April's journey

april, i am so sorry that you are not satisfied with a 1 lb loss. i know it's tough when the weight comes off more slowly than you'd like. yes you've been eating well and working very hard, i understand why you want to see more! maybe you could shake things up a little bit to try to get the scale to move a bit more. i still think that 1 pound per week is a wonderful accomplishment, but you have to be happy too ::yes:: . good luck this coming up week, i hope things go better for you! :sunny:

:hyper: Yippee! 3 pounds gone this week. I was thisclose to a new clippie, but I guess that will wait until next week. Only one pound to go - and 6 pounds to that beautiful BLUE clippie. I WILL get there! What a great start to the No Foolin' Around challenge for me - just the boost I needed. I might even make my goal this time! :p

Everything's going pretty well right now. I'm still a little nervous about the slowdown in my weight loss (at least over the past couple of weeks), and I'm not sure if I should change my eating plan at all, or just keep on going right now. We'll see what happens next week. I definitely plan to keep pushing the water, setting myself goal of 6 bottles/day (~100 oz).

I'm also going to try and cut back on the number of caesar salads I seem to be eating lately - suddenly it has become my default choice, because I love the taste, but I keep conveniently forgetting about all the calories! While I'm not going to avoid them, my plan is to choose garden salads more often, and ALWAYS ask for the dressing on the side. It doesn't always work as well for caesar salads, but I can still enjoy the taste with only half the dressing.

I can't believe it, but I'm going to reach 200 days of exercise in a row on Friday. How did that happen? It must have been all the fabulous support I've found here on WISH. :grouphug: I am grateful every day for finding such a healthy, supportive, and fun place to share my journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful day! :sunny:

Congrats April on your new clippie. I just read your 6 month story. What an awsome accomplishment. Your dedication to exercise if phenominal. I guess I'd better get my happy self on my treadmil. Your pictures are sooo different. Weigh to go!

April,

I am just starting out here on Wish and reading through your journal is such an inspiration! Keep up the great work:cool1: Your pictures were amazing!!

Holly

200 days in a row of exercise is absolutely amazing! :bounce: you are doing such a great job, keep up the great work, you'll have that beautiful blue clippie in no time :teeth:

April, you have been doing such a fabulous job and I just KNOW you're going to have that beautiful blue clippie in no time at all! 200 days of exercise at the end of this week - in only 2 more days - girlfriend, you are amazing and truly an inspiration to me!! ::yes:: You've come so far - what has been working in the past will keep on working.

Day by day, April!! :sunny:

April, did you make it?? Even if you didn't, you had such a long string of days with exercise that I'm sure your body is so much fitter and healthier!

Hoping all is well and :sunny:

:jumping1: WOW!! 200 DAYS!! :jumping1:

April, that is AMAZING!! Congratulations!

Sorry I missed the thread on the main WISH board but thanks for posting the link! It's great to see lots of people celebrating your success. ::yes::

Did you treat yourself in some way for your great accomplishment?

Hope you have a fabulous day!!

:cool1: Doin' that clippie dance! :cool1:

I was SOOO surprised and ecstatic to find that I've made 4 pounds disappear this week! I thought my week had gone pretty well, but after the past few weeks, I didn't know what to expect. It looks like my body is back in the shrinking groove! Now I'm only 2 pounds away from that BLUE clippie - it *will* be mine next week. :smooth: At this rate, I may have to change my No Foolin' Around goal, which would be awesome. We'll see what happens next week...

I just realized that my BMI dropped to 39.5 this week - so I'm no longer morbidly obese! I am SOOOO HAPPY to be rid of that "morbid" label. Never again! Now to get rid of "obese" - only 54 pounds to go...

Exercise is going great as well. I made it to 200 days in a row last Friday - and I have no intention of stopping! Look out 300, here I come! ::yes:: I've been feeling stronger lately, running faster and biking harder. I love it! I felt great after my Curves workout last night. :goodvibes

I resisted some serious temptation at a conference this weekend - lunch included make-your-own sandwiches, potato salad and big fat COOKIES! The only veggies were the tomato, lettuce, etc. for the sandwiches. Argh! But I made the right choice - a lovely turkey on wheat with lots of veggies (and a little mayo and mustard), and nothing else! Woohoo! I've also been trying to snack a little less at night while at home, having only half a Skinny Cow sometimes, and avoiding the homemade granola sitting on the counter - but it's so hard! At least the granola is almost gone...

Have a wonderful week, everyone. YOU CAN DO IT - and we're all here to help!! :grouphug:

April - a new clippie!! :Pinkbounc YAY! :Pinkbounc

You're making all kinds of milestones these days!! You sound like you're on top of the world and you should be! You've come so far and you're doing a great job!

Onward and downward! :sunny:

I did it! :hyper: Check out that fabulous BLUE clippie down there! I love it! 4 pounds gone this week - I'm not sure how I did it, but I think TOM had something to do with it. :p Only 3 more pounds to my next clippie, 4 pounds to my next 10% goal (and new No Foolin' challenge goal), and 20 pounds to ONEDERLAND! :teeth: Look out, here I come...

I kicked up my exercise this week, adding another 5 minutes (~0.4 miles) to my morning jog. It's tough, but doable. My sister and I are signing up for a 4-mile race (the Los Gatos Great Race) on April 4. My goal is to run the entire way, maybe at 5 mph. We'll see!

I did really well this weekend, eating reasonably at a great French restaurant (only half a dessert - tarte Tatin, yum!) and handling an unexpected restaurant meal on Sunday. DH really wanted to go out, so we stopped at a pizza place. I had a big salad w/ dressing on the side and a mini-pizza - and I was perfectly satisfied. Go me!

Have a wonderful week, everyone - YOU CAN DO IT! :sunny:

Hi April!

I've been reading through your journal. All I can say is wow!!!:earseek: What wondeful milestones you have accomplished in the past six months. I was going to type good for you but I'll type GREAT FOR YOU instead! I love your blue clippie. It looks wonderful on you and you certainly deserve it. I know you will reach your weight loss goals because of all the positive determination I have read in your posts.

You are truly an inspiration to me! :)

oh my goodness april, i've missed so much since i've been away from your journal!!! such wonderful things going on! clippie party for sure :jumping1: :cool1: :jumping4:

how exciting, all these new clippies, and getting so close to onederland :jumping3:

that 4 mile race sounds like a great challenge. i have faith in you, i know you can do it. 5mph is a great goal for it! if you need to take it slower, don't feel bad about it though. and who knows, the adrenaline may just push you faster :hyper:

your posts just sound so positive, it's hard to not sit here with a huge smile on my face for you, i'm so happy for you :teeth:

hope you have another great week :bounce:

April, that race sounds like a really cool idea!! Go for it! Make sure you plan a nice reward for yourself when you achieve it!

You go, girl!!! :sunny:

Hi there, everyone. I'm happy to report another 3 pounds gone forever this week. Time for another clippie - I can't believe it's been three weeks in a row for new clippies for me! I doubt it will happen next week, though - 5 pounds in one week is a bit much, even for me. :p I've made 80 pounds disappear, officially halfway to my (tentative) goal of 160 pounds gone! I can't believe it. :teeth: My No Foolin' challenge goal is in sight, only one pound to go. And onederland is just 17 pounds away.

That's the good news. The bad news is that I just found out that my job is not going to be converted from contract to permanent (for a variety of reasons, none of which have to do with me or my job performance), and I have a little more than 4 months to find a new job - which will almost certainly have to be outside my current company (long story). It's been a while since I've completed a successful job search (this was my first job out of college), and especially in today's economy, I'm a little freaked out. I'm really worried about how this will affect my eating and exercise - what if my new job has a long commute, and I can't find time to exercise? Argh.

At least I've got the 4 months, and my boss has given me as much time as I need during work hours to look for a new job. Small comforts, I guess. Just one day at a time... And hey, with 80 pounds gone, I'm bound to make a better first impression at interviews.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a better day. :(

aw april, i'm so sorry about the bad news with your job. big  . i am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason, and i am sure there is something out there for you, and you will find it!

and you're doing such a great job with your eating and exercise!!! 3 pound loss this week!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc how exciting, that is such a great accomplishment, and now you are 80 total pounds down, just amazing :bounce:

i hope that you are feeling in better spirits :sunny:

Hi there everyone! :D One more pound gone this week for me - not a whole lot, but enough to reach both my No Foolin' Around goal and my third 10% goal! Woohoo! I can't believe my next 10% goal is under 200 (193). Only 4 pounds to my next clippie, and 16 pounds to Onederland. Here I come...

I'm not surprised that I'm only down 1 pound this week, considering the amount of restaurant meals I enjoyed this week: chicken/shrimp fajitas on Tuesday (emotional eating, argh), salmon sandwich on Wednesday (followed by cake and ice cream!), pasta lunch on Saturday, HUGE brunch on Sunday, and Subway last night. I did all right at each meal (except the brunch, definitely ate too much), but obviously it was a bit too much for the week. Oh well, I'll just try to do better this week!

I've officially signed up for my first race, 3.8 miles on April 4th. My goal is to run the entire way, and try to maintain a pace of 5 mph. I'm already nervous! :upsidedow I'm planning to run a "rehearsal" run this Friday, and I've already mapped out the course. Here's hoping I can actually make it!

I hope everyone is having a good week. Onwards and downwards! :teeth:

hey april, congrats on meeting all those goals, that is so great :bounce: . you are definitely making great headway toward onederland, you'll be there before you know it :Pinkbounc

that 3.8 mile run sounds like so much fun! i know you can do it! i really should look into finding short races around here for me to do, they just sound like a great time!

hope you're doing well :bounce:

Hi there! 2 pounds gone for me this week. :teeth: I'll need to step things up a little bit to make my goal of Onederland by May 15, but I'm still making progress. Only 2 more pounds to my next clippie, and 14 pounds to Onederland! I've also joined the Mother's Day challenge, setting a slightly ambitious goal of 12 pounds to push me towards my Onederland goal as well. Here's to seeing less of me in May! :p

Eating went all right this week. I'm getting better at listening to my stomach and leaving food on my plate in restaurants, even though it's really hard when the food is good. I did a little too much snacking on Saturday during a dinner party (and after the party as well), so I need to work on that in the future. And I will! ::yes::

The day is finally here - I'm running in my first race on Sunday, the Great Race in Los Gatos, CA. It's 4.0 miles long (I was wrong last week), and my goal is to run the entire way, with a time less than 48:00 (12:00 mile). I ran a "rehearsal run" yesterday morning, and I made it in 47:58 - so Sunday should go well... I hope! I'm sure I won't be passing many people, but as long as I finish ahead of the walkers, I'll be happy. ;) My "bib" with my race number arrived in the mail yesterday - # 940. I can't believe I'm really doing this!

I hope everyone is having a good week. :sunny:
