Are YOU dressing up for MNSSHP?

I think I'm going to go with the Mad Hatter dress. I love it and DH thinks it be really cute for me. The only problem is I don't think I can get him to go as an Alice in Wonderland character. Will I look silly going as a movie character by myself with him being something that doesn't match?

No way! Everyone will be dressed up, I say if you want to do it, go for it! If nothing else maybe you can buy/make him a shirt that says something funny.. like, I'm with the MAD one, or something Alice related :)

Wait, what about your DD, will she be there? You can dress her up as Alice, and then you would have someone in theme with you! They have some ADORABLE infant/toddler alice costumes!

Lucy isn't going to the party. She'll only be a year old then, the party will be a little late for her so she's going to stay with my parents so we can stay late. But I really like that idea though. I could still dress her up and her and my parents could hang out with us for a while before they start letting people out of the park. So, even though she won't be staying that could still work and I won't be the only Alice character there.

haha...but I also love the idea for the t-shirt for DH. That would be hilarious and he thinks I'm a little "mad" anyways. He just told me he'd "consider" going as an Alice character. I might have to switch to the Cheshire cat though so he can be Hatter. That's IF he'll even do it.

I like the Bert and Mary Poppins idea too. If I could make a good short length and short sleeve Mary dress we'd be set. All the actual Mary dresses though hang down to the ankles and are long sleeves. Yuck...that would not be pleasant in the heat!

Aww, that would be cute! AT least you guys could get your pics together in front of the castle! AND you are prob going to be wearing the same outfits on Halloween, so it is not as if you would be wasting money buying Lucy's costume!

If it wasn't so darn hot, Lucy could be a penguin if you and DH were Bert and Mary!~ :rotfl:

we are still trying to think of something for our family (Dh, 2ds and me). Last year we were all pirates and had a blast-side note Sept 18 is national talk like a priate day-it even made the news in Orlando. Yup, you guessed it, that was the day of the party we attended. We are having a hard time because I want a disney themed costume but haven't found one we like yet.

:confused3 I am having a hard time of thinking a theme with 3 boys!! Toy Story would work, 1 DS Woody, 1 DS Buzz, You Jessie, and DH as Zurg,Bullseye or AL (from TS2)?? But your poor DH would burn up!

Then I thought you could do a Narnia theme, but that movie seems to be less popular lately.

Of course, the Alice theme would probably work, and so would Peter Pan!

I have been playing with the pirate idea, but there were so many people dressed as pirates last year. Dh and I just got new "cowboy" boots in the fall, I think we might play up on that one, probably just a few accessories and we would be good to go.

It is soooo hard for me to come up with anything couples wise, since I am so heavy and a dress is not really practical, besides I don't really like dresses. I have the long red cape with hood, but can't really come up with anything, and I don't really want to be something scary.

I'm trying to decide if we want to dress up or not. I may just make us some orange & black tie dye Mickey head t-shirts. If we dress up, I'm leaning towards Peter Pan characters. Ds's could be Jon & Michael (but it would be hot to put the baby in footed pj's), I could be Wendy and Dh either Peter Pan or Captain Hook. I don't think he'd do Peter and the Captain Hook costumes I've seen are really expensive! I could also wear a pic of dd dressed up as Tinker Bell around my neck.

Just not sure yet....

Tinker~Lol...that penguin idea would be so cute! We actually call her "Monkey" and I found a totally cute Abu or Aboo, however you spell that, costume online. If she were like a year older I would force Michael to be Aladin whether he liked it or not just so she could be Aboo. She even has the same spunky little attitude too.

Next time we go to MNSSHP we'll be the Aladin family :cool1:

Suzanne~You and your DH could be Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf! You could just wear your red cape and whatever is comfortable underneath like pants or shorts. If you have long hair you could braid pig tails. Your DH could just find like wolf ears or hat or something so its not as hot as a full wolfy suit! I'll try to think of some more but that's the first non-pirate thing that came to me.

Do you have pics?? It sounds sooo cute! I love that you guys did Peter Pan!! Sooo cute! :lovestruc

As soon as I figure out how to post a picture I will. I have to admit we did look pretty cute! We got a picture with Ariel and it looked like we were at Mermaid Lagoon.

Awww, that is precious! Maybe you can pick it up after Halloween on clearance this year (in a 2T) and save it for next year! That would be adorable!

Awww! I look forward to seeing them!!

So, I thought of another easy "boy heavy" theme.. Pinocchio! You could have a Pinocchio, Jimney Cricket, Gepetto for a DH, and DW could be The Blue Fairy! And if you had extra boys.. they could have donkey ears and tails like the boys from Pleasure Island :rotfl:

If somebody needed a couple what about Linguine and Collette from Ratutoulle(sp?) You can add Remy the rat to the mix.

That is a good idea!! Chef coats are very inexpensive on EBAY, and you could have someone on the DISigns board make you nametags!

Yes they are. I ordered DDs from a magazine for about $12 It was a cheap and easy costume.

That's a good idea, don't know if he would go along or not. Unfortunately, I no longer have long hair, and haven't since college.

I had looked at a flapper costume, since I have the bobbed hairdo and most of the pictures the girls have the bobbed hair and the dress is very simple, problem is I can't find a dress large enough.
