Are old timers getting new guides?

I came home to a message yesterday from a DVC guide asking us to call if we had any questions. He is NOT the guide we have had before. I seem to remember others saying their guide had changed. Is this an ongoing practice now?

In my braindead caffeine deprived state I though you originally meant Handbooks. We'd not gotten ours yet.

As for guides, I've no clue. Our original guide left, then came back, but we've not heard from DVC other than the routine paperwork in about 2 years.

Cheers,
Joe

Maybe your original guide is no longer there.

We still have the same one - at least his name is still on the emails. We haven't spoken since we purchased our add on in 2000.

Best wishes -

Our original guide, who was the guide my in-laws original bought from in '94, is still my in-laws guide as far as I know. If I got the story correct, she dropped down to part-time right after we bought our points and we were transferred to our current guide -- that was 2000. We've had the same guide ever since (at least I think -- bought more points about a year ago but we haven't talked to him since then).

Our original guide was Kimble Moore, for our last add-on he was out of the office that day (we added on in person) and Randy Cook handled the transaction, and we we're switched to him at that time. As far as I know, Randy is still our guide.

We have had the same guide since '92, Patti Douglas. When I log onto the DVC website it still states my guide is Patti.

We've had Michelle since we first contacted DVC in '96.

Bobbi :flower:

Hey, that's a good idea! I think I'll log into the website and see if it mentions my guide!

My first call to DVC was in 1993 before I bought, and I talked with Bernard.
He is still there and it just so happens that I spoke with him again yesterday.

Our original guide was Bettie Pleasant. Several years ago she went to the Celebration office and has left DVC altogether now - leaving tha area altogether. We were assigned to another guide and last year I had the opportunity to visit the SSR office and was put in contact with Ken Bradshaw who has now been assigned to us. He has contacted us several times since we met with him last year.

I think most changes are due to guides changing their work relationship with DVC - not because they don't want us anymore! ;)

I just got a call this week from Joaquin Alvarez telling me that he was our new guide. I asked if our previous guide, Myra Ramirez, had "moved-on" and he said, yes that was the case.

Where did you find that on the website? I just logged in, and it says nothing about who my guide is.

That explains it, because I got a call from the same person, and Myra was our guide too. Perhaps Joaquin will be more attentive than Myra was anyway! I could never get ahold of her. We originally had Randy Kruegar, and he was great!

Diane, when you get the Member Clubhouse e-mail newsletter it has the guides name at the top. I am not sure about the website. We bought our first contract in 2003 so we are pretty new, but we have had Jim McCoy all along. We bought our add-on from TTS, never really talk to Jim much.

When I joined in 1994, Randy Krueger was my guide. A couple of years later, I got a letter from Julie Hughes stating that she was our new guide. She remains our guide still. From what I have read on other posts, Randy Krueger is still working as a DVC guide. Don't know why we were changed; no big deal for me. I like her a lot, and we don't communicate anyway, unless I am doing an add-on. Maybe as new guides were hired, they split up the number of clients in the earlier years? Just guessing.

Candace, Randy was made a VP in charge of something at DVC for a couple of years in there. That is when we lost him. He then ended up back as a guide again. I REALLY thought he was a great guide. The two we had after him were difficult to get ahold of.
