Article about "THE Disney Store Coupon Code"

I certainly hope that members of the DIS RIGHTEOUS did NOT get their hands caught in this proverbial cookie jar;) ;) ;) ;)....

IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME, DON'T DO THE CRIME!!!!

Aw, you're worried about me, Sweetie? That's so, well, sweet! My hands have been near no cookies - proverbial or otherwise. :)

Uh, isn't it illegal for them to charge more than the agreed-upon price? Isn't the legal solution to cancel the order and notify the customer, *not* to automatically charge full price without giving the customer the chance to cancel or agree?

Seems like it would be, I don't want to be charged full price then have to mail stuff in to get $15 back...I would rather they cancel the order...

No 'cookies' for me.

But, doesn't this statement contradict what all the others here were saying:

Although Disney stated in the terms of the coupon that it could be used only once, the company took no initial technical steps to prevent customers from using it multiple times or passing it on to other people.

That's NOT what I was reading from the other posters. Just curious though.

There is a woman on a list I'm on that is b******* and moaning right now that they might cancel her 68 orders...YEP You heard that right 68 ORDERS!!!! Saying she will NEVER shop there again and that someone needs to pay her for the time she lost shopping on the site for 12 HOURS. 68 ORDERS!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still in shock that someone would abuse a promotion like that. Holy smack!

I just got out my handy calculator and that would have been $1020 worth of free merchandise!!!! Over $1000 and she is mad she couldn't scam the system. Incredible.

What a mess!

This article is also posted on the budget board.

I am so glad I didn't order anything off the internet. I used my two holidays cards at the TDS Monday instead.

Herc.

Hmmmm, interesting. Now I have to check my orders to see what's going on. I hope they give me the choice of canceling my orders before they cancel them. I want to keep all but one thing that I ordered.

That's what I was thinking Shep and Tammi. . .

Talk about scams!! If they can get away with doing that, what would prevent any company from offering a deal like that, not making the conditions clear, accepting orders for one amount, then turning around and charging full price???

Uncle Mike would be doing that everytime he needs another bonus. .

And for Spiegel to yell and threaten their customers over their mistake; well, after hearing that, I certainly will won't be purchasing my cashmere speedos from them anymore!!!

;)

:teeth:

I just e-mailed them to find out when they were going to ship my stuff.... I wanted a response in "writing" Can't wait to see their response

Disney does not plan to charge full price to customers who used the coupon code before it placed the notice on its site asking them to send in their gift certificates, Gladowski said. But those customers who placed their orders after Disney posted the notice will be charged full price, she said. Disney will refund the amount of the coupon after it receives the coupon from them, she said.

You might not hear from them, either MJ, until they charge your credit card for the full amount.

If I were you I'd call them. I called today and was told that even though I ordered before the code was discovered as being invalid, the discount would not apply to my orders. I either had to pay the full price for all of my orders or cancel them. I chose to cancel them, since I would never pay the amount of money plus shipping that Disney wanted for the items anyway. Sorry to any Disney Store fans, but I'm not overally impressed with their clothes (which I ordered, but only because I was getting a deal) nor do I feel their DVDs are any too cheap at the regular price. I'll go to Target and get my Lilo & Stitch video, I don't need lithographs. :)

It seems like dealing with Eisner seems more & more like dealing with...
