April 4, 2010 Disney Wonder 4-night

I just wanted to thank Lemola for the tip on the discounted rooms! We saved 25% on our one night at Pop! However, if you do try to get this, you may end up with a CM who is clueless. I tried to tell her what Lemola said about the Winter-Summer promo, and she said she had never heard of it and didn't know what I was talking about. So I hung up with her and called back and this time I got a CM who told ME about the special. She called it a QNY standard across the board promotion. So be persistent if you call! :goodvibes

Hi Everyone,
Anyone who'd like to attend a Meet and Greet on departure day is welcome! 3:00 p.m. at the Promenade Lounge. I mentioned before wearing DISBoard green (a piece of paper with your screen name on it?) if you have it. The lounge isn't very big so we should have any trouble finding each other. See you there!! :thumbsup2

Thank you Lemola, for the tip...

My room is booked with my cruise, so when I called they gave me a long process to follow, and I checked online and the price booked with the cruise is still lower than the price booking separately. 4 nights at pop is $540 + 67.50 taxes.

Is the deal different over the phone than on the website? Online the dates say "now to 3/27/10 and 4/11-6/3/10"

We are staying 4/8-4/12, so I guess that is the problem - good deal for the people staying before the trip, though!!

Just wondering if anyone else is packing today????

Next weekend looks busy so I figured I'd better get started today. So far it just looks like suitcases open all over the floor--nothing in them!

The cruise is still a secret from the kids. I can't believe I haven't spilled the beans. We leave for WDW in 12 days. :yay: Can't come soon enough--it's SNOWING here today! Oh well, could be worse. I hear others are having multiple inches--we'll just have 1-2 and it will melt by Monday.

Let's hear your packing stories....

We are going to pack across multiple suitcases. We make daily outfits for each person then put them in multiple suitcases.:cool1::dance3: That way if one suitcase gets lost, at least each person has something to wear. Also don't forget to pack a day bag for carrying onto the ship. Remember to not pack your passports and cruise documents. We just filled ours out online and printed out the contract.:laundy:

My FE is ready.......and my FE is ready....well, that is all I have ready to go! :scared:

I was going to pack this weekend - but the weather turned absolutely gorgeous this weekend and I have been outside with the family since yesterday at noon :lmao: They had a great hotair balloon glow this evening - so we got Chili's to-go and had a picnic while watching the balloons light up so beautifully in the darkness. I truly love the first day of spring!!:sunny: I have to pack DH and myself for business trips so we will be ready to hit the road tomorrow. Looks like I'll have to commit to packing for DCL and WDW next weekend!

I'm so glad everyone got such great deals on their WDW resort rooms! Yayayayayayay!

As for packing...I have a few outfits for everyone already laid out. But I have extensive lists for each family member on the computer. I really should start packing this week. That way I can have time to shop for any last minute items next weekend.

I did get all of my FE gifts done! And I made an FE hanger after all! It's really cute in Mickey black, yellow and red. I just need to buy a dowel and it will be complete.

Well I have packed the stuff from the Easter Bunny and Tinker Bell gifts and 1 casual outfit for every day we're gone... Nothing for the evenings yet... I'm hoping to carry over some of the daytime tops and pair them with skirts or black pants...

The rule for this year... THOU SHALT NOT OVERPACK!

I'm not good at that ^ (especially with shoes, but who can comfortably wear the same shoes everyday??)

I did get some of my FE gifts done... It's so much fun to get creative!! So far we have Easter Bunny Gifts and lots of half completed things... Lots more to finish!!! If they all work out, I'll be very proud... now just having time to get it all done!!!

We have one family without the DD's name... Would you mind sharing her first name via PM? If not, I totally understand, and I'll personalize her gift with "Princess" or something like that.

I do need some advice...

So we are leaving for Nashville, TN on Saturday. We are staying overnight, and flying out very early on Sunday AM. Should the Easter Bunny leave her stuff in the hotel on Saturday, like while we go out to dinner? or should he leave it out Saturday night, for her to find at 6AM Sunday morning? Or should he wait and stuff it all in a carryon and run to the stateroom and put it out on her bed?

Here are my concerns/opinions for the options..
option #1 - Saturday isn't Easter. She'll have time to enjoy it all and not be overwhelmed by the excitement of everything else... Also we can leave any unnecessary items in the vehicle and not lug an Easter basket(bag) of stuff on the plane.
option #2 - Sunday at 6AM is a good option, because this is Easter, we can still leave stuff in the vehicle, but who wants to get excited about anything at 6AM? BLECH! But she could play with the new stuff on the plane, too.
option #3 - This would be neat to walk into the stateroom and "find" the stuff from the Easter Bunny, but I'm afraid that the excitement might get lost in the excitement of the cruise... (not to mention dragging all that stuff on an airplane)
DH would like to add an option #4 - Have the Easter bunny leave everything at home to give her something to look forward to at the end of the vacation. I nixed this, because I never look forward to the end of vacation.

Let me know what you think! Getting EXCITED!!!!

Sorry about that:confused: Our names are Jeff, Lisa and our daughter Caitlyn is 5.princess: We are from Chalfont PA, which is near Doylestown PA. Look forward to seeing everyone at the meet.:woohoo:

We just ordered our Easter basket for our daughter. :thumbsup2 They will deliver it to the room before we board. I hope the Easter bunny comes thru:hourglass

We are going to do both - have the Easter Bunny deliver to the hotel room anything our boys can use on the cruise, (waterproof camera, paperback books, "movie candy") and also have a few things for them at home when they get back - the stuff we don't want to lug on the trip with us.;)

I'm literally in the air on my way to business meetings in Texas - the flight offered free Wi-Fi - so I thought I would use my time to reach out to my 'DIS' family ;) Since all I can think about is the cruise - it's only fair to say hello to all of you! I'm out of town all week - so I've started a list on my blackberry to add those things that come to mind. It's hard to be out of town this close to the cruise - but we will be packed before Sunday so that I don't stress out the week before. I'm hoping for warm, beautiful weather!! Last year, the water at CC was way too cold for us Georgians - I typically don't swim until July when the water is more jacuzzish!! Keith and Brooke did enjoy the snorkling, but after 20-30 minutes, Brooke came out shivering asking to play in the sand.

I hope you all have a magical week!

I like these 2 options but I would lean towards #4 :surfweb:

I vote for option #2--mostly because it's actually "Easter" that day. :)

Packing! Oh I need to not overpack too. Last cruise we packed too much--and I can tell I'm headed in that same direction!!

So excited!! Can't wait. Kids still don't know. Though last night my son started asking questions--"Where are we going to eat on my birthday?" (He turns 13 on the cruise.) First I tried to just say "I don't know" but he knows me WAY better than that--I would NEVER just wing-it on a WDW vacation! So finally I just had to say, "It's a surprise. There are lots of places we haven't eaten at Disney World." Not exactly a lie. I didn't say were are eating AT Disney just making a general statement that we haven't eaten everywhere at WDW. :rolleyes1 Plus, he seemed surprised that I started packing--too early in his estimation. So I don't know what he's thinking. I want to keep it a secret!

Glad to hear from everyone here!!

I like these 2 options best because they happen ON Easter. #2 would be my first choice. #3 could work if the Easter Bunny left a note in the hotel room (maybe with a small treat?) that the big basket is waiting for her in a special place?

We will be at the Polynesian the night before and will have a nice leisurely morning before we have to leave for the port. So I plan on having the Easter Bunny visit that night and the girls open their baskets Easter morning before we leave for the cruise. I bought these felt "spring time" baskets at Hobby Lobby for $1 each that we will be using as our Easter Baskets. They collapse almost flat! I know the girls will want to put something out (like we normally set their big Easter baskets out the night before when we're at home), so I got these that won't be so bulky. I plan on having the basket contents already divided up in a big ziploc baggies so that I can easily slip the goodies into the bags that night with as little muss and fuss as possible. They are definitely not getting as much this year as they normally get in their big baskets (and it sure won't look as fancy), but hey, they're going on a cruise! :)

Packing, packing, packing. I don't know why I'm not motivated?!?!? The task just seems so overwhelming right now. Am I overpacking, am I underpacking? Argh! Seriously though, deep down I really love having this dilemma...what am I going to obsess over when the cruise is over????:upsidedow

Hi All,
I should know this but an email I got from DCL yesterday confused me. Are jeans allowed in the dining room or not? I'm mostly thinking about my nearly teenage son here. Here's an exact quote from an email I received from DCL yesterday... "Nice dining attire (no jeans or shorts at dinner, please)". But I know I've read other places that jeans are okay. Of course, on the dress up night I wouldn't even consider them. What do you all think? :confused3

I got the same email, and had a similar question about the Pirate night. My email said we could wear themed attire on Pirate night. My boys and husband all have pirate shirts that they were going to wear with shorts, but it also said no shorts in the dining room. So can they wear shorts on Pirate night?:confused3

I think Pirate night, all rules are out the window... I've seen shorts in a lot of pirate night pictures, although, that doesn't mean they went to main dining, I suppose.

I don't know many dressed up pirates ;)

Thank you everyone for your suggestions on Easter
... I'm thinking that I might do a little of each, like someone suggested, but mainly doing option #2... I think I'll at least have some Easter candy on her bed in the stateroom, and maybe a movie or two waiting for her at home...

I'm getting my FE gifts all situated! I'm so excited to pass them out. I'll probably pass out things everyday!

We've always done what we call "Tinker Bell gifts" She comes at night, gets into mischeif, then leaves presents in our room. They are usually like glow sticks, tattoos, lip gloss, a light up toy, small toy, or a bracelet... The gifts keep Kennedy from asking to buy something constantly, since she always has a new trinket to take to the parks. We buy all year round, especially when Christmas or other holiday stuff goes on clearance... FE gifts remind me of playing Tinker Bell, so I was so excited to join in. I hope we are able to spread some magic on to our new cruise pals!
