April and Jeffery's Wishes Wedding May 14, 2011 - WP/LS - I'm Married!!!

Love the cakes, I can see why you are having trouble choosing. I am sure that Disney would be able to make a cake like any of those for you. The "under the sea" cake in the planning dvd is so beautiful and if I remember correctly is closest to the second cake that you posted.

We didn't get out date :( So, I guess the next step from here is to try to get it for the week after. May 14, 2011. Wish us luck!!!

Oh I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get your date  Good luck to getting your next choice! The cake options that you posted are awesome - I love the theme! :goodvibes

Well, we got the call today and we got our date!!!! May 14, 2011, the 2:30 ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, followed by a reception at the Living Seas. Now, its on to the fun stuff!!

Does anyone know how to change the title of my main thread? I wanted to add our new date.

Thank you. So, a couple weeks ago we booked Randy Chapman photography for our wedding when we were hoping to get May 7. Since we got May 14, Randy already has a wedding booked for that day. His wedding is at 4pm and our ceremony is at 2:30 and he is only suppose to work ours until we leave for the reception. I think his wife, Linda, is going to talk to the other bride to see exactly what time they need him, so it may work, especially since her wedding is very close to Disney. Hopefully, it will all work out. If not, then we may have to try getting another photographer. I hope not since we love Randy's pictures and prices. Everyone keep your fingers crossed. :cutie:

Fingers crossed for you! I am sorry that you are having so much trouble with your date :( I hope that everything works out for you!

Thank you for keeping your fingers crossed. We talked to Randy and Linda and we were able to get everything figured out. He is still going to do our wedding and we are super excited about that. We love his work.

Today I got an email from Stacey, our coordinator, and she said that our original date, May 7, the 5pm ceremony, opened up. That was what we originally wanted, but we decided to stay with what we have. We like the idea of the 2:30 ceremony because I guess the aquarium lights turn off in Living Seas around 9pm and then we can also do illuminations.

We are really excited to begin the planning session. We sent in our room block information and we are waiting to get our contract, so that we can sign it and return it. I can't believe that it is finally starting. After waiting so long just so we could book our date, its finally happening. I am so excited. I can't wait to see what we do. :cheer2:

We got our Letter of Agreement the other day. When we had originally talked to our coordinator, Stacey, Disney had a deal that for every 50 rooms, after the first 25 rooms, that your family books, the bride and groom get a complimentary night. In the first LOA that we received, it didn't have that in the contract, so I contacted Stacey and since we had originally discussed that deal, they were able to put it back in our contract and send us a new one. We read through it and initialed it, we will mail it back on Tuesday along with our deposit. How exciting!!!!

We are planning our reception at the Living Seas and we have a few concerns.
One, they said that with the living seas, the pre-reception is usually held in the first room of the living seas, which connects to the main room in living seas. I am concerned because we are planning on having about 100 people and I don't know if that room is too small for the pre-reception. Also, since it connects to the main room, you don't have that "wow" factor from entering the reception area.

Two, the dance floor is so small in Living Seas, that may deter people from dancing. If that happens, will our wedding be boring? What else can we do? What kind of lighting does the Disney DJ do?

Does any one have any ideas? Anyone do the living seas with some advice?:confused3

PS We figured out our photography. Randy can still do our wedding and we are so excited to have him do it.

We sent this out last week once we recieved our LOA. Only 2 people have Pre-RSVPed since we sent it out and they were No's. Should I send out an email reminder for people to RSVP? If so, when would be a good time?

So, I have been looking for shoes to wear under my dress off and on for about 6 months. I have wide feet, so the cute strappy shoes don't look very good on my feet. I also wanted sparkly shoes and teal ones to match my colors. But, then I found these and I fell in love. They are so much money though. Around $350 and that's the sale price. Is it worth it to pay that much for a pair of shoes that I would most likely only wear once? Also, I don't walk in heels very much and I am very afraid that my feel would hurt, so I would also get a pair of flats for just that reason. Is that even more of a waste of money? Any advice?

First off, the newsletter looks great! You did a great job with it! Second, I have seen shoes like those for much cheaper than $350, so they should exist! I am not sure how much you already have, but definitely look around some more if you don't want to pay that much. As a shoe-a-holic :rotfl: I definitely understand how much that great pair of shoes is worth, so I wish you luck in your search!

I would definitely shop around the like the previous DISer said...I suggest (if you find it less then $350) that you purchase the heels for your ceremony and then during the reception change into your flats. that's what I'm doing because I not a heel person, can't stay in them too long. Oh, your newsletter came out really nice, I love MAC! :thumbsup2

We got out planner today. Carol Mikles. I have not researched her yet on here, so does any body know how she is?

We also got our email from here with an 13 page questionnaire that we have to return to her in 8 days. There are some things on there that I haven't even thought about yet. Like what songs to have playing for the ceremony. I guess its time to start doing some of that.

From reading other people's threads, it sounded like you get a DVD of cakes and in the information they refer to a CD of music, will we be getting these soon or are they not doing that anymore?

Lots of work to do, but my brother is graduating from High school this weekend and we have family up, so I don't know how much I will be getting done this weekend. I am going to need every single one of those 8 days. I wonder if they allow extensions? ;)

If you can afford to splurge on a pair of shoes you are only going to wear once then go for it BUT think about the how you could use the money elsewhere instead i.e. photographer, cake etc. I say do that. Really up to you. Hope that helps :goodvibes

Your cake choices are amazing! It is going to be tough to choose

i just read through your plans so far and they sound great! I love those shoes! i've been looking for green shoes like that for so long, if you dont mind me asking where did you find them?

Thank you very much. I found the shoes at Saks Fifth Avenue on their website. Here is the link. If you get them, let me know if they are comfortable, thats my biggest issue with shoes. I want soemthing I can wear all day.

Hey Everyone,

We turned in our questionnaire to Carol, our planner. Does anyone know what happens next? We are still trying to figure out our menu, so I have questions sent to Carol about doing the filet from Jiko's. We were wondering how much that would be. We want to keep our dinner at around 70 a person so we can get our appetizers and cake and end up around the 125/person minimum.

We are also trying to figure out the music for the ceremony. I listened to the CD they sent, can we only choose songs from that?

I feel like I am forgetting things that I can do now, instead of waiting for the last minute. Any suggestions?

My brother and I at his graduation. I am so proud of him. He is a great, sweet kid.

We have the same planner, but I have dealt with her assistant more than her so far. She introduced herself to me on a friday, and I sent an email to her that day and got an auto response that she was out of the office. Her assistant, Jessie, has been great with getting back to my emails in a timely manner! I'll be following along with your journal as we are getting married a month before you.
