Has anyone been on the "Ultimate Yacht Excursion" in St. Maarten? I noticed it on the Disney Excursions and we booked it. Sounds wonderful....we will be on our own private yacht for 8 hours....they supposedly take you sight seeing, snorkeling in 3 different places. They also take you to Marigot so that you can go to some of the shops and spend some time there. I can't wait...I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this particular excursion.

Thanks,
Dawn

Hi Dawn! I'm not familiar with that excursion but I booked the Golden Eagle Catamaran and have my fingers crossed that it is good (anyone familiar with that one??)!! Welcome to the group....I'm a relatively new poster too :goodvibes

I was beginning to think we were NEVER going to get our docs, but. . . low and behold, I got our MAGIC call from Make-a-wish tonight. . . they are coming bright and early Saturday morning with documents and who knows what else in hand (actually I know they are bringing Dunkin Donuts!), and they will be surprising Austin (the wish child), be has no idea when they are coming. . .. so I will just have to make sure he is up and dressed to receive them at the door, and welcome them in. I am getting SO SO SO excited now. . . it is like it makes the dream really come true. . .. we REALLY are going on a cruise. . .we also got some GREAT news that makes the cruise that much more special and I hope you guys don't mind me gushing about it. . .. we received the news that, Austin has NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE!!

He has no detectable evidence of the cancer! :dance3: :dance3:

YAHOOOO. . . . and I got a new gown for formal night. . . but that does not compare to the other news!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

How wonderful Patty!!!!! What great news that will make the cruise a thousand times even more special for you and your family :yay: :yay: :yay:

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 2 weeks!

Whoo Hoo - we're down to 2!

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Today's tip comes from Karen (ohiominnie).

Make sure that one of the FIRST things you do is get your child(ren)s wristband from the clubs....

I remember hearing the story of a smaller kid who got separated, but they were very easy to get back to mom and dad b/c they had their wristband already on.

This is even easier now than when I first wrote the tip because you can get the wrist bands in the terminal and not have to wait until you are on the ship.

Great tip Karen - thanks for sharing!

Since we have so many new people joining us I thought I would recap about the meet again.

DIS meet scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday April 26th to be held in the Promenade Lounge.

Look for this DIS meet sign:

We will have blank name badges for everyone and pens to fill them out:

You can put your real name on the badge, your screen name or both. They are the size of a business card and will fit in your KTTW card holder if you have one.

Any questions ask away!

My husband and I are taking our first Disney cruise! We are the parents (and parents-in-law) of Chris and Dawn (cdriecke), who started posting yesterday. Can't wait to meet everyone!

We can't wait to meet you too...our group is getting bigger by the minute!!! This is so exciting!!!:dance3: :dance3:

Another question from me, do we need any type of insect spray? Here in NJ our kids can not go our anywhere in the evening without being attacked by vicious groups of blood sucking mosquitoes...I don't know what type of bugs to expect while we are away?

If I remember correctly, we did bring some bug spray when we did the western last may, but we didn't need to use it! :thumbsup2
Not many bugs in the Caribbean!
We also know about the summer bugs here in Montreal!

CCREW - would your son like a pen pal for the next week?? My DS 11's name is Bryce, e-mail is goaliebryce31@hotmail.com (yes, we are hockey nuts!)

Yes, my son would love it. He loves hockey too!!:cool1:

Sorry I just read this today, Nick said he will send an email after hockey practice this morning!!:woohoo:

The mosquito is the official Florida State Bird. :tink:

Right now, mosquito's aren't a major problem. I would wait till you got to Florida to decide if you really need it - if so, any grocery or convenience store will have some for sale. I don't think you will need any in the Caribbean.

Well, DW's final exam in Physics is now scheduled for the morning of April 25. She can now get that out of the way and concentrate on packing Friday nite.

I 'hate' (and hate is a strong word) the new MS Office 2007. The new ribbon bar is making it difficult (not easier) for me to find things. :headache:

I almost got seasick on land the other day. I got a pair of those Progressive Lens glasses (lineless Bifocals), and they made me dizzy. They say 20% of the people who wear them don't like them. Well, count me in that group. 8-] I'm going to take them back.

My DS8 graduated from Space Camp yesterday. They held a short but nice ceremony for the 23 children and introduced each kid one at a time. My DS said it was more fun than he expected. The only issue we had was that he was 2 pounds too light for the micro-gravity wall, to which he was really looking forward.

GO GREEN

STS-26R (R was for 'Return to Flt') was the first shuttle launch after the Challenger accident. The theme for this launch was "Green for Go" and everyone was asked to wear green on launch day. Ok, we won't be wearing green on April 26 but I thought I'd just throw in this little tidbit of information. Still, I could say that .....

ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO FOR CRUISE

Ginny welcome to the DIS and the DCL forums! So glad you decided to join this fun bunch in posting! If you have any questions just ask away!

You should be fine on the cruise and at WDW. I can't remember if you are staying off property. If so you might want to pick some up for the evenings. Disney does a good job of spraying but they might be out in other areas.

Good news for Steph's test! :thumbsup2

I have the Progressive lenses and love them but if they aren't working for you definately take them back . We don't want you feeling  on the cruise.

Yeah for Space Camp! Too bad he was too light for the wall. Can he go back next year? Maybe you should have signed him up for after the cruise :lmao:

Well lime green is the official DIS color - that's why the lime green mickey heads are on the badges and sign. Go Green is a good motto! :thumbsup2

Congrats on that sweet baby, love that name. In 2 weeks we will boarding that lovely boat. In less than 2 weeks, I start my vacation.

I have lost 16.8 pounds this month, gotta get that 3.2 in before we sail. Wish me luck. This will be first 20 of many and I plan on eating on the cruise, it just feels good to know I can do it!
