Hi Everyone,

DH just called to check out what movies will be playing during our sailing. In case anyone else is interested this is what he was told:

Alice in Wonderland in 3D

That's good news! I have been putting off the kids' requests to see Alice assuming it will be on the ship--but was afraid they'd be running the new Miley Cyrus movie instead of Alice. I'm glad it's Alice! (But I read on another post that another cruiser from this board was hoping for Miley's movie. Sorry!)

Our question is...do we have to put the canvas bag in some sort of bag to hold everything and to keep the bag from getting dirty as it makes it way around the ship?

I would definitely put it in a bag--to keep everything together. I'd suggest a Ziplock type bag--they make some REALLY big ones if you need a larger one to hold the canvas bag.

By the way--I didn't cave in and tell the kids tonight. But I've got a wild hair to make new tie dye Mickey Mouse t-shirts before we leave--on Thursday. (Yes, I am crazy.)

Whamma, I have some ideas for your surprise

I have surprised my daughter a lot, but usually because if trips are last minute or kinda up in the air, I don't want to tell her and get her all worked up...

Here are some ideas...

Talk to the CM that helps Mickey with autographs, and ask them to have Mickey write "See you on the Wonder" or something like that...

Tell them that there is a problem with your reservation and you will have to check out early... Disney is going to put you up in another room... wait for their disappointment... then throw in ... "on the Disney Wonder!"

We've had letters sent via Tinker Post, magical calls from Cinderella, bag packing by the Fairy Godmother... you name it! Surprises are so much fun!!!

1 week from today we will be on The Wonder!!!!

Ah man! We've seen all of those, except When in Rome, but not in , so that will be fun!! I cannot wait!!!

We haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet so we are excited to see it on the ship. Most of the other movies though have been out for so long we already have them on DVD

With the crew of 6 year old girls we have though I bet the Princess and the Frog will go over big

I did some major packing over the weekend and I finally feel "ready". Also I put our FE gifts together. This is our first cruise ever so I hope I did okay.

I'm so glad I read the post about the room change because I already had Kennedy's name and room number written on the outside of her gift. I just had to pull it out and make a quick update and now I'm good to go

Just finished my cruise door magnets and I finished and packed all the FE gifts today!

The cruise is so close, I'm getting nervous!

I have made a pillowcase for Kennedy before to have signed - We had it done in the parks. I thought that I read that they didn't do it anymore, so I was so happy to read that they do... *Phew* Now to go make another pillowcase!! *A tip for extra creativity & fun... The last time I made these, I embroidered her name on the edge in Glow in Dark thread. So it glows in her bedroom when I close the lights... It's really neat!

To all of those who leave early for a pre-cruise trip - please travel safely and have a great time! We'll see you on Sunday! I'll be listening for surprised cheering kids, too!!!

Tuesday, April 6th! (I'll be the mother of a teenager!! )

By the way, the tie-dye bug bit and I just finished the dye part of new t-shirts. Went for it with the Mickey Mouse head part--but I'm already afraid that the head will look like a big blob. Oh well, that's what bleach pens are for. For me tie dying is so cool because you never know how it's really going to look until you take off the rubberbands and rinse it out. Tomorrow night will be the reveal--until then I'll be waiting.

Your magnets look amazing!!! Also, what an awesome idea to use glow in the dark thread for the pillow cases. I ordered mine off of ebay personalized w/ my kid's names along w/ a Fish Extender. I am so NOT a sewer. How lucky for Kennedy that she has such a talented and creative mommy

my daughter is so excited getting her to bed last night was a task her first cruise she was only three, so she does not remember a whole lot, now it will be such fun for her and of course us!

Thanks 5 Disney Fans! I'm really not all that creative - I just happened to be staring at the thread and saw that there was a glow in the dark choice... And the embroidery isn't talent... LOL it's a fancy sewing machine that my mom bought for me so that I could be "domesticated."

As the trip gets closer and closer, my daughter gets more and more insane...

Yesterday was picture day... This was my facebook status:

Dear child, I understand that you are excited about our upcoming trip, but I refuse to let you dress as Minnie Mouse for picture day, no matter how many fake tears you attempt to produce! You'll thank me in about 10 years. - Your meanie mommy

Today - she just HAD to wear something with a princess on it...
Then she gets in the car at school pick-up and says... "Mommy, did you know that tomorrow there will only be 2 more days, and the next day, one more day, and then the next day is leaving day? Phew, I sure hope you've packed!"

We are all getting so excited too!!!! Today was my last day of work before we leave. Thank goodness. Now I have tomorrow to finish packing and twiddle my thumbs until it's time to leave. We are flying down Friday, going to the Magic Kingdom on Saturday (7am opening EEK!), and then on to the cruise with all of you on Sunday!

I keep checking the weather and it keeps getting better and better. Sunny, high near 80 and lows in the 60's!

We leave tomorrow!!! By this time tomorrow night, hopefully we'll be making a late night run to MK!! (Our flight doesn't get in to Orlando til 9:00 p.m.) We're staying at Wilderness Lodge for the first time. Kind of wish we were going to be at Bay Lake Tower--for the proximity to MK-- but wanted to try something new.

Amazingly, my kids still don't know about the cruise. We'll see how long I keep the secret once were at WDW. We've been so busy I haven't had time to agonize over it. Smarty-pants, nearly teenage son has announced that he's "99 percent sure" he knows what the surprise is. Oh well. Thankfully, I think DD is clueless and will be ecstatic!!

I renewed our annual passes online tonight--so we are set for another year (actually 15 months thanks to a special that WDW has right now on renewals).

I'm afraid to weigh my luggage. Even with 4 large bags--I'm afraid they'll be overweight!!!

My latest tie dye creations are done. You'll see them on Sunday. Look for the family in yellow and blue. Too bad that Michigan isn't in the NCAA B-ball Final Four because the color scheme looks very U. of Michigan!!

Hi Everyone! I just realized that a post I wrote yesterday never made it to the boards! You will all be my sounding board for the next 209 days--the only other person who knows about this trip is my DH and he doesn't share my enthusiasm for wanting to talk about it 24:7.

My kids--DS 12 (who will turn 13 while we're on the cruise!) and DD 7 will be ecstatic when they find out. I'd like to keep it a secret until the day we leave WDW to drive to port! They already know we are going to WDW for the week so I don't need to hide the fact we are making a trip. They have been begging to go on a DCL cruise since our last one in March 2008. The kids sail free deal sealed the deal! (Plus I wasn't really excited about spending Easter week at WDW--busy!)

We are staying in room 5518. It looks like many of you are 1st time DCLers. Anyone interested in doing "fish extenders"? If you don't know what they are, look them up on the first page of stickies under "DCL FAQ - New Alphabetical Listing of DCL Information". We did them on our last cruise and it was kind of fun. We certainly have some time to decide!

We are going on our first cruise June 11th with DH, DS 11 and DD 7!! We have booked 5518 too and wanted to know if you experienced any motion sickness? The location looks awesome and so EXCITED we can hardly stand it!!!

"Crazy"-- we were very happy with 5518. I felt the motion even less than our previous cruise when we were on deck 2. I recommend "Bonine" if you are concerned about motion sickness--I take a half tab. I have heard that you can get it from the ship doctor if you start feeling ill on the cruise. It's evidently in a big bowl in the office--like mints!! Have fun!!

Hope you all had as awesome of a time as we had!! Thanks so much for ALL of the gifts and wishes. I just sorted through all of the kid's FE treasures this morning. Too much fun!!!

Hope you all arrive(d) home safely. I'm halfway through the laundry.

Thansk to everyone participating in fish extenders! We were all thrilled everytime we went back to our room to see the surprises! Can't believe the awesome weather we had!!!

Regretfully, we did not rebook. I wish we had, but dh didn't seemed to enjoy it as much as the kids and I did. I hinted about rebooking, but he just didn't seemed too into it! Oh well....maybe next year I will be able to talk him into it.

We ended up being stuck in Orlando an extra night. Our flight was cancelled due to bad weather in Atlanta, so we couldn't get on another flight until Friday at 4:30. Then we had to fly to a different airport (otherwise we would still be in Florida!), it made for a long day yesterday! It sure was nice to be back in our beds last night!!'
