Last year we went Memorial day week, But this year we are going May 1-8, Is that a good time to go? as far as crowds, spring break,and grad nights etc? TIA Peylog

What is Grad Nights? I know that it is going on during my stay there at WDW, is this something I should be worried about? I was hoping that since we are going 11 days after easter, that my stay wouldn't be as crowded as the Spring break/Easter crowds. Has anyone elese gone during my time frame Apr 20-27th?

Grad nights = High school graduation party = park over run by 17 and 18 year olds... We did our Grad night at DL and it was a special ticked event, so after the "regular" closing time only those of use with grad night wrist bands could stay. I think about 7 other high schools were there with us. Still the place seemed pretty empty and it was lots of fun. Tons of us got rooms near by so we could keep on partying after the park closed at midnight. I was 17 so I never really thought about the fact that other people might want to sleep and I bet most 17 year olds today would have the same lapse.

Grad Nights are April 24, 25, 30, May 1. I think they do have fireworks but they are late at night, the party starts at 10pm.

But CM told me to check my Mickey Monitor...I said the next one comes in May and that would be too late because the new codes should be out before April 18...she was like "ohhhh your right ok well then maybe this week or next because in my 15 years here they are usually released 4-6 weeks before the timeframe they cover."
WHen is 6 weeks from April 18? I'm going to check my calendar....
Six weeks exactly is Sun March 7..April 18 is a Sunday

I believe there is a Grad Nights event at MK Saturday May 1st. That should be the last event. DTD is packed and I believe some of the parks are closing early to the general public. If you arrive on the 1st you should be ok. Just wait until the 2nd to go to any parks.

As for the first week of May, my family is going May 1st thru 10th. I have already scoped-out Grad Nights. I love going this time of year because I believe crowds are low due to Spring Break being over and Summer Break not getting started until the end of May. I have always experienced moderate to low crowds during this period. The weather can get a little warm. Usually upper 80s for highs and mid 60s for lows. You will also get to see the Flower and Garden show at EPCOT. Disney really landscapes EPCOT extremely well for this event. Don't forget your camera. There are a lot of chances for pictures next to Disney flowered characters.

Have a great trip, maybe I will bump into you. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge May 4th - 10th and Vistana Resort May 1st -4th.

Thank you so much, you have helped me before. The Flower & Garden event is absolutely beautiful, we went last Memorial week and it was still going on, we took tons of pictures.I just wasn't sure about early May. Thanks again Peylog

How many of us call on almost a daily basis. These bosses should recognize how much time is being wasted and at least establish some sort of time frame. I also got the mickey monitor line. I hate when a CM has no idea what their talking about. It hurts the disney image when people there own people aren't aware of such policies. may be were a little obsessed and thats why we know so much but disney CM usually give you the same impression.

We call everyday. And check the passholder website everyday also. I've heard 100 different stories from 100 different CM's... so I'm not believing anything until I see it.

Well I called again and the same anwser...not yet

I read the thread thats called New Discounts and I'm leaning to that info being correct. I read the travel agents post on another board and was sure the discounts for AP room-only would be out on March 9. I'm going to keep an eye on that board and will let you know if anything changes.

March 9th is my daughter's birthday and I will be the one doing the happy dance.

I also have been waiting for room codes and in the mail today at my office a discount offer shows up with a PIN#. I am on the phone with them now, they must change my reservation to reflect my office address in order to apply the discount. I hope the discount is large since we are staying at the GF RPC and they are not shy with their prices!!! Ouchy.....
