Man am I feeling left out. All this talk about Pre cruise accommodations. For the first time with all my salinge with DCL I don't have to worry about it. I will be stating at Home, and no that is not in reference to DVC, just our little apartment 20 min north if the port.

Oh, sure, rub it in! Of course, I shouldn't complain too much since I am near Orlando,so I am close to Port Canaveral!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So far, I think we are staying near our relatives in Canyon Lake, and driving up to the port on Sunday morning. Our only concern is returning the car, since we don't know which car rentals are near the port. The only one I know has a pick up is Enterprise, but the office near the port is closed on Sundays.

How far away is LAX airport to return the car to? Would there be either public transportation or a shuttle service from the airport to the port?

Chuck could drop Patrick and I off at the port with the luggage and then go to return the car, so long as he gets back in time to check in! :drive:

LAX is about 20 min north of the port. I would not use public transportation to get there. Ours sucks big time. If you were to drop off at LAX your only options would to be hire a shuttle or have DCL take you.

What about a car service?

What about a car service?

We found a GREAT car service, they pick us up where ever we wanted, and dropped us off right at luggage drop off,
if anybody is Interested, please let me you, and I'll give you the phone # and POC (point of contact)
Very reasonable!

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

I can't really give you an update as I am not visiting the thread much as it is almost definite we will cancel and I get upset when I come on here! It will be so sad not to meet everyone. However I don't think much has been going on. If you want lovely matching Hawaiian shirts visit the first few posts and get an order off to Val(Valbob)

Oh, Marilyn, say it isn't so! I hope whatever it is works itself out and you are able to come. Seeing you again was one of the things we were looking forward to. The Geezers just wouldn't be the same:sad2:.

Hi Everyone, yes I am extremely slack and haven't been on in weeks.
So, as some of you know, I had a baby, who is now 3 and a half months, we moved house 4 weeks ago and my husband had surgery on his hip last week. So, that, along with the end of year school concerts, school camp, ballet concerts, art shows, etc, etc I have just been too busy. We only have 3 weeks left at school until our summer break of 9 weeks in which I plan to get myself immersed in Hawaii Cruise planning.

Congratulations, Hayley! I can't wait to see the little guy.

oh, BTW, we are paid in full as of yesterday!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Wow, good for you.

We are not having a pre-cruise stay in the classical sense either. Friends of ours have just bought a gorgeous house in Seal Beach and they have invited us to stay with them before the cruise.

Corinna

That sounds MUCH better than a hotel. Nice!

I would be interested!.. We have to get transportation from Candy Cane Inn to the Port before the cruise, and then we need transportation from the port to the Embassy Suites South near LAX. Do you know if this company has child car seats available? We are using super shuttle from the airport to DL and they do not provide or have car seats and we are traveling with a 4 and a 2 yr old and do not want to have to travel with, or store 2 car seats for 17 days. I have entertained the idea of buying a couple of cheap ones when we get there, but would rather use that money for something better!

Oh my goodness that is just so sweet of you to say. I am going to miss you all. I know so many on this cruise and it hurts!!! This would have been a very special cruise I think.

I have been so blessed with our cruises over the past few years and am trying to think of that and about all the lovely people we have met.

Two things, money(lottery win would sort that;) but as we don't buy tickets that doesn't have a chance of happening anyway:lmao:) and upcoming medical tests which will ruin our travel insurance. It wouldn't be worth the risk of needing a hospital stay in the US without cover. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Same here, for sure!

Again Joanne says what I think!!

Oh, Marilyn. So does that mean no more trips to the US because of the insurance? I don't think I could bear thinking we would never see you and John again. You are so very, very special to us!:hug::hug:

Thanks Angie and we feel the same about you both too.

No it doesn't mean that unless I have problems, and we hope to be over in Orlando next September.:) At the moment I have a diagnosis which is covered on our travel insurance policy after paying extra. My GP is now going to send me to a specialist to make sure I have nothing else he is missing, to be sure. However once I start seeing a specialist and having tests I won't be covered for anything related until I get a diagnosis. I don't think there will be anything else, but then there might be a problem of continuing to get my travel insurance with my existing condition. We will have to wait and see unfortunately. It is all so complicated and extremely annoying.

But.......I am sure we will meet again.:thumbsup2

OK, back to cruise planning everyone. I will keep popping in and tormenting myself though.:rotfl2:

Definitely. We met them on our Med cruise on the Magic last year, where they were our table mates. We kept in touch ever since. They also attended our vow renewal.
