Are YOU dressing up for MNSSHP?

We're going September 22nd. Its funny you said Mad Hatter because I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going as. DH wants to go as something manly like a pirate or something. I'm going to dress DD up as Alice before she goes back to the resort with my parents so at least we'll get some cute pictures together by the tea cups!

I've been quite the nag lately trying to get DH to make up his mind. But if he had his way, he'd go as a Storm Trooper even though it'd be way too hot for it.

We're going Sept. 22nd also! We JUST got our tickets in the mail today!! :cool1::woohoo::yay:::cheer2: I'm SO excited! We are still at a loss about costumes, though.

I designed some Incredible t-shirts last year & thought about DH & I wearing those. We could let DS & DD dress up in real costumes as Violet & Dash. (Can't see DH or myself in skin-tight leotards anywhere-much less in public!) :rotfl2:

I LOVE all of the pics everyone has posted. The Mary Poppins dresses are my favorite!

Yes, I will be, if I am off-duty at any time :) This is me:

My husband is being a pain, too! LOL

There are 7 of us going and we are all dressing up as characters from Hercules but now DH is whining about being Zeus! I told him he doesn't have to wear a fake beard, that people will get who he is without it (Hello? Glow-in-the-dark lighting bolts and a fuschia toga trimmed in gold? Who else would he be!?:confused3 )

Haha...my husband would have a stroke if I tried to get him to wear fuschia...

I wanted to be Cleopatra and him be Mark Anthony.,.but he;s afraid that the costume would be a little airy...:lmao:

I'm so glad to hear my husband isn't the only one being stubborn! Haha

(He's looking over my shoulder right now and rolling his eyes at all of us :P)

Tink you are so lucky! My DH isn't really embarrassed by anything but since he loves Halloween so much it really really matters to him what he'll be wearing. So he's taking his sweet time to pick out the absolute perfect thing!

haha...mine asked me that if I post any pics of him dressed up that I had to blur out his face...:lmao:I think that he is tormenting me since it is Disney...I tend to drive him crazy with my obsessive Disney compulsion..

This is our group last year at Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at CA Adventure Park in October.

See, my husband doesn't mind dressing up...but he has a thing against Zeus for some reason. Maybe you're right ammeador2, maybe it's the fuschia. Obviously, green doesn't bother him! He was aiming for dead tourist but with all that green he'd slathered on himself people kept yelling out "It's the Hulk on vacation!" :lmao:

haha...I was thinking maybe he was going for Genie after he was set free! :rotfl:

We are going but I dont think our costumes will be elaborate-probably t shirts and hats or something not sure yet.

I bring LOTS of costumes and accessories for my daughter. I pack at least an extra suitcase (or 2!) for all the stuff. I get hosed in extra baggage fees, but the photos are priceless!

Thanks so much! I'm already working on some special costumes for our fall trip......

Sorry to say that Lumiere is not a normal meet & greet. That was a special photo op they let us have because of the gown my daughter was wearing. A "magical moment" for us.......

The costumes are a labor of love for me, and I'm just glad that my daughter enjoys wearing them as much as I enjoy making them. The extra magic they have brought our way is just icing on the cake!

Haha...that's awesome. :thumbsup2 I thought the Hulk too when I saw this picture! I love all the costumes though. It looks like everyone had a blast!

i have an odd question about dressing up? im not going this year, but will be next year :cool1: it will be my first party and i cant wait to dress up...but since it will still be september and pretty warm i figure ill have to find something that wont be too heavy or hot...i was thinking tinkerbell ( i love her ) but i also want the costume to be appropriate..its still disney afterall...and some of the ones i see seem a little too ehh...short.... i mean no matter what i wear ill be wearing like short shorts underneath but what is deemed apprropriate/ inappropriate? or is it just take a guess? i see also some cute snow white/alice costumes...but again i think they are too sexy? i would of course tone it down but i suppose if i think its too sexy then i have my own answer huh? lol ok i think maybe i just needed to write it out ? but any input on what peopel think would still help!

The outfits on some women on regular days are offensive - with their whole address hanging out! But yYou'r right to keep it clean and not too sexy! It is Disney after all!!) However my DS was the ONLY one last October with a warewolf mask on and we GOT scathing looks (I guess he offended "the Not So Scary" part of the party)?!?!?!?LOL!
And he was hot in October with the full face mask on, it was drizzeling so he also had on a wind breaker.

My suggestion to you is to buy some tights to put under the Tink costume- not panty hose, but actual tights (you can buy them at Target)- you could get green or white. Thats what I did with my Peter Pan Costume that was really short last year! It really made it look more appropriate (I thought!). Also Disneyshopping.com has a very conservative Tink costume during Halloween ;) HTH

I'm so excited I just ordered my tickets yesterday. I've never done one of the party things. We are going Sept 22nd. It's me (29), dh (29) and dd (2). DD has her Cinderella ballerina costume, so she'll probably wear that. I have a pattern to make a Tinker Bell one but my sewing skills need work and my machine's broke. But I've got awhile right? :rolleyes1
The odds of getting my husband to dress up are slim...he's only dressed up once before. He glued Smarties candies to an old pair of jeans - smarty pants, get it? His costume would probably be something like that
I have a costume that was my mom's from 1976 when her town was doing a lot of bicentennial stuff. It's a nice colonial dress, not fancy but very pretty. And I could carry around a fake pirate sword and be Elizabeth. :woohoo:

Hi!

Although its not Disney, I ordered a costume of Emily, the Corpse Bride. I got it from Ebay. I took it a size too small so that way I am FORCED to loose some weight if I want to wear my costume!!!!!:thumbsup2

I dont know what my sister will be wearing, we keep it a secret from eachother which makes it more fun!!!!:cutie:

Finally worked out what I want to dress up as for MNSSHP! after going through many ideas but finding problems with it (not 'disney' enough / not right / not cute enough etc) i decided i definately want to go as Tinkerbell - and my DBF has said he'd go as Peter Pan too :cloud9:

I can't wait..it should be so much fun. I think that I am going to order my tickets soon!
