Art the Greeter at the Beach Club

We saw Art this afternoon. He is thrilled, and amazed, that so many people care about him. He kept repeating that he is overwhelmed by the concern and attention.

He is truly a class act. Seeing Art is always a pleasure!

OMG BRENDA - You're engaged?!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :woohoo:

I was just going to post "awww, look at the happy couple" and then I looked at your ticker!!! :yay:

We're heading to WDW next Sunday. Looking forward to our AKL CL stay, but the 1st 2 nights are DVC - we had OKW and I wait-listed for BCV. Had forgotten about it totally, but yesterday BCV came through so we'll get to see Art!!! (Well, you know we'd get over there to see him anyway. It wouldn't be a trip to WDW without seeing our favorite Greeter! ;))

Congrats again, Brenda -- you 2 are such a cute couple!

I just catching up on reading some old posts when I came across this photo---it made me laugh out load because it's just so adorable!

Did you make the jacket?

Finally found out how Art is. I read about him on the Disboards and when we caught the DME back to the airport last October Art was outside the BC waving bye to the guests who boarded. I told my DH about him and how well known he was and he took a picture thru the window for a keepsake, but its not on photobucket so I can't post it! DH has been asking me for ages to look up how he's getting on.

This is obviously rather blatant advertising, but I really enjoy talking with Art. I'm at Beach several times a week--usually before it gets crowded--and often Art has some time just to chat. What a wonderful man. And I can tell you that he's smart as a whip. Clever as a cat.

I just wanted to say that I've never met Art or even been to Beach Club. But I started to read this and though to myself "if anyone ever didn't understand why people do DVC, this is a great example." Here's a regular guy doing his job and there's so many people on this board that have stories about him and actually care about him. He must be a wonderful employee (CM) and truly is an icon of Beach Club. Where else can hundreds of people remember an employee or be touched by someone doing their job. Truly the magic of Disney and I hope I get to Beach Club soon to meet Art.

Just came across this thread and had to chime in:

Art's smile is so infectious - when he smiles you can't help but smile back!

I have only seen him once and that was when we stayed at the Yacht Club for our honeymoon in 1995. We walked by him, holding hands and he said - "Now that's true love" - and smiled that beautiful smile! I have never, and will never forget it. When I remember my honeymoon, I remember him.
Even though it wasn't that big of a deal, it still meant a lot. :goodvibes

When I stay at the BCV this September, I think I will thank him for that.

Awwww, by all means do tell him! It will mean a lot to him I'm sure. A sweeter, more gentle soul you will never find. ;)

Thought maybe we should revive this thread............

You are right about his being a gentle soul! I've enjoyed my chats with him.

Yes, Art normally works Tues-Sat, 8am - 4pm, & usually takes his lunch sometime between 3 & 4. Good luck in meeting him, he really IS as wonderful as everybody says, trust me!

Enjoy the Magic that is Art!

Art is off work he will return on Thursday 10/16.

Oh, that's too bad. We'll be there this weekend and we will miss our annual photo with him!!

Your scrapbook is a GREAT idea. Art is a kind, wonderful man and really is the epitamy of what a Disney cast member is and truly reflects the spirit of Disney. We are looking forward to seeing him in two weeks. Always has a kind word, so plesant, soft spoken and a heart of gold. You can tell he really loves what he does.:cheer2: :cheer2:
