Are Black Squirrel Common Where You Live?(pic)

We have gray ones around here...HOWEVER, in our yard we have an ALBINO squirrel. He is the oddest thing, all white with pink eyes and we cannot imagine how he survives in the wild, but he must!! However he must get along with the other gray ones as there is now a baby albino squirrel out there too...I am afraid being white he might be good kitty bait...

We have black squirrels and some red and grey ones, too. What's kind of cute is our little kitten is a fluffly black kitten that looks just like some of our squirrels!!!

We only have gray ones in Western NY but I have seen black ones in the Adirondacks.

Yeah, the albino squirrel is usually the rare squirrel around here. I've never seen a black squirrel, but there are plenty of grey squirrels in the backyard. Thanks for the pic.

We have grey squirrels and huge fox squirrels. Some of them are so tame they will come to the back door looking for a pecan.

When my parents visit, my dad lets one he's affectionately named "Bummer" climb his pant leg, sit on his knee and eat a pecan.

We have lots of black squirrels here. We see the occasional gray squirrel but mainly have black ones

I grew up in Iowa and there are lots of black squirrels in Iowa!

There are black squirrels all over the campus at Princeton. I remember my first time walking across campus for my job back in the mid-80's. I saw one and I was like Holy Cow a rare black squirrel, I was getting ready to rush into my office and say guess what I saw? When I saw another and another and another....boy I would have felt like such an idiot!! They used to jump into my office window and steal my snacks off of my computer. One time a squirrel made off with my entire sandwich.

I see an occasional one in my yard. Where we used to live, in a town about 10-15 minutes from where we live now, we had white squirrels in the yard!

Very cute! I've never seen one around here. We do have one squirrel with some unusual markings, like light, light almost blond stripes on his face. He's cute.

Big, fat brown squirrels here. An hour away where I used to live all skinny black squirrels. I like the ones here better.

My in-laws live near Mt Union College where a mating pair of black squirrels evnetually replaced the red and grey! The first time I saw them, I couldn't believe it!

I think we have some here, mostly the brown ones though. We feed them throughout the year, http://www.wildbirdsuets.com/squirrel.htm . Get them at Walmart for about 4 bucks for 2 logs, last about a week or so. Great fun. Cute pictures!!
