Arriving EARLY at AK?

I am staying off-site and we'll be driving to the parks. I made a PS for Donald's at 8:00 am. I was told by the CM that we *may* not be able to get into the AK parking lot before 8:00 am b/c we are staying off-site. Something about needing our room key to get into the parking lot area?

Can someone confirm this for me? And if so, any suggestions?

Just about everytime we have driven to AK the past few times, they didn't allow any cars through the gate until nearly 8AM or whenever the park opened. If it was Extra Magic Hour day, it only opened right at the time the park opened for EMH.

If you are not first in line at the toll gate, you can't get up to show a room key.

We had a 8:15 PS last June and were not allow in the entrance gate before the official opening due to the animals. When we got to Donald's we found out no one was allowed early entrance despite the PS. The service however was very quick and we did not have any delay given that 8am, 8:15 and 8:30 were all going in at about the same time.
