Are the seats super duper small on SW?

I plan on dropping lots of pooh pounds before we go, but I'm still wondering how small the seats really are on SW? 17.25 inches sounds little bitty to me even for a skinny minny! LOL!

Anyone care to give some insight?

I am 6'2" and 210, and I don't have any problems with SWA.

We flew SW in OCT and I felt like there was more room on that flight than on the flight with US Air in Aug. Also, they were much more comfortable.

Relax. Bigger folks than you fit just fine on SWA flights. Plus, if you have family in the seat next to you, you can raise the armrests and give a few extra inches (and cuddly-ness).

SW is not any different than other airlines in terms of seat size.

The whole seat size thing comes in to play for "wider" people over people who carry all of their weight in front of them. I am 6'1" 275, but carry most of my weight in front, so no problems with the seat. Another person who has a much larger waist may have problems.

SW is not the only carrier to have these types of rules when it comes to buying two seats. It all comes down to will the people next to you be comfortable if you are in their space? Best bet is to have family, preferably a child next to you so you can raise that arm rest and get a little more room.

17.25" is the standard seat width on a 737 no matter which airline you're on. Pretty much all coach seats are between 17 and 18 inches wide regardless of the airplane type or airline.

I am 5'6" and 250lbs and fit fine with arm rest down and I have a big bottom !
