Wow, this thread is hoppin'! I had to go back several pages to find my last update.
Cam, I really hope that pain in your hip does ease and that NYC is loads of fun for you. Thank you for all of your encouragement.
...
51 min run/walk - my first 5K...not the fastest time ever but I actually thought I had done much worse.
Thank you for the good wishes on my hip. Great job on your first 5k.

That is a very nice time, and now you have a baseline for the next one.

It only gets faster from here!
We're all in this together and that helps a lot! Let's keep up the good work and take each day as it comes.
I hope you enjoyed your visit with your DGD and DD!
Cam - Hope you feel better & can enjoy your trip.
This thread has definately been helpful in motivating me to keep up, even on days I felt like I didn't have the time or energy. I am still in the process of making this a habit, and my problem is one day off turns into many, and I am starting over every couple of weeks. If I force myself to do something I am always really glad I did, and feel great once I start. Its getting over the mental hurdle of thinking I don't have the time or the energy.
I know exactly what you mean by this. I have to keep reminding myself of how much better I will feel after a workout, compared to how sluggish (and guilty) I'll feel if I go home and sit around instead. I have given myself a jumpstart on good decision-making by packing my workout clothes and taking the bag to work, and most nights forcing myself to change into those clothes before I leave the office. Then, I just have to force Max (my car) to stay left off the highway exit to head toward the YMCA, instead of bearing right and heading home. It seems like every day, we can make a series of good decisions, one at a time, that lead to a healthier lifestyle.
Keep up the great work, one smart action at a time!
565/1200 just finished 50 minutes on the elliptical!
Have a great weekend!
Great job, Tracey!

April 13 - 30 mins walk

Wow!! Look at that consistency!

I am so impressed!
537/1700
.... Yesterday was my birthday and DH got me a timex ironman run trainer gps. It charged overnight so can't wait to play with it today! The kids got me a giant candy bar of my favorite kind and Tangled! I had a bit of the candy and think I'll either break it up into little squares or freeze it.
Cam, hope your hip is better.
First of all, Happy Birthday!!!!

I hope your family treated you like a
Have fun wiht your new GPS watch! DH has one and loves it.
My 5k race was today. Finished in 38:35.
Nicely done!!! That is an awesome 5k time!

You should be so proud of yourself!! You've set your bar pretty high, my friend. That is a great new PR to have if I am remembering correctly that you haven't done a 5k in a couple years. And in the heat? Impressive!
No actual exercise yesterday, I spent the morning loading and unloading the truck with hay, and the rest of the day landscaping. Lots of raking and lifting and hauling and walking! Despite not working out I'm happy with my day yesterday. I do plan to get on the treadmill later today though.
That sure sounds like exercise to me.

WOW!! I would definitely have counted those minutes!
After a week of being sick

I was able to do 6.5 hours of yard work yesterday, which included digging a trench to repair the dog fence, also loading and unloading 36 bags of mulch. For a total of 390 minutes, grand total 560/1200!!
I'm sorry you were sick. I hope you are feeling better and that you didn't overdo it this weekend.
Cam, looks like you are having a great weekend in NYC. Hope the hip doesn't hurt too much!
Since I last posted, I've completed 2 hours of walking and 4 hours on the bike (55 miles). My tush is very sore. Ha!
New total:
620/1200
Great job, Susie! You are amazing!

Yes, we had an awesome time in NYC. I love being with my kids and Howard and now that we are all really trying to be more active, it's even more fun to be out and about together.
First day out with the kayak today! Beautiful weather, which helps with the exercise. Now I'm up to:
1408/2500
Oh, that sounds wonderful! I've never been in a kayak but it always looks so serene, even when I know it is hard work to propel yourself through the water. Do you go out on a lake?
4/14 70 minutes - 40 bootcamp, 30 cardio
4/15 60 minutes walk with DH over some really hilly terrain
Great job!

And you know my theory, right? I think hilly terrain counts double! LOL!
450/1100
April 14th 60 minute boot camp
April 15th - was going to go to a weight lifting camp but ended up cleaning for 3 or 4 hours then potting plants. For which I am giving myself 60 minutues.
Nice sunny day here in Seattle, hope it keeps up!
I'm not so sure about the cleaning, but potting plants definitely sounds like more fun than weight lifting camp. LOL!
Tracey and Disneychic2 and teeka - I hope you are all feeling better today. Oh, and teeka, the landscaping certainly means you did not have a "0" for activity that day. I know how hard that kind of work is. I hope your foot is feeling better.
I did 10 miles on Saturday -- 200 minutes. Yes, I am a slow runner.
I also did 120 minutes of housework yesterday.
That brings me to 650/1200 and keeps me on track for the month.
Lisa - You are rocking this challenge and doing amazing on your miles!! Keep up the great work!
