Arusha Rock Fire Pit has been lamed

We own a house down in Kissimmee, but we often made a point to head over to the firepit at the Animal Kingdom lodge before having dinner at Jiko. The last time we did, the fire pit had been surrounded by an ugly themed fence and the fire smell was replaced by a gas flame. This used to be a great place to hang out and meet folks, but now it seems lame. Your thoughts?
