Good Morning All, with another Spring beautiful day here (S. Florida), it is hard to get ready for work. I want to be in the garden in the mornings and working on cruise projects in the afternoons...But work is good too....so, perhaps someone could find a way to get 12 more hours in each day? Please?

Meanwhile ....

Aloha Kakaheika!!!!!

A few comments....

YUP, you are. LOTS of nights for Palo, don't worry about it!

On both the PC and the TA we got a sheet the first day with all the nights listed including the theme, dress and show.

Another sheet with the movie schedule.

Some of the "menus" from regular theme dinners I don't care for - but was surprised to find I enjoyed them all - were they changed? Couldn't say.

Imo, you cannot predict the order of play based on past experience. This is the first time with this itinerary. Even though the PC and the TA were both 14-15 days, they were vastly different.

I was lucky for PC as I was the second eastbound in 2008. I copied all the menus from the past cruise and had a good idea of what was on each day. This cruise will be different....and fun...I cannot wait....is is 18 days now?

I know the dates for formal and semiformal nights have been posted on this thread somewhere before but it would be nice to know ahead of booking Palo reservations what events are not to be missed in the main dining rooms.

With what little is known, would love to here from those who have done the TA & PC cruises about how they have planned in the past.

Ron

It seems the semi-formal ones keep moving about but no worries, we will enjoy!!!!

This is just a testing the waters at this point to see how much interest there is and I cannot promise that I can make this work. If the interest is there, I will try to make this happen.

Some people suggested that we could have a mascot meet on the cruise. How many people would be interested in this? As the sea days going to Hawaii now look pretty busy, we could have this on the way back.

Corinna

Oh yes, yes, yes...We are very interested in a mascot meet, even DH turns out for that one. And Hedgie too of course.......

Lots and lots of cruise info being posted back and forth.
Bob asked me about the guys getting together too. Is the card game off? Is there interest in the guys getting together at the same time? Would they want a private tasting? Maybe the Cadallac is available at the same time. Don't have much time, but if there is interest, I could call. How about an optional Hawaiian Shirt Contest and tasting? Perhaps at the end we could all meet in the lobby for pictures - Both groups separate and together? Don't know if there is any interest but willing to see.

Val & Bob

A Hawaiian shirt contest would be so much fun, but Bob would have to be the judge!!!! No way could any DH win with him on board.:thumbsup2 The trick would be whether it was before or after he can stock up in Hawaii!!!!!!

As far as I know the card game is on, but with the kid's club hours being so erratic at the moment, some people have asked that they are not at the same time as this would mean that one parent may have to watch the kids.

Corinna

Thanks for the tip about the Aloha postcard stamps! They are great!!:goodvibes

Note to self, must remember to purchase stamps....

That's a good idea. When we were on the 2008 WBPC cruise one morning we had a PJ breakfast in Lumieres with optional mascots followed by photos outside in the atrium one of which was just the mascots and their owners.

Ann

Yes, we did not make the breakfast bu were awake for the pics.....I'll look and see if I can post mine....(it was film...:scared1:)

The average is usually in the mid-70's which I think is great traveling weather and for those from the northwest that is definitely shorts weather! But the west coast is really experiencing a lot of flack from La Nina this Spring and it is messed up all along the coast so who knows. Those of you from Florida will probably be chilly. My family from there comes here in August when we are in the 80's and 90's with lows in the 65-75 range and the freeze to death. Difference in humidity seems to make it colder to them...we are burning up:lmao:

Excuse me, note to self...take a winter coat...
Second note to self, buy a winter coat!!!!!

Seriously, we are packing long sleeves and slacks......It was cold on the WB PC....dive jacket over the gown....Not the height of fashion....

Hello everyone. I'm a last min addition and am very excited for this cruise. If you don't know already eeyorelover10 is my mom (who, by the way, commandeered my original disname :rotfl:) and some of you have prob seen me around the design thread. How funny! It's certainly one of our favorite memories from all of our cruises! We would have starved if it wasn't for you! :rotfl2: To think you rescued us from a couple of tables away. :thumbsup2

Would you share the story?

IF the pajama breakfast becomes a reality Walmart has a good selection of ladies Disney lounge pants, pj etc. The last one we went to the men had on some type of Disney tee shirt with shorts, sweatpants etc.

This will be our 1st trip to DL, and we are staying @ GC.
we may make it to say hello @ this meet, but we may be enjoying the park too much....;)

I will PM my cell

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

DIsneyland Pre-Cruise Meet

OK I'll take the bull by the horns here

Currently planned for for 7:30 - 8:30 pm Saturday April 28 by the fireplace in the Grand Californian Lobby -

To attend: please pm your cell phone number nlt Saturday 4/28 at 6 am with DL Meet in the subject line and I will then give you mine - I don't want to just post it on the public forum. If the timing doesn't work for those who sign up, we will come to a new agreement.

 I HOPE you got a picture!

And so...called DVC member services this morning to see if a studio was available on April 28th.....not available....but they checked the regular hotel and they had availability....only 54 points for a hotel room for 1 night....so we will be staying at the Marriott which we have booked for a reasonable $99 for the night....if we get in earlier maybe get some transportation over to Disneyland for the day.....well see.
I want to play some poker please!!!

I'd like to check for updates on the FE list, but can't find the link. Can someone please help?

actually Milliepie does have some designs for hawaii and I've had a hula skirt minnie head in my photobucket for a while and I actually just posted 2 that I just finished with...I might have a few more in mind but I usually just disign when other people ask...I'm having a DISign block :rotfl: so if anyone has anything in mind please let me know I'll be happy to do something...if not I think I'll just stick to what I have

I love the 2 you posted, but could not find any from Milliepie so I just posted there asking her.

Hi Judy-

Go into her 4 shared. Click the Requests completed folder
Then click on the cruise filled subfolder
Then you'll see a folder that says Hawaii
They are in there

Since this is DCL first ever trip to Hawaii do you think they may bring on some big surprise entertainment? I know on the WBTA we had a couple of surprise guests. What do you think?
Tom:cool1: & Marilou:cheer2:

Hello Folks:

So with the info that guests cannot exchange $$ with guests on DCL cruises, I am a bit of a loss as to how to effectively arrange/manage the poker tourney.

My thought at this point is that we should probably just play this by ear once we get onboard and if we want to proceed, to perhaps handle the $$ in port and play on our way back. I just don't want to do anything that would break the DCL rules or jeopardize all the other cool things we are planning.

I'm not too interested in doing the PayPal thing to collect money in advance as I got my hand slapped by PayPal about receiving so much $$ as "gifts" to avoid the fees for the alternate luau.

I can still bring a set of chips and cards since we are driving to the port and would love to solicit a couple of other folks to do the same if they can just in case we can work this out once onboard.

Thanks
Stephanie

Maybe the way forward is to just forget the money/ prize idea and play completely for fun. That way people can still play without anybody having a headache about collecting and distributing money.

Linda the meet sounds good to us.

Val= John is up for a Hawaiian shirt contest and some type of tasting. Is there a beer tasting available? I know they have the wine

Corrina- the pj breakfast with the mascots sounds great

Just to make this absolutely clear, I am not proposing to organize the PJ breakfast. I am sure that this can be a lot of fun, but it is not my thing. I was planning to get a venue for an hour one afternoon for the Mascot Meet and Greet. If people want a PJ breakfast, then I am afraid somebody needs to come forward to take ownership of this. I am more than happy to help get the word out and to add it to the Navigator, but that will be the extend of my involvement in this particular project.

That would be fun! I am excited to see Mike Super again. He is really awesome.

I would MUCH prefer this to a pajama breakfast! NOT a fan of ginormous events, although I *will* show up for the first day meet & greet.

Tom:cool1:& Marilou:cheer2:

Okay, so I think we've settled on a "no-money" tourney for now. If we come up with a way to "sweeten the pot" after we get onboard that meets the DCL rules, we can change the plan.

Everyone will just get $100 worth of chips to begin play.

I have one set of poker chips and 2 sets of cards. I need at least 2 other participants to bring along a set of chips (so we have 3 sets total) - Can someone out there offer to do that?

I think we'll plan on a date/time of Wednesday, May 9th at 1pm. We'll have to wait on a place until we know what venue will be open. But, let's tentatively plan on Diversions.

Thanks!
Stephanie
