I get to WDW!

I'm also following on Twitter! I'm @markymarc70 on Twitter! Have a magical time!

Also sorry to hear about the condition of your room. We were there the first week of October on the 7th Floor as well. We too had a great view of the lake and pool, but fortunately, our room was in great condition. There was very little wear and tear to the furniture.

Have a great trip! Take pictures. You'll miss the view when you get home.

We were at BLT last month on the 14th floor, and the villa had lots of wear and tear. It was very beautifully decorated, but it seems like the materials that Disney used were not properly suited to so much use. The pattern of the carpet was worn out on the heavily travelled areas, the sofa cushions were ripped on the undersides, and had water stains on the top. The cabinets and door frames were nicked, the shower leaked cold water on top of your head all the time, and the refrigerator had huge gashes in it. We stayed at VWL right after our BLT stay, and the finishes that Disney used there seemed to be higher quality, and not showing near as much wear and tear.

This is very disheartening to hear. I'm so looking forward to staying at BLT for the first time. But now to hear that there's a chance I'll get a room that already has such noticeable wear and tear is not encouraging. Especially for a new resort. I could understand this if it was OKW, which is just now getting some serious refurbishment.

Sad!

It seems to be a common theme that the furniture used in BLT is really of a quality that is not to the level of the other resorts and seems to not take regular use, never then less slight abuse well at all.

I would guess that there will need to be a refresh of some of the furniture, the question is who is going to pay for it, the developer or is it going to be out of the reserve fund that will need to be replenished quicker (meaning higher dues).

I will post more about our day today, we are off to the pool, BUT, wanted to post these pics of us with a TRUE Disney Icon, Lou Mongello

Ok, so this morning we got up and ordered room service breakfast. Then we went exploring BLT and Contemporary. PLEASE, do not mistake my previous post as complaints, OR, should you worry about staying here. I only pointed out the damage as shocking that people do that, and, the shower head will kill you if you are not careful :rotfl2: The rooms are very nice and the view is awesome. We did some pin shopping, and then went to the bus stop. WOW, people think SSR is slow?? 30 minutes and 3 busses came, 2 for Studios, and ours for DTD. So we went to DTD, did some more pin shopping and picked up some more pins. We then went to World of Disney for halloween shopping, and thats when we caught up with Lou Mongello. He is a fantastic person to meet and talk with. We stood in the center of World of Disney for over half an hour chatting about everything. He is a great person, and a great asset to the Disney community. Jess picked up some Jack Skellington shirt and ears for tonights MNSSHP. We then stopped at Goofys Candy Company for the special Halloween Apples. OMG!! I just had some, and its amazing. Its caramel, candy apple, vanilla, white chocolate, and sugar. Holy Cow, the taste is amazingly incredible!! Wow. We then took a boat to SSR and had flatbreads for lunch and visited our home. Then it was back to BLT for some sun and swimming. We are now getting ready for MNSSHP, and I should have some great pics later on tonight or first thing tommorow!

Here are a few more pics:

hey for DD stay at SSR or OKW.
for MK and Epcot stay at BLT.
for Epcot and studio then BWV or BCV.

bus service (except Pop) is not great.

still can't understand why the deluxe resorts share buses.

A friend of mine (MEK & her friend Ducky4Disney) just wrote about the shower heads at BLT in their TR...and described it EXACTLY the same way!! They were able to find a solution- she says after you find the correct temperature, slowly push the lever that switches the water from tub to shower head until you reach the desired pressure. It's post #302.
