April and Jeffery's Wishes Wedding May 14, 2011 - WP/LS - I'm Married!!!

:cool1::banana: love the shoe!!! I started on mine last night and only got the heel done!!! :lmao: It's going to take me a while but I'm sure if feels good to get one shoe done. I'm using all different sizes or crystals.

Your shoe looks amazing!!!

Hopefully the shoes project is coming along:banana:... Mine is taking FOREVER!!!:scared1: haha and I don't think I bought enough crystals... but we will have to wait and see once I get at least one shoe done:lmao:

I am still working on my second shoe. It takes a while and the glue I am using gives me a headache so I have to take breaks, but it is so worth it. I absolutely love my shoes!

absolutely love the bedazzle shoes! Amanda please post some pics when you're done with yours. I'm thinking I want to include the color of my girl's dresses with my shoes…I better get started I’m running out of time

Hi there! I keep lurking on all these new pj's an not posting. I just want to say that everything looks fabulous so far! I love the blinged shoes. It makes me think of the Wizard of Oz. I remember being super jealous of those ruby slippers. I actually found a women who does that for a living (bling out shoes), but it's expensive. I debated about it for a while, but got shot down by several people who thought it was tacky. Whatever! The more bling, the better. ;) In the end, I did get a fabulous pair of shoes, so I was happy.

I also want to say that I think the flowers and those colors are gorgeous. I think it will pick up that blue/teal color nicely.

Can't wait to read more.

So, today, my DF and I went and ordered our invites. We are actually making them ourselves, but we are having the inside printed by an invite company. Then we are ordering pockets and paper and putting them together ourselves. One of the DisSigners made us up a very cute monogram and we are putting that on our invites. I am very excited about them. Trying to find the best deals has taken a lot of time, but I am sure it will be worth it. When I have one done, I will post it. I think they are Super Cute!

Also this week, Jeffery and I had a planning session with Disney over the phone. We went through the schedule of the day and figured out some timing issues that I had with scheduling Make up/Hair and photography. We also talked about adding a dessert party and Illuminations at the end of our reception. Our planner, Carol, is going to send us a BEO for what we have so far when she gets back from her vacation. If you want, I can post it up here. Just let me know. It's not settled yet, but it will give us an idea of where we stand and how much we have left over for floral and decor.

September 11th, I am going with my Maid of Honor and my mom to get my dress. I am hoping my Mom likes it, but at this point I don't really mind if she doesn't. I am a little fristrated with my Mom. I thought that she would want to help with my wedding, but she doesn't seem interested in it at all. I show her pictures of my ideas and she she says "okay". She doesn't offer advice or say whether or not she likes it. She didn't even want to go dress shopping with me. She just told me to pick it out and if I wanted to, I could show her when I buy it. She said she and her friend wanted to do my invites, but when I asked her about it, she didn't act interested. I can't really talk to my mom about the way I feel. She is not the easiest to talk to. I guess I will just keep trying to get her involved and if she chooses not to, then oh well. That is her decision.

Sorry to complain on here, but I just needed a sympathetic ear. Thank you.

I can't wait to see the invites!! Have you finished your shoes yet? I won't be done for a while... there are more important things to buy right now other than crystals so I'm waiting patiently...

I think your mom will come around soon... Hopefully after she see's your dress and you in your dress she will start knowing that it's real and then maybe help you out more and get involoved... Make sure to take pictures!!!:cool1:

Thank you for your support. My shoes are almost done. I got one done, put it on, and a bunch of crystals fell off. So, I had to go back and re glue them on. I didn't know if I was going to have to switch glues or not, but they stayed on the 2nd time. I think I just have to make sure to use a lot of glue. Be careful that the glue doesn't crack when the shoe gets stretched when you wear it. My shoes are leather so its a little different than fabric shoes. But I absolutely love them. I can't wait to see how they go with my dress.

Hey Everyone,

So, I saw that a couple of people posted their engagement rings, so I thought I would post mine. A couple of people have asked me if I am getting a wedding band and I told them that I wasn't. They thought it was weird, is it? My ring has detail on the side and I don't want to cover it up. Is it okay to just have the one ring, without the side bands?

I love your ring!! So many great details!! I think it's your choice, if you don't want to cover up the detail then don't get a wedding band, do you think that is something you will regret? Sometimes it's important to others and sometimes it's not. It's your wedding, it's your ring and it's your choice or what you want to do!!:cool1:

I'm def getting one wedding band to jazz up and match my ring.:goodvibes

My ring has a lot of detail on the sides. Its one of the reasons I love it so much! I just got a really thin simple band with a few stones in it and I'll wear it behind my e-ring so that if your looking at my hand straight on you'll still be able to see the detail...probably a little bit on the other side too cause the band is so thin.

So, we are having a bit of a snug with our officiant. My DF wanted his uncle to perform the ceremony. His Uncle is very religious and works at his church, pretty much full time. We, on the other hand, are not religious at all. In order for him to marry us, he wanted us to do a 4 session counseling with him. When we got his questions, they had to do more with religion and sexuality than they did with marriage. He also had us email him a testimonial about our beliefs. I was very honest and so was my DF. We are not religious. I did not grow up going to church or have those beliefs. My DF is also not religious, but his Grandma had him "accept Jesus" when he was a child. Because of that and the fact that we are family, he agreed to do it. His uncle sent me a copy of the ceremony and I emailed him back, letting him know that our reading was not from scripture, we were writing our own vows, and we didn't want a prayer or the saying, "as god is my witness". He then sent us an email back saying that he can no longer do our ceremony. Now my DF is disappointed. He really wanted his Uncle to do it. I guess he can't imagine a ceremony without the prayer and things in it because that is all that he has ever seen. So, now what do I do? Do I grovel back to the Uncle and go with the religious things, or find someone new?

That's a tough situation. My DH and I aren't very religious either, but ended up including a good bit of it in our ceremony for our parents who are. It wasn't a huge deal to me that we did that though. My father-in-law officiated the ceremony and although he is very religious, was able to tone it down so we were comfortable. In the end, I think you should just figure out what makes you happy and go with that. If a super religious ceremony bothers you, then go with someone else. But if having the Uncle perform the ceremony is more important than a non-religious one, maybe you can compromise with him on how much religion is added into the ceremony, although it seems like you'd have to add quite a bit more than you'd want :confused3

I already typed this out once and then my internet had to restart.

Jeffery and I got engaged on September 4, 2009.

That day we flew in to Orlando from Seattle, Washington. It was a long flight and we were tired. While we were waiting for the bus to take us from the airport to our hotel at Animal Kingdom Lodge, one of the cast members told us about the Halloween party that night at Magic Kingdom. It was pretty late in the afternoon and the Halloween party was suppose to start a in a few hours. I wasn't sure if we would be able to get tickets, but I called anyways and they had some available.

If you have never been to Mickey's Halloween party, you should. It was great! They have a special Halloween show and firework display. The rides are open and there are cast members around that give up candy. They also have a lot of characters out and there are barely any lines for the rides or the characters.

Jeffery and I had just gotten off of the Haunted Mansion ride and were heading into Fantasyland when we saw that they were taking pictures in front of Cinderella's coach. I was so excited. We waited inline to get our picture done.

We got our picture done with our camera and as we were waiting to get it done with the professional camera, Jeffery got on his knee and took my hand. Jeffery took the ring from his pocket and said, "Will you marry me?" My jaw dropped and I immediately started crying. Jeffery put the ring on my finger and some guy nearby yelled, "What's your answer?" I, of course, said yes.

It was wonderful and he planned it so we could get professional pictures of it. Smart guy, huh? Enjoy!

congratz sapphire!!! that is a gorgeous story!! i hope that you get all you want for your wedding. what a gorgeous engagment photo too!! :goodvibes

 That is a difficult situation. I would have a heart to heart with your DF and explain how you are not comfortable having a ceremony which doesn't reflect your beliefs and ask how you can combine your beliefs to create a beautiful ceremony. If you need to go with someone else, so be it. I know he wants his Uncle to perform the ceremony but there are many wonderful officiants who work with Disney and are willing to be more flexible.

I know it might sound harsh but I feel the ceremony should be a reflection of your combined beliefs - would you be willing to have a single prayer, maybe over the rings? Think of ways you can compromise before you talk to him and bring some of your suggestions. Maybe he could ask the Uncle to perform a toast? Just throwing out ideas...

Just found your PJ...CONGRATULATIONS! I am also planning my Wishes wedding for 4/10/11...Can't wait to hear all of your details...We are starting all of our planning a little late...7 months left and no dress! :confused3 We are also from Seattle :)...love all the details so far...love love love the teal color you picked...I'm not sure if i missed it...was there an additional color? As for the undersea theme...i think variation of blue would be gorgeous!

I got my dress. I had so much trouble deciding on one. I tried this one on a few months ago and I loved it, but it wasn't what I had originally wanted so I had a hard time deciding that was the one. But after trying it on again with my mom and my Maid of honor, I knew it was the one. I also got my tiara, which matches the dress perfectly. My mom is going to make my veil, since they are so freakin expensive. She sews and is very crafty so I know she will do a great job. I am very excited. I should get it in January or February and I should get my tiara in 6-8 weeks, perfect, since I need it for my hair trial in Orlando in December.
