Just made reservations for the Fantasmic Dessert on April 28th for the first show. After that we will watch the fireworks and then fo back to the room to pack for the next 15 WONDERful days. Can't wait.

Dale aka Kaila

Me too except I'm doing the late show on April 28th! :thumbsup2

I can bring some fabric strips and a "j" crochet hook.....

:confused3 Do you want me to teach you or make some from your scraps for you to give out?

If you and/or I are/am making more on the ship we will need scissors to cut the fabric into strips and needle and thread to sew small pieces together.

Let me know your idea so I can pack the right stuff.
:)

Think how much native Hawaiians would have liked to meet you--with a name they could pronounce and spell!!

Hey guys....could someone please advise me where and what company you would recommend to my DW and I who and where we should rent a car in Maui? We would love to see the island and feel the best way would be with a rental car. Help please!
Tom & Marilou

I bought a "j" crochet hook today.....If I don't have time to make the bracelets before we leave, we can work on them on the ship! Connie

OK :cool1: Now I understand--it's a time thing.
let me know if you want me to bring my stuff too and I can help.

:woohoo:

My husband has been making fun of me since we booked this cruise a few weeks ago. I've been reading this thread non-stop, to gather all the extremely valuable information you all have to offer. Never having cruised before, it's been so helpful. But it took a long time to read it, and he's been calling me a stalker. I'm not, but I don't have much to say, other than thanks for the help you didn't realize you were giving, and we're looking forward to the time with our little ones. I'll be at the little people meet with our son (6) and daughter (3). They're so excited to go on "the hotel boat."

"HOTEL BOAT" :boat: very cute!

Our granddaughter calls it the MICKEY SHIP. :sail:

I'm glad I checked our flights tonight. They changed our last leg in Chicago and now we have 40 minutes to get off the plane and to different gate to catch the flight home. I hate ORD because coming in or going out..you are always late. Seems they cancelled our flight #, but there are other 2 lights and they moved us to one who has only 40 minutes layover...need to call them tomorrow....they also moved our confirmed seats from the front of our plane to way back....what in the world????? Do I need to say that I didn't get a phone call or email about changes.....

 So sorry
You are flying from LA to MO through Chicago? I would have expected something direct to StL. (silly me.......)

We once flew from Orlando to Indianapolis via Kansas City. (Check a map on that one! and the only storm in the whole country was sitting over Kansas City MO and Kansas City KS. The bumpy air started near St Louis and we were glad we wer flying home from WDW since alll the children on the plane thought it was as much fun as a ride at the parks and were laughing. :rotfl:

Yes, because we then fly from Chicago to Springfield, MO which is only an hour drive from our house. St. Louis is almost 3.

I tried the spreadsheet, but it looks organized. (I fear messing around with other people's organization, given that organization is such hard work.) Do I just stick my info down on the bottom line? (Sorry, that sounds like such a silly question. Did I mention that I was new to this).

And, yeah, can I say my two were beside themselves at the idea of an entire restaurant devoted to hot dogs!

Yup--add yourself at the bottom of the list. There is no way you can mess it up any worse than we all have during the year of its existance......:rotfl:

The hot dogs share THEIR restaurant with chicken fingers, hamburgers, french fries and a fish sandwich if I recall correctly. I am a chicken finger afficianado so do not pay much attention to the other items. :lmao:

These are adorable!!! I might have to steal for a door magnet.

Deb/Kepi and DH John/Keoni

It is not stealing. I found them on line and posted them here for people to enjoy and use as they see fit. Knock yourself out!

I hope all was fine with the MD. BUT...under no conditions should we allow our hubbies to meet.....there is not enough Hawaiian fabric in this world....

the last thing anyone of us needs is another thing to organize...but how about....Crazy Hawaiian Shirt Night.....:rotfl:

:rotfl: I suspect that CRAZY HAWAIIAN SHIRT NIGHT would quickly become a runway battle between your husband (Gary?) and Bob. :lmao:

Dale - you are right - I did go through a travel agent. I can bug them.
Didn't think about that. THANKS!!

And our Hawaiian names are:

Jan(et) - Kaneki, or Kana for Jan.
Tom - Koma

I was just wondering what the Hawaiian is for Tom and here you go, posting it and your full name. We are a Janet and a Thomas too. Thanks for doign the research! So how shall we distinguish? Our last name starts with E and we live in Indiana--any suggestions?

chip&dale&fun: have you any ideas?

.

Well,I was thinking of seaming together some strips and then we could cut them to length to make them or show someone else how to make them. I always have scissors, and needle and thread with me.

The crocheted bracelets are made from strips that are 3/4 inch wide and 45 inches long. Little pieces can be sewn together so almost anything is useable.

If you have sideseam pieces you can share, send me a PM and we will talk.

I bet Linda (Seaulater) will be able to tell you how to cover the scrapbook or you could ask at a craft or a scrapbook store. My scrapbooks are 3 ring binders so I would get one with the clear plastic pocket on the front. Take a piece of stiff paper, lay it on the fabric where I want it, cut the fabric a couple inches larger, fold over the edges of fabric, tape them down, turn it over and slide it in the clear cover pocket. :confused3

But that's just me. .... :upsidedow

Well, my lady was too efficient, she had finished the shirt last Friday.

I will see Linda on the MV. I will try to ask her.

We leave in 5 hrs to head over to WDW for a couple of days before the MV. So, I will be out of touch for a while.

Can't figure out how to pack all the FE's. At least we're driving, I can always pull out another piece of luggage, but then trying to get everything to fit in the van. :scared:

I used a broker - I'll have to look up the name for you - 2nd driver is free when you book with them.

::yes::

So far I am collecting scraps, cutting my own strips, crocheting the bracelets and putting them in baggies to hand out on the ship to those who have asked.
Jan/ Kana

.

I always have scissors, needle & thread if anyone needs them. I'll be bringing a crochet project too - does anyone know how to do a "post stitch" ?

Monica = Monika

:rotfl2::laughing:

One of the reasons the names are not that different from the English names is because they are not translations. They are Hawaiianized English, taking the English letters and combining with the Hawaiian alphabet.

For a translation you need to look to the meaning of the English name and translate the meaning, not the letters...So the root of Monica seems to come from the Greek and it means alone...In Hawaiian, the word Kiakahi corresponds to the Greek alone and means the only one, unique and supreme.

That is pretty......Kia - a - hi.....

good Morning all.....class dismissed.....:lmao:
