AQR (Attraction Queue Return) Usage Reports

What is the difference between Attraction Queue Re-entry and Return To Queue? So far (over 2 weeks) I haven't been able to figure or find this out.
I think many folks have used the terms interchangeably, which has lead to a lot of confusion.

Attraction Queue Re-entry will usually require the individual/party to enter the queue. Then if needed the individual may leave the queue. They will rejoin their party via the LL. There may be some variation to this process but that is the general gist of it.

Return to Queue may involve a return time, similar to wheelchair return times at non-accessible queues. This is very limited and whether it is offered may depend on several factors.

I did some testing at MK yesterday! I’ll just stick to facts here and keep it short, but I’ll do a full detailed report on the other big thread later…

What ride? Peter Pan
Where in the queue were you when you left? About 15 minutes into the SB queue - the room with the shadow wall.
How hard was it to find a CM? Impossible in the line - I had to backtrack through all of the queue I’d already walked through and find a CM at the entrance. (I did ask after exiting if there was an easier way, and exit in the queue I should have used - CM said no: only way to get out is to walk back through.)
Are you or someone in your party that had to leave the queue in a mobility aid like ECV/wheelchair/stroller as wheelchair/M1 Abrams/etc ? No.
How many adults/children (besides you) in your party, and age of kids? Just me, an adult.
How long were you gone? Around 15 minutes.
How hard was it to get back to your party? No party as I was solo - I asked when I left the line what to do and the CM said just come back to find them. They weren’t there when I returned, so I explained to the new-to-me CM who was at the SB entrance and they did something in MDE, had me tap in at the LL entrance, and sent me through the LL.
Did any guests give you flack (probably not an issue for the guy with the abrams)? No… but I’ll note that 90% of Guests were looking at their phones, so I had to do a LOT of “excuse me!” And “so sorry, I need to exit” and “pardon me - thank you!” ing to make me way out. People were pleasant and friendly, so no issues there - it’s just difficult in such a small space.
How did the whole thing go? Okay - in the future, I would NOT get in line first; rather, I’d ask a CM before getting in line. See below…

What ride? POTC
Where in the queue were you when you left? I never entered the SB queue.
How hard was it to find a CM? Easy - A LL CM wasn’t busy, so I approached them and asked what I should do if I needed to leave the queue. They asked if I was unable to wait in the line and I said, “yes, basically - I’m okay for about 10-15 minutes, so I probably can’t make it through the 30 minute posted wait.” They sent me straight through the LL, no MDE or tapping in involved.

How did the whole thing go? SO much easier than trying to backtrack through a line! Even if I’d been given a time to return instead of being sent straight into the LL, that would have been better than needing to exit SB halfway through.

Just to note -- I believe your experience as a solo guest could very well differ from what a larger party might experience, especially on the 2nd attraction.

Although it went well for you, the point of come back and find me and then the CMs changed is a bit scary.

Thank you for posting.

Absolutely, though the impression I got at both attractions is that they’d prefer folks to ask first if they know a member of their party won’t be able to wait the entire time in SB. How they’d opt to manage the return of the member/s sitting out or leaving and returning is clearly dependent on the particular ride’s queue layout, party size and needs, and I imagine how crowded things are, too.

You’re welcome! And the change of CMs was honestly no problem: they all seemed very clear that AQR is a thing and knew how to handle it.

This is great info! Thanks so much for testing it out. Now the important question is…did you get on Tiana’s?

I did not! I got a BG at the 1pm drop and was within 9 groups of being called back… when it went down. I loitered around MK for another hour or so before giving up and going back to ride GOTG at EP - so obviously Tiana’s started back up and my group was called just as the monorail pulled into the EP station. :rotfl: I wasn’t up to making the return trip and didn’t have time to ride GOTG and Tiana’s at that point, so I bagged it. But I’ll be back in a couple weeks to ride it with everyone else, so it was okay!

Bummer! But oh well, you will get on sooner or later. I will be there last week of October and hopefully they will get all this downtime worked out soon.

Agree but I think it might be helpful to get the name of the CM you originally spoke to. If I’m denied DAS for our trip in Aug I’ll likely have to use this as well. However I have my mom with me, who uses an ECV, and she’ll need to exit with me to assist me. Not sure how in the world that could even happen once we’re into the queue.

This is why I HIGHLY recommend asking a CM before getting into a queue - the CMs will be able to offer the best fit for their specific attraction queue. With Peter Pan, as my example, wheelchairs and scooters weren’t going through the regular queue at all because it’s too narrow and has too many tight turns - there’s a separate queue entirely for mobility devices. So if you and your mom need to wait together, they may put you both into that separate queue, which is quite easy to get out of, or maybe they’d give a return time.

I will be interested in your updates. I will be in WDW in September and will have my Mom and a ECV. I may need to leave the lines and will need to bring her with me as she cannot be alone in the queues.

Us too. DH uses a ECV at disney.

I doubt we'd get DAS anymore and plan to get genie plus a few days on our "big" park days. But we don't go at least half the rides due to mobility issues and since genie plus is one and done, it would be nice to know how to plan if we want to have a second round on a ride.

I go through Peter Pan with my electric wheelchair. I don’t know if ECV’s are allowed in but wheelchair users definitely wait in the standby line unless they have a non-mobility concern.

Thanks for correcting! I didn’t see any wheelchairs or ECVs in the SB queue, only lined up in the short outdoor queue to the far right, so I assumed they have a separate entrance.

Do you mean when someone asked about accommodations they weren't going through the queue with wheelchair and scooters or they were directing all wheelchairs and scooters to a different queue? I ask, because we have used the normal queue before, but only at rope drop or extended evening hours.

I didn't see anyone entering SB in a mobility device - I only saw them lined up in the small outdoor to the far right, but I have no idea how or why they got there. I didn’t see any mobility devices in the SB line ahead of or behind me, but maybe there just weren’t any at that particular time.

Peter Pan is also not as accessible as other rides- belt can’t be slowed or stopped, no wheelchair accessible cars, chair not allowed on the belt- so many with mobility challenges are not able to ride.

I’ll definitely post an update when we go. We’re ther Aug 26-Sep 3. My backup plan is to get G+ s well if I don’t get DAS. I do t mind trying AQR but there’s no way to get my mom and her ECV out of line if I’d need to leave. Hoping they’ll be some more reports before we leave.
