April 29th is the day of the Grand Parade on St. Maarten, and there will be 5 ships in port that day, including one of the largest cruise ships in the world (Liberty of the Seas). That equals nearly 13,000 cruise passengers mobbing the island. That's not to mention the traffic problems you will have coming back from the other side of the island during the parade.
Randy,
Your planning on renting a car in St Maarten.
So are we! A little car
Are you starting to have second thoughts
With 5 Ships at port at that time in Phillipsburg and the parade is in Phillipsburg starting at 10AM. The route the Grand Parade usually travels along the Bush Road towards Front Street and then to the Walter Nisbeth Road, through the streets of our capital, Philipsburg and culminates at the Carnival Village.
Will we be able to even get out of town never the less get back in time.
I guess I will have to think about this again. Maybe mopeds
Anyone have any experience St Maarten during the Parade.
I don't want to be on the dock waving
to the ship

Again welcome

Hopefully over the weekend, she will fully recover.
I am so thrilled and have been reading it, getting even more excited about the cruise, if that is even possible!
