Tomatoface, we are in 2000. Just 7 staterooms down from you. It is our favorite on the ship. We were in it for the 2005 EP Pc cruise. We had some VERY rough waters because of Hurricane Hilary and IMHO the stateroom served us well. Please don't worry. I think you should be fine. We do take meclizine every day so that helped us a lot I'm sure.
Well,I was thinking of seaming together some strips and then we could cut them to length to make them or show someone else how to make them. I always have scissors, and needle and thread with me.
......... I'll be bringing a crochet project too - does anyone know how to do a "post stitch" ?
it is easier to show than to tell, but this site has a couple pictures.
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-work-frontpost-doublecrochet-stitches.html
Instead of making the double crochet stitch THROUGH THE WORK (crochet hook going from front to back to pick up the yarn)
you put your hook in beside a double crochet post and out the other side of it--right to left (if you are right handed), hook the yarn in the front of the project on the left of the double crochet post and pull it through to the right of the post by going behind the post. Then complete it as a double crochet. It pulls the posts to the front and makes a texture.
Check the pictures and try it a couple times.
I hope this is clear.
(What cha makin'?)

Not making anything with THAT stitch at least not right now! I made a swatch of it in a checkerboard pattern and got so frustrated with it I put it away. Currently making reversible baby afghans that are just doubles and chains.

Yay!.. Another Kansan!..I was beginning to think I was going to be the only Dorothy going!
Welcome Aboard!![]()
My husband has been making fun of me since we booked this cruise a few weeks ago. I've been reading this thread non-stop, to gather all the extremely valuable information you all have to offer. Never having cruised before, it's been so helpful. But it took a long time to read it, and he's been calling me a stalker. I'm not, but I don't have much to say, other than thanks for the help you didn't realize you were giving, and we're looking forward to the time with our little ones. I'll be at the little people meet with our son (6) and daughter (3). They're so excited to go on "the hotel boat."
Wanted to join in all the fun! We will be sailing with everyone else in April. This is only our second cruise. We are seasoned WDW travelers and just starting cruising last year on the dream. We really enjoyed ourselves and so we booked this one! We will be spending a few days at Disneyland before the cruise since we have never been there. We from Kansas and will be bringing two little kids along, an almost 2 year old and a 3.5 year old. Really looking forward to it!
Finally, if you have any tips on how to combat motion sickness I would appreciate any suggestions that have worked for you in the past.
Tomatoface
We have been in forward cabins on higher decks where there would be more motion without problem. We felt the movement but it was like a rocking chair, not a rollercoaster. We don't do rollercoasters.
As I recall, seasick meds are available at the infirmary--one time we saw a basket full outside the infirmary door. In 12 cruises we have never taken any seasickness meds.
We are in 2515 this time so forward like you and on the other side of the ship.

Seems like Bonine is the way to go for the sea sick prone cruiser!.. I have only been on once cruise and was sick 2 of the 4 nights.. (in and out of Port Canaveral).. I am coming armed with combatants this time!..
In case anyone needs it.. I was just able to get 6 packs of 16 tablets of Bonine off of Amazon for $33 and some change with free shipping. It come out to about 5.50 box. I noticed that a pack of 16 at Walgreens was $7.99. Hope this helps if anyone is looking for Bonine!![]()
Is Bonnie different than Dramamine?? I've taken dramamine before - which worked great, but it put me to sleep! Does Bonnie make you sleepy? I don't normally get seasick unless the motion is really bad, but I get motion sick in cars if I'm not driving!
Ask the pharmacist for meclizine. They have bottles of 100 behind the counter - or can order it from the wholesaler. We paid about $6 for a bottle of 100 about 5 years ago. Or, my favorite.....get them free from Guest Services or the medical center onboard. They come two in each packet.
Bonine is meclizine. Kids under 12 should not take this. They should have dimenhydrinate = Dramamine.

There is Bonine for Kids. Box says do not use it for kids 6 and under without doctors approval.
Bonine should make you less tired and sleepy then Dramamine.
