We are starting yet another heatwave here in CNY so we are making beef and broccoli on the Blackstone tonight so we don't heat up the house anymore than necessary.
Had a nice evening on the patio at the golf course down the street. I had grilled salmon, fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus. Hubs had a pulled pork sandwich & truffle fries.
Getting ready to head out on the boat for a few hours, then youngest daughter and grandson are coming over for grilled burgers. My daughter is pregnant and having a hard time eating..she texted the other day that she was craving my tea sandwiches. LOL So I’ll make up a batch of egg salad & cucumber cream cheese squares for her to take home.
We really enjoyed Geo 82 but got an adr for before dinner.
Did you have dinner at CB AFTER the fireworks!??
And did you pay the extra for fireworks viewing
Sorry it took so long to answer
Keep thinking there was something I needed to do and then a something else came along…squirrel!
Geo first with a 2:45 adr then fireworks later finally CB; it was a long day.
Lucky you if you can get a reservation to watch the fireworks! I don’t think you need to pay extra since I think all the seating will allow good fireworks viewing.
Come back and tell us what you think
Whole Maine lobster on the grill. We live around Chicago but are fortunate to have a wholesale fish operation that supplies area restaurants. They have a retail store as well.
Burgers and brats tomorrows with the family to celebrate my 68 birthday

I did get an adr last month. It was beautiful inside.
I’m not sure why they even charge extra for the fireworks viewing bc like you said all seats are good, but they do. I heard it’s just the tables right in front of the middle windows.
I don’t think I’ll be viewing the FW from Geo 82 any time soon.
Sounds like you had a great trip!!

I think they are charging extra because they can
If there is a continued demand they’ll just add more seats to the original 7 that are dedicated to the evening firework dining experience. Otherwise they’ll continue with the original seating knowing that they’ll increase the profit of the overall restaurant. Genius from an industry POV.
it's strange-we are having another heat wave this week but the trees and bushes are starting to turn to fall colors so it's got me thinking of colder months and foods that lend themself. with that in mind i'm trying to start using up the BBQ friendly foods in the freezer. dh is going to do up 2 dozen chicken drumsticks tonight so plenty of stuff for dinner and to nosh on for several days, tomorrow he will do a large rack of pork ribs that will also last several days. I'll make some loaded stuffed potatoes and a bag of waffle fries along with a can of good old reliable griller beans.
It was beautiful here today. I took a ride out and spent the day at a friends pool. I brought a vegetable platter from the garden and refrigerator pickles. We also had homemade guacamole, homemade salsa and chips, bruschetta with tomatoes from a friends garden, wings, charcuterie board, and brownies. On the way home I picked DH up a pizza.
