That's me. I didn't get a PM nor did PoohFriend#1. I see the way our names are listed that it could be the problem. I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you need. I've been at the Cleveland clinic for two weeks with my grandson. Just got home yesterday.

When I try PoohFriend#1, it does not work on the DIS. Could there be another way that it is listed?

Congratulations Erik and Jason on your wedding. Steven and I wish you many, many happy years together.

Corinna, thank you for all your hard work on the 'mini' navigator. It's fabulous.

Taken our cases out today and started getting things out to pack.

Looking forward to meeting everyone next weekend!

Ditto to all of the above!

Beth (and Harry)

PS We will also be wearing out shirts on embarkation.

John and I both finished packing. We each have two suitcases.....one large and one small. He only filled half of his big one and he's done. I filled both of mine so that I can't get another thing in them and now I'll be taking over his for the remainder of my things. Girls just need more luggage!!!:rotfl2:

I have this pleasure yet to come. This is on the to do list for tomorrow.

I took a day off from cruise preparations yesterday, but I am back in full swing today. So far today I have finished the jewellery kits and finished the last Fish Extender gifts for the men and boys doing multiple groups.

Things left on the to do list for today is sorting the supplies to convert earrings into charms, put the finishing touches to the Secret Mickey gifts, finishing the demo kit for the jewellery workshops, sort the Fish Extender gifts for the late joiners and do the final magnets. I will also start charging cameras, etc and make sure all memory cards are empty. This sounds a lot to do, but probably only will take me between an hour and 90 minutes with the magnets being the most time intensive. I can't believe that I am nearly done and even less that in 4 days I am flying to Los Angeles and in a week I am getting on the ship.

Corinna

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I can! ::yes:: Looking forward to see you again. Corinna:goodvibes

You guys know everything - if you've been to Maui before - Is there time to both drive to Haleakala AND do the Ocean Center? What's your 'not to be missed' destination there?

It's FINALLY raining in NYS.:thumbsup2

Happy DAY, all!

Good Morning Cruisers!
Happy Earth Day!

It rained here in The Villages all night...lightning and thunder keeping me awake! We sure needed the rain, though, what a nice Earth Day gift to us.

And I even got up before my 6:30am alarm.....only today and Wed. to go to work at DCL, then we fly out Thursday!

I better pack tomorrow!

Connie

Haleakala ...

Legend of Haleakala
There is a legend that tells the origin of Haleakala’s spectacular sunrise.
The demi-god Maui and his mother, Hina, lived near Rainbow Falls in Hilo on the island of Hawaii. Hina would make kapa from the bark of the wauke and mamaki tree, and the strips would be dyed with magnificent designs to form cloth. The kapa, however, would still be damp when night fell, and Hina would lament how the sun moved too quickly across the sky to dry the cloth.
Upon hearing this, the demi-god traveled to the island of Maui and climbed to the 10,000-foot summit of Haleakala, where the sun was asleep in the giant crater. Maui hid until morning and watched the sun begin his daily journey. As the first ray of sunshine appeared, Maui snared it with his lasso of twisted coconut fiber.
The sun demanded to be released, but Maui would not let go. “Promise me that you will move more slowly across the sky,” he told the sun. Left with no choice, the sun struck a bargain with the daring demi-god. He would move slowly for six months out of the year, and then move at his preferred pace for the other six months. Agreeing to the terms, Maui hurried home and told his mother the good news. As a reward, Hina made her son a new cape, and sure enough, it dried in one afternoon.

We were lucky to have backpacked and camped inside the crater for three nights...but that is another story...

Our flight back to Washington does not depart until 9 PM out of Long Beach Airport. We were just going to hang around the airport all day, but saw on the JetBlue site that we cannot check in our luggage more than four hours before the flight. Hanging around the airport is not a lot of fun, lugging our stuff is even less so.

So I have started looking for a hotel that has a day rate that is near the airport, but I have been unsuccessful so far.

If anyone knows of a hotel that has a daily rate, please let us know. Ideas for Plan B are also welcome.

Thanks,

Maybe you can do an excursion which will pick you up at the ship and then deposit you after at the airport. I did that in Hawaii after a cruise.

:hug:Sandy, sending hugs and prayers to your grandson.

Safe travels to every one starting to leave for this awesome vacation. We are not leaving until Saturday. We are hoping to make it to the DIS meet at DL on Saturday night, but I'm not sure I'll be able to stay awake, We will propably need to get up at 3am east coast time, fly 6 and a half hours, check in at the Marriott and go to DL...I will be tired! But like my hub says, we're gonna have four days at sea to catch up on sleep.:cloud9:

See you all soon,

Lissa
