Sorry you are leaving us, but you will have a great cruise in October!

I booked an incoming flight, the day before. But I'd like to fly out on the 14th. How late a flight should that be? The one back from Long Beach is something like 11:15. I could go the next day but then I'd have to pay for a hotel again and I'm already doing that on the incoming flight.

I am sorry that you won't be cruising with us, but I am sure that you will have a wonderful time in October.

I think they recommended no flights earlier than midday. Having said that, Long Beach is closer and I was waiting in front of the terminal by 8:10 after our Mexican Riviera cruise and this was with luggage assistance.

Something I think you should concider is, have you budgeted if for some reason the ship is not cleared by customs till late. Say you can't get off until 10:00. No way would you make a 11:15 flight. Then you have all the change fees and stuff. I always plan for the worst and hope for the best. This is one reason we always use DCL transport in FL. If anything, and I do mean anything makes that bus late, the ship is not leaving without us. We are concidering using DCL transport at least to the ship for this cruise even though we only live about 20 min from the port just becaude of some wired unforeseen circumstance. To us it is worth the extra money for piece of mind.

Our SWA flight out on the 14th is at 12:20pm... I sure hope we make it. Not sure if we will use DCL transport to LAX or get something on our own... anyone know which might be quicker??

No, I have not "budgeted." I can pay whatever it takes but I prefer not to pay for a hotel to go home on the 15th. I want to fly out on the 14th if I can get a flight at a time Disney recommends. Then I don't have to take the 15th off work, either. Will probably have to go to LAX instead of Long Beach. I have not booked the return flight, but I would have preferred Jet Blue. It looks like their times will not work.

Actually the best prices are from Ontario but I don't know if Disney will drive me there.

I was just reading today that Titanic is coming out at the beginning of April in 3D. I can't think of a better place to watch it then on DCL!

I will bet a round of drinks in Wavebands that it will not be shown. Two reasons, first it is a Paramount/ 20th Century Fox fin and second it is a love story set on a SINKING ship.

Ooooooo, not taking that bet! :lmao:

One of our first cruises we went to a Q&A with the Captain. There must have been four different people who asked how the Disney MAGIC was different from the Titanic. Each time he answered as if it was a new question and told us that the MAGIC was wider, longer and higher so twice as big. Not twice as long and twice as wide and twice as high as that would be 6 times larger.

On the way out of Rocking Bar D we heard one man ask another the same question. The second guy moaned and rolled his eyes and the first one said "Come on, ask me, how is the Disney MAGIC different from the Titanic."

So, the second guy asked the question and the first one said:
"The Disney MAGIC is still afloat."

I saw the Captain at a signing later and told him. He chuckled.

I dunno about "Titanic," Disney wants to make nice with James Cameron. Actually my favorite sinking ship movie is "Poseidon Adventure"

More lifeboats?

I think I'm going to book that 12:20 SWA flight so I'll be going off the ship with Leslie. (Disney transfers, I think)

Oh my fault. I guess for those that did not know, I should not have mentioned it has a love story. My bad.
Wait! There's a love story??? ;)

Adding a third reason to your list, I thought the point of the new release was the 3D, which I'm not sure the ships have upgraded their equipment to.

Okay true story: When the movie first came out, a co-worker told me how his wife was so excited to see it and he had taken her opening day. She came out crying and saying, "It's so sad! I didn't know it would be so sad!". I'm sure the look on my face was priceless because he started laughing, but I was good and kept my mouth shut, but all I could think was. "Seriously! How clueless can you be, of course it's sad, it's the TITANIC!!!!"

JMO - someone should kick James Cameron, why he thinks this needs a re-release and in 3D no less is beyond me. I wish he had never started the trend, and I wish film makers would stop playing with the new technology/toy that adds nothing, and quite often detracts from the movie and story.

:surfweb:

The love story part is awful, but the sinking ship thing is really well done. I wonder if it's possible to enter the film halfway through to see that part in 3D.

I've seen numerous movies in 3D aboard the Magic and Wonder.
