April, May, June AP Watch. Let's Get it Started

There are so many people now that are buying one child's pass for the resort discount.

I'm just wondering what Disers would do:

you don't have an AP, but you find out that Disney allows you to buy and use a child's AP to save you 40% off rack rate for your room.

Would you say to yourself, "oh well, I'll just pay the rack rate since people might get mad at me for not being a loyal AP
buyer".

Or would you say, "wow, what a great offering Disney has for AP holders! I'll buy an AP and save 40%!"

Aisling, at no time did I imply that it was wrong to do that. :D However, I don't think that Disney intended for AP's to be used as discount cards.

People will always want some sort of discount to buy APs. Whether it be food, merchandise, recreation, or resort discount. Disney knows that, and has to compete with other parks that offer discounts with their APs eg, Seaworld, Universal etc.
They could quite easily state an adult AP is required at check in to recieve discount on rooms. (IMHO.)::yes::

The CM said nothing about me being a passholder or having a disney visa. When I was ready to pay the deposit , she asked if I would be paying with a disney card and I said, "No, with a regular visa." No problem. She was really thorough and read back all my info. I haven't had such great service from a CM in a long time.

Also , it sounds about teh same as last year's ap rate . It was 215.00. I got 233.00 (with tax), so it's better than AAA.

I just called at 7:12 and nothing as well. She dind't even mention the Disney Visa Fl resident rate......

AP rates for 4/18 through 7/8 or 9?? are in the system according to Ruby Rose at 7:30 a.m. The systems are down, but when they come up, the reservation people can book the AP rates!

FALSE ALARM--I just called back and got the same information--not out yet and that the other reservation person gave me bad information! Sorry to all--guess we're back to waiting. I hate it when the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

Just called back. Nothing for beyond April 17th and their system was up and running :(

YES YES YES!!! I just called and said i would like to see about FL resident rates........he said ok I will check.....I then gave him my reservation number and he gave me a new rate!! I didn't get a code or even ask for one but my original booking was for 4 nights at CS at 603.00, this brought it down to 375.00....so I saved $228.00. This is for a king room. I am not sure what it works out to per night.....
I didn't even ask about the deluxes, I figured I would keep what I have for now and check this site and mousesavers to see what the rates would be for the deluxes and then maybe upgrade again!:bounce:

I also just called and was told that codes BBO and BBR have to do something with receiving in the mail, not for everyone. Also nothing past April 17.

I was just told the same thing, that the code --- was a direct mailing. not the AP discount...Here we go again!!!

I received (or my husband did--never send a man to do the job) bad information from Ruby Rose. I called back and found out the same thing--I thought the code sounded vaguely familiar and I've now deleted it--we also got one of those mailing for this particular code and it was only good until 4/17--when this gal makes a mistake, she really takes the cake! The rest sounded right--the time frame anyway. Sorry again, I've edited my posts to take care of my screw up.

That's okay Tess...Thanks for letting us know so quickly, though, even though it was a false alarm! :hyper:

I posted this on my False Alarm post, too. I really should have waited until I actually booked the rate, but I know how everyone is salivating to get these APs. I wanted everyone to be first in line so to speak to get the rate they wanted. I was overzealous, but my heart was in the right place. Geesh--last time I let my husband do the calling! I'm really embarrassed and sorry to get everyone so excited for nothing! Thanks for understanding.

so should I be worried? I didn't ask any questions....nothing was said about any visa deal or anything. I just said I wanted to see about fl res rates, now I am worried.

I would call back to double check!!!! I was given the exact same treatment last night when I booked. No mention of visa at all. When I saw all these posts this morning I got worried and called back. Sure enough, the CM read all the info he had on how this was to be booked- with a disney visa AND balance paid with disney visa. He called guest services and a manager there okayed my rate. I'm still not 100% comfortable with this!
