Well, finally finished getting the decorations up in the living room. Here is our tree. Note the b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l new panels in the windows. You can see the flower power jeweled decorations we made for the window panels and our smiley faces. I don't know if you can see it, but the star at the top of the tree has a picture John Wayne swinging a rope in the center - Bob is very proud of that find. The tree rotates, kinda makes you dizzy.

This looks amazing :thumbsup2

I love this!! And John Wayne, oh my!!! :worship:

Angie, that would be wonderful!! Please count Nancy and i in the late seating group. We would love to be linked to you guys or whoever you choose.

Sorry, I haven't been on much lately as still helping GD Aspen with college essays etc. Will try to be more active in the new year!!

As long as I don't hear that someone else is already taking on this task.....
For now you will need to put your name on the Late Dining tab on the spreadsheet that can be found on the first post of this thread. I will need a pm with your full names and ressie numbers. Disney Cruise Line requires this to link the reservations. We will not be doing this, of course, until after all have the opportunity to book excursions, Palo, etc. So, about 40 days prior to cruise I will need to have all this in place. If you have any special requests as to who you would like to sit at the table with let me know. We will all be in the same area, but we can request specific people at tables and DCL has honored these requests in the past.

I will repost this a few times so no one that wants to be linked gets missed.

the ornaments may have to go, I can walk right under them but Bob keeps hitting his head on them.

the purple cover on the coach doesn't look half bad. My case of lengendary princesses look pretty good with the pillows colors too.

found the blue and fushia dyed poinsettas at our local nursery but everytime I water them it makes a mess in my kitchen sink.

I have been mainly lurking recently as life has got crazy busy. I am still reading, but don't have as much time posting as I would like. I did not get the promotion that I had applied for before going on my big vacation. I was a little disappointed at first, but I have to say that at the moment I love my job more than I have in the last couple of years. We are making some tweaks to various job roles at the moment and it just so happens that I seem to be doing more of the things I like (training, coaching, team assist, etc.) and less of the ones I don't. Long may it continue!

One of the side effects of not getting the promotion is that my work life balance has been somewhat thrown into disarray. I don't drive and I have been car sharing with one of my co-workers for the last 3.5 years. He did get one of the promotions and is now on fixed hours whereas I continue to work shifts. It takes me a lot longer to get to and from work by train especially as I don't always manage to get away promptly either now that nobody breathes down my neck anymore. On a positive note, I do seem to have a lot more time to do things like listening to music and reading when commuting by train. I recently got a new phone. I went with the iPhone 4S and I am absolutely blown away by the sound quality.

I am nearly ready for Christmas. I have all presents apart from one stocking stuffer for Graham, that I ordered online and still has not arrived. Everything else is wrapped and ready to go. Two of the presents are for this cruise and are slightly tongue in cheek. I will post photos of them after Christmas. I can't wait to see his face when he unwraps them.

I have to get some ribbon to tie around the gift boxes that contain the presents for two of my co-workers and that is on the to do list for tomorrow.

I managed to get the turkey, side dishes and Christmas pudding for our Christmas dinner today. I have Friday off this week and I am going to have to brave the crowds then to get the vegetables. Boxing Day, we will just have assorted hot canapes this year. I have to work all three days of Christmas and I will be on the late shift on Boxing Day. As there is no public transport on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, I had to hire a car and Graham will chauffeur me back and forth between home and work. He is lucky enough to be on vacation from December 24th to January 3rd. So that way, I can just put the canapes in the oven when we get back and we can eat 20 minutes later.

I had one Christmas party. I especially got myself a new evening gown for the occasion from the same seller I got the two wedding dresses from. In fact what drew me to it was that it has a similar top to the dress that I wore for the actual vow renewal, but the skirt looks pretty similar to the dress that I wore for the Trash the Dress photo shoot. Unfortunately it did not arrive in time. The party was on the Saturday, and the dress arrived on the Monday. Still, I will need to formal dresses for this cruise so it will get worn then. It seems very fitting for the Prince and Princess theme of one menu.

Princessgown.jpg

We have had a look at the excursions and have come up with two possibles for each port. We still need to do some research about doing something independently, but maybe Graham feels inspired to do this over Christmas and New Year while I am at work.

First thing in the new year, I will have to get my thinking caps on and give some serious thought to both Fish Extender gifts and possible projects for the jewellery making workshops. I am hoping that I will also have a bit more time to be active on here.

The dress is beautiful, you'll look like Cinderella. val

I sent my weekly update to our shirt maker yesterday and mentioned to her our count. I reminded her about the need to update the port order and spelling of Nawiliwili on our design. Also, requested reconfirmation of the anticipated delivery date of the material and shirts.

Becky responded that correcting the ports is no problem (thanks Alan).

However, her other news wasn't so good. The factory holiday close date has changed and the bottom line is if we want to get the material back in February, she needs the order and $ tomorrow. I have sent e-mails to the three people who had ordered but not yet paid for material explaining the problem. I am so sorry, I know this is a hard time to ask for funds especially with no advance notice.

Delivery of the shirts by mid-March is still on target.

Hi Noel! I didn't realize you were going to be on this trip, too. (I think there is a core group of cruisers that loves loooong trips; it seems we have joined them.)

We love the long cruises, I can't honestly see many shorter ones in our future... and there are a lot of familar names on the roll call and no doubt more familiar faces onboard (or those that I haven't associated with their board names most likely ;) )

In terms of linking the dining, what is involved for someone to arrange this? I might be up to the task of arranging for main/early dining - if it can be done via email.

Hi
I have wanted to say hallo for a long time now.

My name is Christina and I’m 32 and live in Denmark with my husband and son. We booked this cruise when it first came out, but I was busy with work and planning our WBTA cruise so I didn’t say hello at that time.

After the cruise we were supposed to spend 2 weeks at Disney world, but we got in a car accident on the way there. I, luckily, was the only one that got hurt – I broke my elbow pretty badly and injured some nerves, so my elbow and pinky isn’t working 100 % (hopefully they will again someday). After 1½ weeks in a hospital in Orlando we finally returned back home to Denmark.

For a long time I was afraid we weren’t going to make this cruise, but my doctor says, that I will be able to go. My arm will not be okay by the time of the cruise, but I will be able to travel.

I’m very excited about going to Hawaii. I always wanted to get married there, but it wasn’t in the cards. But next year we are celebrating 10 years of marriage, so we decided to renew our wows on the trip.

We are also celebrating my sons 6th birthday.

I haven’t read very much in the tread yet, but I will start now that we decided that we’re definitely going:thumbsup2.

Val - love your tree and Corrina the dresses are lovely

We went to the port yesterday and saw the Dream leave. We took a video of John and I with the Dream in the background telling our grandchildren that they will be going on a Disney cruise in July. They have never been on a cruise and they love Disney. Can't wait until they are here and we break the news to them.

Welcome to the group. I am Jon and my DW is Candida.

I pop in every now and then but haven't posted much since Candida doesn't know about this cruise yet. She'll find out on Christmas.

Sorry to hear about you last trip. Not the way anyone wants to spend a vacation.

Jon
