Hi all,

Flying into MCO tomorrow, arriving at 1215, picking up rental at the airport.

I'm feeling sooooo stressed about driving from the airport to WDW. I'm typically a pretty cool driver, but this will be my first time driving in Orlando and for some reason I'm super twitchy about it.

I need some reassurance. Is it pretty easy finding my way from the airport to the Expressway to I-4?

Thanks....

:guilty:

Personally if you don't want the stress of driving I would take 417 and avoid the Beachline and I-4.

Wouldn't worry too much about it. The roads are pretty well marked.

A few things to keep in mind:

- There are two main exits out of MCO; the North exit and the South exit. The North exit will take you to the Bee Line/Beachline Expressway (FL-528). The South exit will take you to the Greeneway (FL-417). If you're headed for Disney, I'd go for the South exit. The Greeneway is considerably less congested.

- Pay attention to signs exiting the car rental garage and signs getting you out of the airport. Once you're out of the airport, its pretty simple.

- There are two or three tolls between the airport and I-4/Disney. You might want to bring a few single$.

Once you're out of the airport, the ride is really pretty relaxing...

Take your gps and give it a few minutes to find the satellite. Very easy to follow the directions to anywhere you want to go.

You can also ask the attendant at the rental car checkout to point you in the right direction and then follow the signs. You will be fine.

We take the South Exit out of the airport, and enjoy that route. Pretty open, not usually much traffic when not rush hour.

Not sure where you are staying but it well marked as PPs said. The signs are for the resort area ("Epcot Resorts" "Magic Kingdom Resorts") so keep that in mind. For example, going to Epcot is different from going to Epcot Resorts.

As soon as you see and then pass through the WDW arch, you'll love the drive!

Have a great trip.

We found the South Exit the way to go. It's very easy. Have fun!

If you take the south exit have a few dollars in quarters handy. The off ramp tolls are unmanned and you must have correct change.

Another vote for the South Exit to 417. It's a very easy drive. If you get off at International Drive, there are 2 tolls for $1.25 each. These booths are manned. That will bring you near the Epcot Resorts & Downtown Disney. I've never continued to the Osceola Parkway exit, which would take you close to Animal Kingdom Lodge & Pop Century, I think it's another 50 cents.

Another vote for the South 417 exit. There are two $1.25 tolls. (Booths are manned). I would take exit 6 (signs posted) off 417. All you have to do is drive straight. You will pass the Caribe Royal/Buena Vista Suites go straight through the intersection and you'll pass the Marriott World Center, you will go under the arch for Walt Disney World. From there follow Disney's signs to your resort.
If you take exit 3 then you will need another 50 cents and this booth is not manned so need exact change.
Disney is very easy to get to from MCO and easy to drive around.
