Date, Marry, Kill: Magic Kingdom

I'd kill Polynesian... offers nothing but inflated points charts and bungalow hot tubs that aren't warm...
and with the exception of Wailulu, mediocre dining...

But, I am just that way... I'd personally have no problem demolishing the original Contemporary Resort Building...
The middle of the Contemporary is just sad…. Jamming stores with generic merchandise and low quality character dining…. they could rejuvenate that lobby and it would go a LOOOOONG way…. and the Incredible Rooms… another Chepo Chapek fail….. BLT is soooo much better than the Contemporary, IMO.

Even SH71 is overrated. We went there last trip and got the burger and the buns were almost stale with no “71 stamp”. Feels like a cafeteria with no windows. There is no reason go here when Wailulu exists.

yeah BLT with the refurb is a major step in the right direction... it also helps that the style of building is so generic for BLT...

Contemporary - there are so many hotels of that style you can find in major cities like Atlanta for example just on a grander scale, and the monorail driving through a building just doesn't have the "Wow" factor I'm sure it did when Disney first opened... just isn't as unique as it once was...

Disney also doesn't give the Contemporary the same love it provides to Polynesian or GF, I think in part because they just don't know what to do with it...

Date: Poly - fun for a few days until the crowds get to me
Marry: WL - my favorite resort
Kill: BLT (I don't have anything against it but while I have zero desire to stay at VGF, I love Narcoosie's so it's allowed to live for only that reason. BLT dies by default - sorry!!)

I don’t understand the hate for the Poly bungalow plunge pools. We love them! The last thing we want after a long day in the hot Florida sun is a hot tub - the plunge pools are so refreshing! We hoard points so that we can stay in a bungalow every three years - have a 4-night stay coming up this year 😎

Date: Poly - first time in the tower next month
Marry: Wilderness Lodge
Kill: Grand Floridian - don't dislike it, but it's the last of these resorts that I will be trying
One Night Stand: BLT - staying there next month so our relationship could change then

Since I haven't stayed at many DVC resorts yet, this is a "Love is Blind/Married at First Sight" type of guess based on videos and the few places I have stayed. Hoping to stay at 5 more resorts in the next year so I can come back and revise my ratings then!

Date: Polynesian. Pretty, exotic, and lots of classic Disney history.
Marry: Wilderness Lodge. Theming, lobby, Geyser Point, waterfront, boats...love it.
Kill: BLT, Grand Floridian. Both too many points, GF just not worth it for me, and BLT too generic hotel-like design. Love the rooftop bar and views, but could still get that view at Contemporary...and GF is gorgeous, but could live in as a lovely hotel without DVC.

Date: BLT and VGF

After several dates, BLT was too practical and uninterested in any sort of splurge other than an extra toilet. VGF, OTOH, thought money was no object.

Marry: CCV

CCV was the best of both worlds. A little fun and fanciful, but still budget conscious and practical.

Kill: Poly

Poly didn't seem to care about money or practicality. Just wanted to party and light the money (err points) on fire.
This is why I am marrying BLT, my first love. So practical, and willing to keep things new and lively with a refurb.

Date: VGF
Marry: BLT
Kill: Poly
Bridesmaid: CCV

VGF is an almost-marry since it's the home resort where we have the most points. He does all the decorating for the holidays, and always greets me in the sweetest Christmas sweater.

Poly spent so many years as studios only, and then there's the TPV-lower floors issue, that I feel like he's like the guy who says "yeah, we really should go out sometime," flirts a bit, and then never follows through. No interest in that at all.

CCV: I keep thinking I want to stay there and there have been options to switch, and yet I stay at VGF and BLT when I am in the MK area. While I love VGC...

low quality character dining….

I would agree with you except last year I did a mother-daughter trip with my kid turning 10 and we had the BEST time at Chef Mickey's! We hadn't been back in a few years, and the food had improved, and Donald was hilarious. He hijacked my selfies and made them so funny. I'm still not a huge fan of buffets, but they made my daughter feel very special on her birthday and that more than makes up for earlier trips.
