Are you trying to loss 10 pounds before you go

I have ten pounds of weight left over from my pregnancy with my twins. We aren't going to Disney for a year, so hopefully I can lose that weight. I joined a gym and like PO have gained weight. Sigh.

I've lost 56.8lbs so far in just about a year. I plan to lose that again before I go in 1years time...
Good luck I am sure you can all do it.

I'm planning to lose 28 pounds before my next Disney trip. We are going down for the princess half in February. Since this time last year, I have dropped 45 and want to just keep going! It's long, slow and life changing but worth every calorie change!

Congrats to all for every pound you shed! You've added quality years to your life!!!!!

I got 16lb of 'baby weight' to lose for when we are there in March for our 2nd DD's 1st Birthday. I used to be a gym person so the muscles are still there, they've just been invaded by a lot of icky fat :crazy2:. Since I can't get to the gym (both DH and I work full time but on opposite schedules so our kids are always with one parent...) and it was too hot to take the kids running several weeks this summer, I got a Kinect! I've lost 15lb in 2 months by mixing up Your Shape (a total body workout game) and Zumba Rush. The Kinect is great because it actually measures specific points on my body to make sure I'm doing the exercises correctly. If I don't dip low enough during a push-up, that is reflected in my score. SO I have to work harder to make sure I get as many points as possible. Presently, I am starting to look like the winner of the Biggest Loser with my extra saggyness in my fat areas (belly, butt, thighs, upper arms) but that's why God invented Spanx!

My motivation is to be as healthy as possible and be in the best shape for as long as I can because I want to crawl and play on the floor with my grand kids (35 years from now).
But for Disney my motivation is to NOT be upset with how I look in the pictures. My girls deserve to joyfully look back on their WDW vacation pics. I believe that if I am not happy with how I look, that will come across in those memories.

Keep going folks! We're doing great!!!!!!!!!

Id like to jump in here! We are working on this too! Dh is just about where he wants to be but i still have about 19 lbs to my first goal. Not sure i will really make that in 6.5 weeks. But as close as i can get will be great! I definitely want to lose at least another 10. I've already lost 10 and know i can do it i just have to stay focused! My gains were not from pregnancies....i lost that pretty easily all 3 times thankfully. My problem was that i quit smoking about 3 1/2 years ago. I quit each time i was pregnant but picked up the bad habit soon after having the kids :( so when i finally quit for good i gained abt 30 lbs. its time it comes off! I know i will gain at disney so the plan is to get back and work on that plus another 10 or so by feb after vacation! Best of luck to all and love seeing everyones results!

I know what has helped me! BODY WRAPS

https://dogkrazy.myitworks.com/Shop/Product/135

if you have flab it tones, tightens and firms

between that and the estro rythm I started taken from them (I am a certain aged female) I have lost 5lbs in a month and 7 inches around the belly

I have more to lose than 10 lbs, overall, but have lost 8.5 so far. I'm following the new Atkins plan (more veggies) and feel fantastic! Pre-Atkins I was fatigued, achey, moody, anxious, and some other nasty symptoms you don't want to know about. Now, I'm full of energy and generally feel good all of the time :) I think the lack of wheat or gluten is having a big effect on me.

To get ready for our trip, I started a low-fat 1500 cal/day diet and exercised 3 times a week. It was torture! I still felt terrible and didn't lose a pound or an inch that whole month. Apparently, my body doesn't respond to that plan very well.

Now I exercise 3-4 times a week, eat high fat/mod protein/low carb, and eat between 1500-1700 calories a day. I think I love this plan :)

My real goal is to not be embarressed having my picture taken. I'd love to order Photopass this trip since it's our first trip as a family and I don't want to hide behind people for every freakin' photo!

Since moving to Orlando in March, I'm down 40lbs. I had two babies in less than 18 months and never lost everything from the first. I had/have a lot of work to do. I honestly attribute it to walking MILES around Disney every week and NOT getting treats when we go! It's tough to say no all the time (I do splurge on occasion for a Mickey bar!), but the walking and atmosphere really helps! I have 3lbs. until my pre-pregnancy weight and then I have another 10 after that to get to my goal weight. I'm hoping by Christmas to achieve my goal!

I joke with my DH that I have become a "Disney-Walker" much like the mall walkers, I just have MUCH better scenery and people-watching abilities! Can't wait to walk around Disney when it's all decked out!

I've lost 46lbs so far and I'd like to lose 15 more before my trip in December. I definitely plan on letting go of my goals while there and indulging. Then back on the wagon when I get home! I go to 7 different group exercise classes a week and I love it!

One of the many reasons we went last year was because I had dropped 60 pounds in over a year. I wanted to go to Disney *skinny*. I finally have family pictures where I feel good about how I look.

I wish you all lots of luck.

Can't believe I just found this post. I just got back from the gym. First time I have been in months. We leave 2 months from today. When I got back I told my wife I want to lose 10 pounds in the next two months. 30 minutes later I find this post. I think I got this. Good luck everyone.

Yeah they tell me it is easier for us men but I think it is hard . I myself have been working on lossing for two mouths now and I am glad to say I am down 28 pounds , DW just started but is down 9 so proud of her ... She has many meds and they kill her on lossing . :hourglass time is running so hit the gym and eat right is most important ... :moped:

I would *like* to lose 28 before Disney, but I don't think it is gonna happen in my timeframe. I have hit kinda of a plateau. I have gotten bummed about it. I put on 8lbs. I was at -42 pounds lost since Jan 1st. Currently at -34. I need to just get myself into gear again. I took a pic of myself by my birthday year sign at the PoP about a year and a half ago. I really want to see the change when I retake my pic by the sign this year!!

Wow! What a great motivator!

I've lost 40 lbs since March but need to lose 10 more in the next 62 days or I won't be able to do the Wild Africa Trek!

My daughter is also scheduled for the trek and the worry of seeing how disappointed she'd be if we can't go that morning is keeping me motivated (as well as the thought of losing the $400-some prepaid for the tour).

There is also no cheating when I know a CM is going to look at my weight on a scale that morning.

I've cut out almost all white carbs and trying to make sure I get in more protein while keeping my calories around 1500 a day. I'm also walking 2 miles day.

yes! I managed to lose 17 lbs so im happy i just hope I dont gain it back after all the good food!!!

Should add we scheduled the trek for the very first morning we are there, and then no one is going to say a thing about whatever I want to eat the rest of the trip ;-)

I'm currently down about 76 lbs since Feb, and I hope to knock off another 15 before my wedding next month (and subsequently my Disneymoon following). I was pretty close to my Feb weight when I last went in June 2011, so it should be a whole new experience at 350 instead of 441.

I must say, though, that Disney is much more friendly to people of size than Six Flags. I wasn't denied entry to a single attraction on my last trip (whereas I could only ride two thrill rides total at my local six flags) and the only two things that were kind of a tight fit were Space Mountain and Mission Space.

I will be hitting the gym as much as possible before my trip in 16 days to try and shed a few lbs before, but I dont think I can lose 10 without dieting.

However, after gorging myself in Disney for a week I am going to jump right on the 17 day diet. This is the only diet that has ever worked for me. I highly reccommend you try it. I guarantee you will lose at least 8lbs in 17 days -IF YOU FOLLOW IT 100%. So if you have 17 days before your trip I would suggest you try it. (but if you eat a ton right after you will gain the weight back , so just start it again when you get back).

The bad part is you would have to buy the book to get the most out of it. Its sort of like a modified atkins. Here are the basics of the first cycle:

-Every morning when you wake up have a glass of hot water and 1/2 lemon's juice in it
-NO carbs the first 17 days (but you are allowed 2 pieces of low fruit per day - apples, pears, oranges, peaches, plums, red grapes)
- 2 servings of pro-biotics (yogurt or kefir) per day (make sure its low sugar or sugar free yogurt
-You can have as much chicken/turkey as you want (no beef , pork or lamb). I dont eat seafood but you are allowed some fish, but not shellfish
-As many veggies (mostly all veg ...you cant have corn or black beans for example) on the first 17 days.
-condiments in moderation.

The food list is really specific. But you will not be hungry and you dont work out the first 17 days (well he tells you to walk for 17 minutes a day at least). There are 4 17 day cycles. Each cycle adds more types of food and more exercise. It kind of changes your lifestyle slowly. You will continue to lose more weight over the next three cycles and also learn portion control.

My co-workers mother did this diet and she doesnt have to take her blood pressure medication anymore. It really changes the way you eat, and you may be surprised that you dont even like greasy food as much anymore.

The book is the 17 Day Diet by Dr. Mike Moreno. I usually don't promote people buy things but I had tried atkins and south beach diet, and restricting calories, writing down everything I ate ..and this is the only thing that actually worked. I can't live my life without carbs, but slowly reducing my intake of them worked pretty well. I also work a lot and getting to the gym everyday is a challenge.

Another thing I can reccommend - there is a free APP called "My Fitness Pal" where you can track your weight, and enter what you eat if you want. You can also program your goals and it will tell you how many calories you can eat per day (if that is what you like to do). I just use it to track my weight. It is nice to see the line go down on the chart!

good luck everyone!:cheer2:

I need to lose about 20 pounds, so I ordered Nutrisystem. It has been SO easy. I stepped up the number of times I am going to the gym, too. I have lost about 9 pounds in 7 weeks. I think the loss seem less because I have gained muscle weight. My shorts are huge now! It has been an easy plan to follow. I also feel like by losing it slowly by healty with their pre-portioned meals, I will keep it off as opposed to a crash diet where you tend to gain it right back.

Good luck and contrats to all of those who are doing so will own their diets!

i have 50 days left to get in better shape for my disney trip.last time i was there i actually lost ten pounds! must have been all the walking !

But With All The Walking I Do Now And The Gym I'm Hoping I Will Be At My Goal So I Can Enjoy The Food & Wine Festival In Style With No Worries !

Good Luck My Friends And See You There !
