April 6, 2008 - 4-night Spring Break Cruise - Anyone else going?

Happy pre 4th!
Here's some helpful tips for driving in Atlanta for all my ATL buddies and my one buddy who passes through on the way to DIS!.

For those of you that have never driven in ATL, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 are absolutely true, except for the part about being shot in #6 and #11, but be careful, that COULD happen too!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: SOOOOOO TRUE!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl:
That is so funny. When I first moved here, I was terrified of driving here. Especially on I-285, where 90 is still too slow.

Not only that, but what got to me was how 2/3 of the streets changed names at major intersection.

Have a happy 4th everyone!

What tickled me about Philadelphia and DC is that the streets are straight and named in some kind of order. How in the heck are you supposed to find your way around?

Just meet me on Peachtree.

Which one? Road, Street, Parkway, Industrial Blvd., Battle, Court, North Court, and the list goes on ... :rotfl2:

Okay, we (and our navigation system) will be leaving Atlanta in just 6 days to go to WDW! I am so excited. I do have one question though:

DD5's eardrum burst yesterday. The doctor said he can't go in water at all, not even with earplugs. I made an appointment for Tuesday, right before we leave town, so that I can get an opinion on whether it has healed enough to at least use earplugs.

 Has anyone else dealt with this, and what can I do with a rambunctious 5 year old boy in the heat of the summer at WDW if we can't go into the pools in the middle of the day (not to mention Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, etc.)?

Poor little guy :guilty: Hope you get the all clear for ear plugs on Tuesday.

It's been pretty quiet around here. Hope everyone's well.

Jenny, I hope your little one is doing better. Maybe you'll get some good news at the doctor appointment today. :goodvibes

Have a wonderful vacation. :cloud9: We want to hear all about the trip when you get home. Safe Travels!

I am so sorry, One day you can go to a movie popcorn::.

Somehow we always manage to skip swimming. But, then again, we are not traveling with a 5yo boy.

I didn't even dare look to see how many pages back our thread got buried!! :)

Tigger family - are you home yet? Hope your trip to WDW was wonderful. How's the little guy? Never saw an update on the burst eardrum. Hope all's well.

Tori and I are going to WDW on Friday!! We're meeting up with another Mom/daughter for a week of fun! OK, so the girls just want to look for "cute boys"; we moms are thinking about our ADRs and all the wonderful food we'll be eating!!!

I've been trying to figure out what we should do after the cruise in April. We'll be off the ship Thursday morning - thinking 2 days at WDW might be nice; then drive home Saturday. Gives us Sunday to "catch up"! Anyone else think they'll visit the parks for a day or 2 after the cruise? I'd even thought about Universal; wish WDW or Universal would release their 2008 rates already!!!

I have some :cool1: news as well. Doug surprised me with an early birthday gift. We are going to WDW from Aug 9th - 12th. A short trip right before school starts! We are going to fly down since it is such a short trip but we are also going to the Pirate & Princess party on Aug 11th. I only made 1 ADR for a Fantasmic package but we got a good AP rate on Villas at Wilderness. I'm so excited about not having to wait until October

As for April, we are definately heading to WDW after the cruise. We will leave out in the wee hours of Sunday morning and drive straight back.

Laura ~ can't wait to hear about your mother/daughter trip!

Ahhhh - that's GREAT!!! (Way to go, Doug! :thumbsup2)

You've got the important stuff taken care of - the flight, the Villa, Fantasmic and the Pirate & Princess Party! :yay: How exciting!

Sounds like Orlando's been having some wild weather the past few days. It's supposed to calm down by the time we arrive on Friday (phew!)

We're back. We got the all clear for swimming with an ear plug the morning before we left. We've been scrambling a bit since our return to catch up at home and at work. :surfweb: We flew up to NJ for a long weekend and to pick up the DDs who flew home with Grandma at the end of the WDW trip. In any case, more later...:)

Given the dates, I'm guessing your back by now. I hope you had a blast.

Maybe, if I can convince DW it's a good idea and we can afford it.:rolleyes1

Sorry for the brevity, but I need to jump back into work stuff.:sad1:

Hi! Tori and I "just" (30 minutes ago!) got home. Had a terrific 9 days @ WDW!! :yay:

Hard to believe the kids will be back in school in one week! :scared1: And I almost completely missed Tax-Free Weekend, didn't I?!!! Well, I'll be out shopping tomorrow since that's the final day!

Hope everybody's doing well. :)

Where'd everybody go? :confused3

Is it something I said? :rotfl2:

At least here at the T-i-double-g-err household, we're still dealing with, and recovering from, the fall out from July. :headache: I'm still at the office and am taking a few minute DIS break.

We should be starting a TR at some point. Our brief trip notes appear to have gone MIA, so we may have to just shoot from memory and pictures. :surfweb:

PS I'm still trying to convince DW that we should do an MK day after we get off the ship, but it's an uphill battle at this point since she's pretty convincing when we break out the calculator and start adding up the further expense...:sad1:

Yoo hoo! Anyone 't home? :bored:

We've been pretty pre-occupied with general life activities...

Things have been hectic here! (I always think things will calm down when school starts up again - duh! What was I thinking?!! :lmao:)

We won't be sailing with y'all after all. :sad1: We decided to cancel this cruise. We'd rather do a 7-night, but we're going to wait until 2009 itineraries are released to decide. Hearing rumors about Alaska...... that would make my DH so happy! :cloud9:

Anyway, hope our paths will cross one day - who knows, we might end up cruising together one day! Wishing you all a wonderful cruise! :goodvibes

We just got back from our wonderful October trip! Now it is time to start focusing more on Spring Break now that Fall Break is over.

We will miss you RachelTori.

Hope everyone else is doing great besides just being busy.
