Infinite yes. Besides a better overall hotel, better accomodations, and (I know this will make me sound stuck up but trust me I'm not I'm just pointing out the obvious) nicer quality of people, all have their perks. AKL-animals outside rooms, BC and YC-walk/boat to EPCOT and DHS, Poly, GF, Contemporary-monorail service, BWI-shops and walking to parks (I believe), and WL-seclusion, best theming (in my opinion), boat to MK.

When I plan a trip, and the deluxe is nearly twice what we pay for a mod, my #1 consideration is, would my kids prefer going twice to the world or staying in a nice resort once? You can guess which I decide? We stay at French Quarter or Riverside every time. Perfect example, we were just at French Quarter in Nov, and are going back to Riverside in August...for less than 1 trip to Poly. Just my .02! K

Totally agree. I guess if you just have money to burn it doesn't matter. I just can't help but think of all that extra money could buy!!

To me it depends on which deluxes and which moderates. There are a few deluxes that I just don't like so they would definitely not be worth it.

I enjoy the extra amenities of the deluxe like balconies, inside halls, dining options and transportation options. So my answer would be yes, most of the time. There are some deluxe resorts I have no interest in staying at.

Because we go to WDW 2x a year, we sometimes stay moderate, and am happy at POR. Our fav moderate.

I just have to comment on that... It will just depend on the luck of the draw.. Have heard (both literally and figuratively) deluxes that sounded like it was a college dorm, and a value where we were next to a family with 3 young kids and 2 parents (so one was really young for the 5th occupant) and never heard a peep out of them... Plus often those 'better quality' people feel they deserve more are somehow special then 'normal' people / think rules dont apply to them etc etc. Where those that are at values appreciate they are able to do this for their family, probably have worked and saved and pinched pennies and truly appreciate it more.

Now to answer the OP... Since we joined DVC we really do like and will only stay 'deluxe'. If we for some reason lose that, or actually get to go not on points CSR would be where we are.. And we would have no issues staying value either, just like the deluxes better...

This thread reminds me that I need to stay at one of the Port Orleans resorts someday soon, lots of positive feedback from alomst *everyone* who has stayed there and it's at a "moderate" price(for Disney anyways).

I had an awful experience at this resort and have read many reviews very similar to my own experience.

I hope you do have a good experience.

I voted "other" because I believe that the dynamics of the vacation play into the value of the resort.

Most of the time we stay in a Moderate. My favorite is POFQ but I also like CBR. We are not commando folks and do enjoy the resort amenities so the resort is important to us. Once in a while we use the resort more and that is when we stay Deluxe. For instance this trip we are arriving on Thanksgiving Day. We decided to stay at the BC because my DGD (and I) wanted to enjoy the pool as well as that nice Epcot location. The extra money is worth it because we plan on spending more time than usual at the resort.

If we planned on more park time than resort time a moderate would be fine. I always try to factor in our vacation goals before booking a resort to make sure our money is spent in a purposeful way.

I chose "other" as well as our first deluxe stay is in August. We have made our way up the ranks from values to the mods. We've stayed at POFQ and found it a bore. CSR was beautiful and we loved the queen beds. We've always wanted to stay at a deluxe and based on $ we're starting at AKL.:wizard:

My favorite Deluxe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have never stayed at a moderate and probably never will! Personally i love deluxes for their location! I would stay at AKL more if the location was better.

I guess someone will have to enlighten me on the obvious.... Nicer quality of people?? Are you referring to the level of service provided by the CMs?

DH and I love EPcot and DHS so BC for us . The location is unbelievable. SAB can't be beat , and soooo many food options. Love it

Nope, I'm fairly certain they mean the deluxe resorts, since they cost more, draw a 'higher class' of people, which in turn means 'better' people. Of course, it's a ridiculous statement. Money doesn't provide class, and even if it did, I think it's a stretch to say the folks that fork over $3500 for a Disney vacation at Pop Century are somehow 'slumming it'. But I've certainly witnessed plenty of rude, sloppy behavior from others during all of our Deluxe stays.

We're wrapping up 2012 with two stays at Beach Club, one at AKL, and one at POR. But I'm MOST excited about our stay at AoA in January. Apparently that makes me a lower quality of person. :lmao:

IMO if I am not staying at a Deluxe I would rather stay at a value. The difference from a value to a moderate is just not big enough to pay for it. Especially since the values now have free wi-fi and refrigerators. One of my best views was at POP over looking the lake.

I feel deluxe are worth it because of the location, I like being able to walk to a resort or take a boat.

As to the comments above. I don't think that there is a better class of people at deluxe. I do however believe there are less people at a deluxe and it may feel like a "better class" because it isn't as crowded. I saw jerks when I stayed at GF and at POP, I certainly wouldn't say there were more at POP.

Our next trip we are at AoA at the beginning and AKL at the end and I am looking forward to both!

Disboards is too sensitive. When I say better people to go deluxe I don't mean anyone who goes to moderate or value is low quality. I'm talking about all the rude foreigners, the people who bring cases of beer into the rooms, and another feature that I don't need to say but is obvious.

What about the people who go to deluxe CL's and have one too many of the free nightcaps? Ahum. And considering I'm a foreigner... never mind. I'm sure you wouldn't lump me in with all those "other" rude foreigners. (Cough.)

Aaaaaaanywho.

We usually stay moderate. I'd rather spend my money on souvenirs or food than the deluxes. I do kind of like the beach club, contemporary, and wilderness lodge. Never tried AKL, but would. It just seems like, despite the perks, it does NOT seem worth it to upgrade. CSR is my fav mod, but really I like all the mods. I have not stayed at a value and wouldn't, personally. I like having a TS and I just don't really like how the values feel. So, for me, a moderate is a big upgrade from a value. But a deluxe is not that big of a deal. But it is a huge price difference. When I've gotten room discounts before we've stayed at deluxes.

This time I thought we would go all out and booked a CL Poly trip. I'm pregnant (and I don't have easy pregancies) so I thought the monorail and convenient location of the Poly would be a boost, but literally every day I cringe at the thought of spending that much money. We *do* technically have the money... but I just don't like the idea of spending it on the hotel room. I'm still going back and forth on that. I should make up my mind quick...

We love our deluxe stays. We are a family that will spend a ton of time in our resort so the bigger rooms and amenities are huge to us (we are as into the resorts as we are the parks). I especially love having a balcony where I can sit out and sip my morning coffee and watch the "World" wake up before my family does. Then at night, DH and I like to sit out there and watch the "World" go by with a glass of wine in hand all the while the kids are in bed sleeping or watching Stacey :goodvibes.

Now with that said, we also like the moderates too. Even though they have smaller rooms (most of the time) and don't have balconies, we do really enjoy our stays there. Moderates have wonderful amenities too and the resorts are gorgeous in their own way. We have only stayed at POFQ (our favorite moderate) and POR but would love to stay at CBR and CSR sometime. If we want to save some money we wouldn't hesitate in staying at a mod.

I'm staying GF RPC next week and I'm bringing my large bottle of vodka along with a soft side cooler to use in the cabana I rented for every day.

I guess I'd better leave my booze at home since the GF is too classy for that.

Not even close. Stop being so melodramatic and take what I have to say at face value and stop thinking I'm trying to insult you.

:rotfl::rotfl: We usually stay at a deluxe, and we we are from Canada, and usually bring beer into the room with us:rotfl::rotfl:
