I will be going with my childrens youth choir to FL the week of July 4th:scared1: We are going to be hitting Disney for 3 days and the kids will have park hoppers. The only way we will be able to get from park to park would be by Disney bus since we will be arriving each day on an Abott bus (styaing off property). I have never park hopped without having a car, so I didnt know if there were busses that travel between parks. I dont remember seeing a bus stop for something like that when we were there in Dec. I really dont think the kids will need hoppers. I think it will take too much time to get between parks. Anyway, if someone knows the answer to my question I would appreciate any information.

I think I was told that you have to take the bus to a resort and get the bus from there to your next stop. Not sure if that is correct or not but I think I was told that some time ago! Hope to help!

I have taken a bus to Epcot from AK and a bus to MK from MGM...so I know it's possible at those two parks. You can always walk over to the CR from MK in order to get a bus to AK or MGM. You can take the monorail from MK to the TTC and change over to the Epcot line. Then reverse it if you are traveling from Epcot to MK. If you are at MGM or Epcot, it's an easy walk, or boat ride, to the other park. There is a walkway that runs beside the canal from MGM, then it connects with the lake at the Epcot resorts (S/D, YC/BC, BW), then goes past these resorts to the International Gateway in Epcot. It's about a 15-20 minute walk. Or you can take the boat, which makes stops at the resorts in between MGM and Epcot's International Gateway.

There are indeed busses between the parks.

You may be confusing this with the fact that there are no busses between resorts (other than those that share a route of course).

The Buses are for people staying at Disney resorts, although I have never been asked to show my room key.

Not true. Your park pass entitles you to the use of Disney transportation.

There are park-to-park buses. The buses to/from the MK pick up at the TTC. There are no buses from DTD to a park, you need to go to a resort and transfer.

Be aware that there are no buses going from the resorts directly to Downtown Disney.

I tried to go from Epcot to DTD two years ago and was very frustrated. Had to take the monorail to one of the resorts, and then wait for the DTD bus at the resort. After nearly an hour and a half, I finally gave up waiting for the bus at the Contemporary. Wish I had just taken a cab from Epcot to DTD.

OOPS, I'm sure you MEANT to say no buses from the PARKS to DTD.

There ARE buses going to/from DTD to the RESORTS.

---------

And DITTO that there are buses that run between the theme-parks for ALL guests.

(MK's Park-to-Park buses terminate at TTC, as was said.)

I believe you mean there are no buses that go between DTD and the parks. You can only take a bus from DTD to a resort. If you are at DTD and you want to get to Epcot, then take a BW or YC/BC bus and then walk from there. Not quick but it's doable. With MK, you could take a bus to the CR and then walk to MK. MGM? Same as Epcot. AK? bus to AKL and then bus to AK. They stopped the buses to the parks from DTD because people were parking at DTD for free, all day, and then taking the buses to the parks. All to save a few dollars. So....Disney stopped those buses.

I think that's the ONLY way to get to DTD from the resorts. And you can't get to the parks from DTD. I believe this is because people would park at DTD for free, and hop on a bus to a park instead of having to go to a resort from DTD and catching a bus to a park from the resort.

DTD buses ONLY go to resorts, I'm pretty sure.

When I was there in September there were definately no park to park buses, you had to take a bus to a resort or the TTC and then go to a different park. I have heard they adjust the buses though depending on the time of year, and September is very slow.

If you look closely at the bus stop numbers/signage at the different parks, you will see there are other parks listed. MGM will have a stop for MK and AK. MK has buses that run from TTC. Epcot has stops for AK. AK has stops for all of them if I remember correctly. AK is especially confusing though. You wouldn't notice the park bus stops on the signage unless you are looking for them. If you are busy looking for your resort stop, you won't notice. Same thing at MGM. But they are there. I used them in May, again in Oct and then in Dec.

i must of missed it, we tried to go from park to park once and ended up just taking the first resort bus then switching. Good to know.

You could do that, sure - but it'll probably be easier to go directly from park to park whenever possible:

Magic Kingdom to:
ºOº Epcot: Ferry or monorail to TTC, then monorail to Epcot
ºOº Animal Kingdom: Ferry or monorail to TTC, then bus to AK
ºOº MGM: Ferry or monorail to TTC, then bus to AK

Epcot to:
ºOº Magic Kingdom: Monorail to TTC, then monorail or ferry to MK
ºOº Animal Kingdom: Bus directly to AK
ºOº MGM: Boat or walk from International Gateway or
ºOº MGM: Bus from front entrance of Epcot to MGM

MGM to:
ºOº Magic Kingdom: Bus to TTC, then monorail or ferry to MK
ºOº Epcot: Boat or walk to International Gateway or
ºOº Bus to front entrance of Epcot
ºOº Animal Kingdom: Bus to AK

Animal Kingdom to:
ºOº Magic Kingdom: Bus to TTC, then monorail or ferry to MK
ºOº Epcot: Bus
ºOº MGM: Bus

Wow, thanks for all the replies. Good to know that we can move between the parks, but I still doubt that they will. We wont be going to DTD. No time for that on this trip- at least during our 3 park days.

Robinb is correct. Your hopper ticket entitles you use of all WDW transportation, they even tell you that while taking the tram from the parking lot. There are buses that take you from park to park, except from the MK park, you must go to TTC. And there is no DTD bus that will take you to a park anymore because off site folks and locals would park for free at DTD and take a bus to a park. SSR has a problem with that still.

I think it would be really hard and time consuming to park hop with a large group of kids. I'd stick to one park per day.
