I thought I'd borrow something fun from Terrie and the Inaugural Fantasy cruise:

We set sail in 27 weeks! That's 189 days!

I was working at the Polynesian Resort at WDW a few weeks ago.....and they have some really nice Hawaiian type clothes there.

I need to find a day to get my DH and DS over there so we can get a couple matching or coordinating outfits!:banana::banana::banana:

Connie

Chuck, come out, come out, where ever you are!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Thanks Joanne. We do enjoy this lifestyle for sure. We have to treat it almost like living here and only have one meal out a week(cheapish like BobEvans or Sweet Tomatoes) and try not to have too many treats. But we keep the other meals easy of course. Though I am not someone who sits around or sunbathe these days we do find ourselves spending evenings with our computers watching NCIS etc.

We both find our mini meets are the highlights these days as we aren't bothered about the parks as much, and we have met some lovely people over the years, mostly through cruising though some just through Disney boards. It is going to be hard when we can no longer come and meet up with these special folk. Now I have got tears in my eyes.:sad1:

However I think I am getting to feel it is OK to go home now. I am ready to see our children and grands, plus I have hospital visits coming up. What fun!

You've learned to seized the day, so I guess we just have to try to enjoy what we've got while we've got it :thumbsup2. I hope your hospital visits are not for anything serious and I hope they go well for you.

I just returned from a 3 week Disney Vacation. Honestly it was easy. It felt great to sleep in my bed. I have been gone form work for almost a month. Last day before vacation was Sep 27 and first day back is Oct 23. I have to be honest I am ready to get back to work. The vacation was everything I needed it to be, but I think a little too long.

Oh Alan - so sad to hear it was too long...I take a month off every year and I live for the time away from home, work and all the tech I deal with.....I find that I am usually ready to go back to work, but never have I said the trip was too long....I am glad you had a good time.

Corrine - glad you enjoyed your time away as well!!!!

Next year will be the first year I am not taking a month off in 5 years. I am doing way too many cruises to get all the time in a row...so I am going for 2 weeks, home 3 weeks, going for 2 weeks, home for 2 weeks, going for 1 week, home a week, going for 1 week...whew....4 ships in 1 year!!! that is the theme!!The last ship will be in Nov....what a blast this will be!!

We are looking forward to seeing Marilyn and John tomorrow here at The Villages......Trolley ride here we come!

Yes, looking forward to it here too. Just having breakfast. See you later.

All this talk of long vacation time makes me realize I need one soon. We'll have to wait until the WDW marathon weekend though. I still have time off before the end of the year, but the need to save money for our 2012 vacations is taking over.

When we did the WBTA in 2010 I took 5 weeks off, it was nice. When it was time to end I didn't mind it because I enjoy my "job". Also, the last week of the trip was at WDW. It's sad to say but after the 2 weeks with friends in Europe and 2 weeks on the Magic for the WBTA, WDW lost it's "magic". We had a good time but, found the atmosphere not what we had usually experienced.

I am still here trying to get better. On Friday I broke out in an rash from one of the meds. Now am on something to combat that but it makes me sleepy. We are supposed to leave for FL on Dec. 1st but that may not happen. We will have to wait and see.

I haven't made our pre and post reservations yet. I thnk I am going to bite the bullet and make them for Paradise Pier. I can always cancel if something better turns up.

Anyone thinking of getting a group together for a dinner package for World of Color?

Gosh, Charlotte, you ARE having a time of it:sad2: I HOPE you recover in time to go to Florida as planned.

I am hoping to join such a group - not real up with making reservations in California, but someone else made ours for after the Panama - dinner at Arials was FABULOUS. And the accessible seating for WOC was decent. Which reminds me, I need to order an ECV also.

We did have a great time, but man it was awesome to sleep in my bed again. Yesterday was my first day back at work in almost a month. It felt good to be back.

Sometimes it seems the cure is worse than the disease, doesn't it? I hope they get your meds worked out.

The drug reaction reminds me of something that happened to my mom. They put her on a new diabetes drug, and a day or two later, she pulls me over and whispers, "You won't believe it but I slept with George Clooney last night. Don't worry, we didn't do anything." It was all I could do not to bust out laughing! When I told the doctor, she said that hallucinations weren't an uncommon side effect and at least hers were fun.

We were fortunate enough to be able to book VGC for 3 nights after. I do love having DVC!

What exactly were those drugs and where do I sign up! :lmao:

So I noticed that DCL is planing the Pirate party on day 6 our first day on the Islands?

Seems strange that we will be at sea for 5 days going and 4 coming back and yet the Pirate party is a land day?

What are they thinking?
