April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Inagural Wonder to Hawaii-Part 3

Welcome, welcome, welcome!!

I'm the one planning the alternative luau in Maui. Because we have so many folks likely participating, I will be contacting DCL to let them know our plans both in advance of the trip and once we are underway. I'm sure they would want to know where 75+ of their people are in case there is any problem at all.

Hope this helps
Steph

Are there still openings for the alternative luau? Also, where is it at? TIA.

My husband and I would like to spend the day at Aulani when we are in Oahu. We were wondering if anyone else is thinking the same. We spoke with Patti at DVC sales at Aulani and she did tell me that they were trying to still get an excursion together for the cruise. She will let me know something by the end of the week. If not- we were thinking of reserving a night so we could participate in all the activities including use of the pool and wondering if anyone would like to "split" the cost of the room. We can have 4 people in a studio. We would not use the room but get all the privileges of staying there The activities look great at Aulani and none of the other excursions appealed to us. I'm interested in knowing what others are doing:)

We also signed up for the Luau that is being planned...Thanks to everyone for all the hard work in planning many of the other fun things:)

Hi! I just posted to your question on the FB page. We're excited about spending the day there to see the resort. We love to vacation HI, but prefer the other islands to Oahu - hoping the Aulani might change that - so we want to give it a try.

Hoping to do the lazy river, maybe snorkel with the fish in the reef, checkout the other daily activities, and have dinner with the characters...plus maybe grab something from the shop unique to Aulani.

I've had a hard time keeping up with all the wonderful posts for our cruise! Could you give me a quick run down of the details about the alternative luau. I really don't want to pay the 90+% markup on the Old Lahaina Luau through DCL. Thanks!

The info for the alternative luau are on page 138 post 2063!.:thumbsup2

We are flying in on fri to se family up near venutra and then could return car to LAX.... Im curious, did they have a shuttle from LAX to there or are you getting it on your own? We might be interested if was easy to get down there.

I think Entrrprise Rent-a-Car has an office in San Pedro. Then you could drop people and luggage at the hotel or ship (whichever day you are arriving) and one person drop the car and get their shuttle back.

Has Mom changed her mind?

DW and I are looking forward to going to Aulani with others from this cruise. She and I have been to Hawaii many times and are looking forward to a day of relaxation at the newest DVC resort. We have booked a studio (ocean view) for the day the Wonder is at Honolulu. Would like to know what transportation type others are planning to use to get to Aulani from the cruise ship terminal (which I think is near the Aloha Tower) and return. (not a very good planner myself)

Hello all....just spoke with DCL regarding transfers to the port....they claim they only pick up from the Marriott by the airport...I guess that is besides the Disney hotels near Disneyland. I also checked about the luggage and once it is put outside your stateroom you don't touch it again....similar to the way they handle it in Florida....

We booked DCL transfers from DL to the Port. We are staying at a the Candy Cane Inn, which is a good neighbor. DCL will not pick us up there, we have to get a cab or walk from CCI to GC to catch the DCL bus..

If you have questions please feel free to ask here from the group or PM me. We have found that dining with and getting to know our fellow DISers is one of the most fun things we do on the cruises. :grouphug: Generally they seat us at tables of 6-8 people. But, will accomodate if we request a table for a family of 4 alone but in the same area as the group.

Is anyone doing this for early seating?? :confused3

Whining coming -

The USPS has raised their rates, effective today. I am not sure how this will affect the shirt mailings but for now I'll just wait and see. I am hoping I built a little extra into the mailing portion from the manufacturers and that will cover the USPS costs. Anyway, when all are mailed will give a complete cost breakdown to the group.

AND 49ers lost in overtime - Sometimes life isn't fair.

Becky advises that she will be able to fill all the wait list people and a few more if we get them. So all you newly arrived cruisers, if you are interested in information on ordering one of our cruise shirts, send me an e-mail at Valbob89@aol.com for details.

She also indicated they have plenty of material, 20 yards extra. The minimum order is 1 yard, so those who are looking for a smaller amount, maybe someone who has ordered yardage can help with their left over scrap material.

val

Hi Val-

I would be interested if there's any extra material.

Anyone know how much I would need to cover 2 12x12 scrapbooks-the one we will be doing on the ship?

Thanks

I would think 1 yard would cover it with extra. Let me know ASAP if you want it. val

Hello everyone!

My husband and I will be crusing with you in May - signed up the first week, but I just found the dis thread through my buddy dcannon who is also cruising!!

We are soooo excited, but a little overwhelmed with shore excursions!

There are things we would like to do but don't seem to be offered as excursions.

Anyone have thoughts on getting excursions not through the cruise? Makes me a bit nervous...:)

Welcome on board.

Wanted to be sure you noticed a previous post #2256 regarding the Secret Mickey list. She needs some information from you..

Thank you :thumbsup2

Corinna

This is the last call for anyone who wishes to be put on our cruise shirt wait list. Send me a PM or e-mail to Valbob89@aol.com and I'll send you details and instructions.

Becky also indicates there may be extra material available. She is checking on how much and will let me know. Contact me if you are interested.

You can access my Flicker pages, which contain this image and other cruise images, at QUOTE]
